  1. I think Dr. Bisanga still does FUT but not sure if Dr. Lupanzula does it. Please keep us in the loop....
  2. Dear Bennyt89, Thank you very much for sharing your experience with Dr. Bisanga and BHR Clinic staff. We are very pleased to hear you had a positive experience at the clinic. Pictures are very clear and not it's time to rest for a few days and follow the post-op instructions. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need anything. Kind regards,
  3. Dear Grigriman, Thank you very much for the upgrade of your surgery with Dr. Bisanga. The process seems to be correct at this stage. In larger pictures we can see fine new hairs which is a good sign but we will be aware during the next months. Anything you may require we are at your total disposal. Kind regards,
  4. Hello, I'm new posting to this Forum. I'm in my forties with Norwood 5. I'm interested only in FUE since I keep my hair short and I would like to keep my downtime to the minimum. I don't mind traveling for the right surgeon. I would really appreciate your recommendations. Sorry if I have a long list. Thanks
  5. Hi Guys, Anyone thinking of using HLC in Turkey (Dr. Ozgur Oztan) or BHR Belgium (Dr.Bisanga)? I am thinking of having my procedure in December 2017. Would love to have a chat. FUE Hairline Clinic Turkey | https://en.bhrclinic.com/
  6. Sometimes hearing other people just telling you to be patient and don't rush is frustrating, as you want to address things ASAP. But take my story as a small example of how things could potentially go pear shaped when you're making emotional decisions... I made my first post here in 2012 as a 22 year old who was an emotional wreck, due to what I perceived at the time to be the beginning of the end of my youth with the onset of MPB (at the time I was a solid NW2, what the hell was I thinking!). I was so so close to signing up to a HT but felt like I needed to do my due diligence first before putting any deposit down, and boy am I glad I did. Coming across this forum and the wealth of knowledge and support from its members made me reconsider jumping into a HT so young and unsure of what future MPB I had in store, not to mention this particular doctor I was about to sign up with was pushing for FUT and had a less than stellar reputation. Would've been a terrible mistake with a scar to boot. On advice from the forum I restarted Fin which slowed everything to a crawl, fast forward to now I am 28 and my hairloss is around a NW2.5 (slowly heading towards a 3). Now I'm at a stage where my hairloss has stabilised, I've been patient and done my research for 6 years on top doctors and now have a procedure booked in Belgium with Dr. Bisanga for FUE. So advice for the young guys, play the long game. Exhaust your other options first before making this big decision. At the time I thought I would be potentially saving my youth and my 20's where I could have potentially ruined that with a botched HT, now I've had fun in my 20's I'm positioning myself to have a prosperous 30's hair wise as well
  7. Wow! I'm going in for a HT myself in about a month, in Belgium though with Dr. Bisanga. We have somewhat similar MPB patterns and I would absolutely kill for a result like that. You should be very happy, I know I would be

  9. Some quick thoughts here based on my experience: If you go with Erdogan you are going to 100% have to shave your entire head (donor area and recipient both). Just want to put this out there as for some people (like myself) there is not enough downtime to do this with work etc. This is even for smaller procedures. For my last procedure in a limited area Erdogan and ASMED was in my final list, but I excluded them as I could not afford the long downtime. Other clinics (Bisanga, Konior) will agree to a mohawk type of buzz cut for FUE where the donor is shaved and then only the immediate recipient area. For diffused thinning I would dense pack into a slightly lowered hairline just below your current one - I'm saying this without seeing any of your pics which is not ideal but it's easier to dense pack into virgin scalp than it is in between existing hairs. And concentrate on boosting the hairline and frontal third as your first goal. As for H&W I would research their work here on this forum and choose the surgeon whose results matches your desired situation - which one produces amazing results in cases of diffused thinning patients. My favorite of the two overall is Dr. Hasson who I believe excels at dense hairlines while Wong is more of a master at crown work. And is H&W a proven FUE leader yet? I'm not sure yet and have only seen a limited number of FUE cases from them at this point.. Also have you actually been examined by a hair restoration surgeon yet or sent in photos? Some clinics may reject patients if they demonstrate advanced balding/thinning and are not on Propecia for maintenance, especially if the donor is very thin and sparse. Oh and as for your second choice for Turkish doctor I would skip him as the only people I see making him their first choice are those who are trying to save a buck. I had seen some not ideal cases on here as well and I don't have the time to read each and every post but my researched opinion is that he should not be among your finalist list. HDC and Dr. Maras produce more consistent work at fairly affordable prices for example.
  10. Dr. Rahal is not even close to the best FUE surgeon in North America. He barely performs the procedure, beyond making incisions and designing the hairline. There is very little physician oversight with a Rahal FUE procedure, with his head technician Mike Lara, doing the bulk of the work. In most states, it is illegal for technicians to extract grafts or to make incisions in patients. You want to talk technical, let's talk about the turnover rate of Rahal technicians and where Mike was trained. What the mean extraction to FUE attempt ratio is. What holding solution he uses. Why he takes grafts from a dense compact region of the scalp as opposed to homogenizing the extraction pattern like Cooley, Bisanga, Baubac, Umar etc. Why he has a consistent pattern of over harvesting donor areas. Let's get Sean, Sharkman, Bridget Jones, The Flyer, Marco (FUT), etc to chime in here. A very quick search of Rahal bad results will reveal far more consistently bad results than most other top tier recommended physicians on this site. While I won't comment on the specifics of my case in public any longer, anyone can feel free to message my directly, and I'll be happy to speak with you. If you want an FUT, Rahal has produced some consistency good results, but there are still better options.
  11. wawww when i read the forum %70 about dr cinik also about his success operations same time good reviews about him i am sorry but it is not normal and naturel mostly like own adversting maybe he must change his adversting strategy .The best doctor Dr.Bisanga have more little review than Dr.Cinik ..Is it normal for you ?
  12. The reputation out there is to go with Rahal for amazing FUT results but not for FUE. I believe for FUE you should go elsewhere, Bisanga, Erdogan or Konior (if you can get the Dr. K booking & have the funds). Best of luck.

  14. So, after 2 years or so of research I have just got back from Brussels having completed my FUE with Dr. Bisanga. 2,093 grafts in total: 519 one graft, 894 two graft, 613 three graft and 68 four grafts (total of 4,402 hairs). Originally they expected 1,500 - 2,000 but we went a little beyond that. It was agreed to go conservative and I am happy with that. I must first start off by saying that while it was far from an horrific ordeal it was also far from a walk in the park! For some unknown reason I thought the whole surgery would be a doddle. Easy and boring as far as I was concerned. Well, that was not the case. I did not expect to have that many numbing injections and they are bloody sore! And lying on your back can get very uncomfortable. But thats just me being a b!tch I suppose. The technicians were great mind you and made it easier than what it really was. Anyway it was 2 days of fairly long days and I am delighted to have it finished. Especially all the travelling. Now its just rest for 2 weeks and I can deal with that! So I could go on but I wont. I have attached my photos from before and the day of the surgery. I will make sure to update fairly regularly early on to show how I heal and then will prob post every couple of weeks to show the growth. I have started a blog too. Let me know your thoughts if you have any!
  15. Hi, This is a new case from Dr. Bisanga and BHR Clinic team. * BHR Clinic * Dr. Christian BISANGA * NW3-Difussed * Age: 31 * Technique: FUE * Medication: Minoxidil 5% * Donor density: 75 FUs/cm2 * Medium hair * FUs: 2.699 * Previous surgeries: No * Breakdown: - 1s: 844 - 2s: 1150 - 3s: 563 - 4s: 142 That is 2699 FUs = 5401 Hairs. Average = 2,00 hairs / FU. The goal of this surgery was to reinforce frontal 1/3 and rebuild the whole hairline. The patient himself asked for a conservative approach thinkinf of mid-long term. 16. Hi Everyone! I want to thank you all for being such a great resource in my hair transplant journey. I used this site extensively to learn about hair transplants and I would like to share with you all my hair transplant experience thus far so people can benefit. My profile: Age: 27 Clinic: HDC Clinic in Cyprus Surgeon: Dr. Kyriakos Maras Date of Surgery: April 1, 2017 Type: FUE # of Grafts: 3200 I started my hair loss in my late teens, receding heavily at my temples. I wish I had done something much earlier to combat my hair loss as I have lost a lot of my hair in the front and top since then. I started shaving my head to a 2 the last few years after growing tired of a combover. How I found my clinic: I did a lot of research online and compiled a list of top clinics in North America and Europe. Then I contacted each clinic for an online consultation where I sent them pictures and videos of my hair. I found the best way to organize info I receive and to compare and narrow down the clinics to what suited me best was to create an excel spread sheet. I recorded many things which included the number of grafts they recommend, the expected hairline design, and price. After narrowing down a few clinics, I looked extensively at patient reviews on hair transplant forums to make sure people are getting great results. I found that Erdogan at ASMED produced wonderful results at a reasonable price, but had a long waitlist and wanted me to be on finasteride for at least 6 months. Several others like Bisanga and Feriduni also produced great results but was a little more expensive. HDC is a clinic that one of my friends had gone to about 6 months earlier than I did. He got good results from them and so did a lot of other people online. Their price was also a little lower than Bisanga and Feriduni. So after contacting them for a consultation, they made me feel comfortable with their level of service and I went ahead and set up a surgery. The transplant experience: The clinic made me feel very comfortable that I was in good hands the whole time. Dr. Maras and the techs that worked there were very experienced, professional, and courteous. I was picked up from the airport by a driver sent by the clinic and they provided free accommodations for up to 7 days. At HDC, Dr. Maras does the punching and excision and the techs do the extraction and placing of grafts. The techs have all been working there for a long time, so I felt very comfortable. The surgery itself took over the course of 2 days, about 4/5 hours each day. Like most people on here say, the most uncomfortable part was having to lie down in an uncomfortable position. There was no pain at all aside from the anesthesia injections. The clinic offers free accommodation for up to 7 days, which I took advantage of. Post surgery I went into the clinic everyday and got my hair washed by them and they made sure everything was going well. By the time I left Cyprus, the scabbing had already been washed off my head. Here is a picture with Dr. Maras 4 days post op. Swelling has gone down considerably by then. Vlog of my hair transplant journey: I feel the best way to share my experience with you all is through visuals rather than words, so I decided to make videos documenting my whole experience in a vlog format. I have just finished and uploaded my first two vlogs on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrXSnH6jHAsX1EIgXECbIhQ/videos Vlog #1 shows my arrival to Cyprus and getting picked up at the airport. I also give a tour of the apartment that I lived in for a week. Vlog #2 shows the first day of surgery where Dr. Maras provided my consultation and designed my hairline. I am spending a lot of time to try to make these videos professional (first time video maker), and will upload a new vlog whenever it is done. I hope that people will find these videos documenting the whole process helpful. I will post in this thread whenever a new vlog is uploaded, but you can also subscribe to my channel to be notified. I really appreciate your support! Progress pictures: I have just hit 5 months and have already seen a lot of results. Here you can see a before after shot of the top and front of my hair. You can see that my hairline has been lowered by quite a bit. The hair is looking really great in pictures and even in sunlight. However, up close I am really hoping the front will gain more in density. I will continue to post more old pictures that I took after the surgery and update you guys with my progress here. Also I made an Instagram account where I upload my progress pictures, so be sure to support, follow me there, and check that out too! https://www.instagram.com/hairplanter/ Current hair loss regime: I am currently doing the big 3 regime. I started finasteride in January 2017 and luckily had no side effects. The Minoxidil I started 2 months after surgery and Nizoral I just started a week ago. Nizoral has caused a bit of shedding after I incorporated it into my regime. I'm planning on continuing for longer before I decide if want to keep using it or not. 1) 0.5mg Finasteride daily. 2) 5% Kirkland Branded Minoxidil Foam applied morning and night daily. 3) 2% Nizoral shampoo used once a week. Thank you so much for reading my post! I hope that you find my content helpful if you are considering or have had a hair transplant. Feel free to reach out with any comments and questions. I look forward to providing more content for the hair loss community! -Hairplanter Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrXSnH6jHAsX1EIgXECbIhQ/videos Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/hairplanter/

  18. Hi there, just thought i could piggyback off this thread. Thank you for sharing and this treasure trove on information, some of which can be slightly overwhelming! I'm currently based in the U.K. and my main consideration at this point is deciding who to go with... geography, cost and timing all play a slight factor in my overall consideration but quality is obviously paramount. You obviously speak highly of Dr. Erdogan and Asmed clinic and also of Dr. Yaman (who i havent heard much of till now), but is this relative to Turkey alone? where do we rank some of the best Turkish hair transplant doctors along the best in the world? The great disparity of quality and experiences in Turkey leaves me a bit apprehensive and I am trying to keep an open mind as to ensure I am not missing out on great treatment based on my prejudice. I'm fairly new to the forums but have been reading a bit and i understand even leading clinics in Belguim and the US/Canada will utilise technicians for placement of the grafts, but am I correct in saying that the reason Turkey is so much cheaper is in part due to the technicians carrying out the graft harvesting and placement? (with some doctors placing the recipient incisions) at the moment I am leaning towards Belguim, possibly Dr. Lupanzula (who i have a consultation with soon), Feriduni, Bisanga, or Devroye. I can't say I have much faith in the U.K. based clinics, following some consultation visits at Da Vinci clinic and Dr. Mays clinic, both fell short of what I was hoping for.
  19. Hair goes 1992: I had my first strip procedure in 1992 when I was 22 years old with Dr Barry White here in Melbourne Australia. I am now 46 years old. (1992 was almost pre internet, so research was very limited.) I had 2 or 3 procedures with Dr White. I'm not sure how many grafts in total, but by today’s standards, the results were poor. 2005: Around 2005 I had another procedure with Dr Jenifer Martinick, during my consultation with Dr Martinick, I was told this would be last strip procedure as my donor hair was very limited. In ~ 2006: I had strip revision again with Dr Martinick, the idea of this was to reduce my scar so I was able to cut my hair shorter. During my surgeries in Australia, I would have had around 3500 grafts transplanted in total, but to me it looked like only about 1500. A few years ago I started to do some research online and was very impressed by the results people were getting with the latest hair transplant techniques. I then found “Hair Restoration Social Network” and started looking into reputable surgeons. My donor hair, being very limited and strip no longer being an option, I was looking for a surgeon who had the expertise in performing both FUE and Body Hair Transplants. After some extensive research I managed to find a few doctors in different countries that I felt could address my specific needs. My home being in Melbourne Australia made it difficult for me, both geographically and economically, to travel to a few other countries for consultations. I decided the best way around this was to arrange to meet two of my selected doctors at the ISHRS convention in Malaysia. The consultations were for October of: 2014: The doctors were Dr Jose Lorenzo and Dr Christian Bisanga. They both have an excellent reputation world wide and also on this forum. My first consultation was with Dr Jose Lorenzo followed by Dr Bisanga. After much deliberation I chose Dr. Bisanga. I found him to be more approachable and thorough in the consultation, and also felt he was more comfortable with body hair transplants and a lot more optimistic. In my long journey with hair transplantation of the years I would highly recommend travelling to any of the conventions held worldwide. Here you will have the opportunity to meet with some of the very best practitioners in hair restoration in the world, all in one place! Having decided on Dr. Bisanga for my surgery I took the leap and booked my surgery. I arranged for 3 weeks leave from work. I flew to Brussels. The flight was around 26 hours in duration ~ Melbourne to Singapore, Singapore to Dubai, Dubai to Brussels. 2015: End of March ~ I checked into the Hotel Catalonia in Brussels around lunchtime on the Saturday, I pretty much slept most of the time until my first day of surgery on the Monday. I arrived at 8am sharp as requested, filled out the paperwork and had a quick consultation with the Doctor. I changed into a gown and had some photos taken. The time had finally arrived and I was ready for my: ‘DAY ONE’ of surgery ~ 1200 FUE head hair. ‘DAY TWO’ of surgery ~ 700 grafts from Head, 557 from Beard and 335 from Chest. I found day two a little more difficult. The procedure started at 10am and ended around 8pm. The beard hair went into my strip scar, and I found this part of the procedure to be the only uncomfortable part of the whole surgery. It was late in the day and I was beginning to feel a little restless. In my opinion FUE is a walk in the park compared to strip. Healing time is so much faster. My first procedures with Dr. Bisanga were complete! I was ready to fly back home. I was given a black bandanna to wear and a letter from BHR, explaining that I just had surgery, in case I was questioned by customs. I skipped through passport control and customs without a problem. I was very happy with the outcome of the first surgery and returned 12months later.. 2016: March ~ Procedure: 1217 FUE grafts and 890 beard hair. On this trip I returned home around 4 days before the Brussels airport bombing and security was a lot higher this time around. I was questioned on arrival on my reasons for visiting Brussels and had to provide documents of my hotel reservations and credit cards details.
On leaving when going through security they asked me to remove the bandanna. I showed them the letter and was subsequently taken to a private room to show I wasn’t hiding anything. I wanted to share a little bit of my story here on “Hair Restoration Social Network” as it has provided me with not only a lot of information in solving my hair loss problems but also in providing a support network for myself and others in my situation. This whole ‘hair loss experience’ can be a very traumatic experience and it’s comforting to know that “Hair Restoration Social Network” and other reputable hair loss forums are out there in support of our hair loss journey.
As you can see from the photos of my original surgery, it wasn’t pretty. NOW: I can go out in public without wearing a baseball cap and not feel so self-conscious. I would like to thank DR. BISANGA and his TEAM. It’s a very emotional journey, as I’ve already mentioned, and travelling across the other side of the world to have surgery doesn’t make it any easier. DR. BISANGA and his TEAM looked after me very well, and I am extremely happy with the results. I highly recommend Dr. Bisanga and his whole team. Thank you to STEVEN and DANIEL from BHR for answering ALL MY questions and for guiding me through the whole process.

I would also like to thank Acting and Mickey85, two members here on this forum that helped me make an informative decision. I would also like to thank the Hair Restoration Social Network. There is a lot of information on here detailing everyone’s experiences… It makes it a lot easier to find a suitable doctor.
  20. Dr. Bisanga, No more receding hairline for this guy at all :-). The results look great and with so few grafts used, he has plenty left in the tank for the future if he needs them. Keep up the great work. Best wishes, Bill
  21. Hey Speegs, Thanks for the great comments! Yes I do agree that I'm somewhere in between Norwood II and Norwood III I appreciate the comments about finasteride and minoxidil, I will definitely discuss those options with the doctor going forward and might try them again for a longer period than 6 months and see if anything works differently (better). I do agree that prevention is key. But we have to find what works individually, the right type of product. We're all different and not everyone has the same results, as we all know. I will definitely try more stuff from now on, to see what makes a positive and lasting impact on my hair loss. Including laser therapy. I appreciate your opinion on my eligibility for surgical hair restoration, but I really don't think Dr. Bisanga would accept me as a good candidate if he didn't genuinely think I was one, just like he was very honest about FUE being the (only) sane option for me vs FUT, even though I wanted FUT initially. He's a pretty honest guy. And I also got feedback from other reputable doctors - like Dr. Feriduni and Dr. Devroye - who told me I am eligible for another procedure, besides all the research I've done watching videos from patients who've done several procedures sharing their experiences and advice, exchanging e-mails with them, reading a ton of articles, etc. I think I've made a great decision I feel very positive about it. 22. Hey David! You know what, I heard back from the doc's office yesterday and they suggested for me to film a video doing a scalp exercise and send it back to them if I' like the doc to reconsider possible FUT. I tried the exercise with my fingers in the back of my head and my scalp barely moved, compared to the guy in the video tutorial they sent me, who had the skin of his scalp moving up and down with the exercise. That was enough evidence for me. I definitely see that Dr. Bisanga is right and I'm gonna go for it and have FUE I feel very positive about it now. I also chatted with Steven Cook from McGrath Medical, a very knowledgeable and honest guy in the hair restoration industry, I follow him on David DiMuzio's YouTube Channel (a fantastic resource, with lots of info and honest videos). He also said he knows Dr. Bisanga very well and is 100% behind his work and expertise. Having seen lots of videos with Steve and David about FUT and FUE and advantages and disadvantages and so many experiences and cases, I was very reassured. I have paid the deposit and will have the procedure done next week (I had already reserved a date, months ago!). I feel very good about the whole thing now. Even though I will have to shave my head, which I have never done my whole life... Thank you sooo much for replying and commenting, it really helped me out. Hey Speegs! Thanks for your feedback. I don't know what you mean exactly when you say "Norwood II at your age is age appropriate" I know plenty of guys at my age who don't have a receding hairline. (And yes, there are also plenty of guys who have less hair than I do.) I have been experiencing considerable hair loss since my last effective procedure, which was over 10 years ago... particularly in the crown area, but also losing density overall... also in the front area where I had my first hair transplant done. I'm generally very private, but here are a few pictures of how it is now. Though the pictures do look a bit better than in person (even the doc's assistant said so) I used finasteride for 6 months when I was 25, but it didn't do anything for me. In fact, I remember losing even more hair than usually at that time. I dropped it. But I took great care of my hair and scalp throughout the years, namely using a combination of scalp-balancing shampoos with hair thickening & growth stimulation shampoos, a combination that has worked for me in terms of decreasing hair loss. I am definitely going to look into a laser helmet (or whatever it's called). A guy I follow on YT, who has also tried finasteride and did not have any results, he has recommended it, I might try it at some point after the procedure. I'll talk to the doctor about my options on that, as well. Cheers for replying guys. I really appreciate it. Save Save
  23. True that! I was thinking more in terms of getting more feedback on your eligibility for FUE and potential for obtaining the results you want from it rather than ruling out strip if it's the FU that's your concern. Sounds like you're covering all the bases. Did Dr. Bisanga rule out scalp stretching exercises? I've personally never done them but I've heard they can be very effective in preparing a tight scalp for strip.
  24. Hi David! Thanks so much for your feedback. The Dr. I consulted with is Doctor Christian Bisanga. I consulted with 3 other doctors, but only online, they didn't get to feel my scalp in person so obviously they couldn't say "scalp is too tight, we rule out FUT" Also, besides this doctor, the other one I'd want to do my procedure would be Feriduni, but he has a 6 month waiting period just for a consultation in person and over 1 year of waiting period to have the surgery itself... so that one is out of the picture, I don't want to wait a year and a half to have the procedure done. I'm not working at the moment, so this is the perfect timing to have it done, as I can give it a few months while the hair grows back. Also, since I still have a lot of hair, I think it's wiser to do the procedure sooner rather than later, as I am sick of styling my hair for 30 minutes every day to give it a fuller look every day, or having the same haircut that is more favorable to my receding hairline. Yet I am in doubt. Funny how our mind works! lol I've written to the doc and shall see what I get back.
  25. hi there HTsoon - please read my original post carefully. all i know is that i just spent my post-shower time this morning - like i do every morning - piecing together the hair on the top of my head like Christian Bale in 'American Hustle.' and every morning that i do this, i think about the in-excess-of $15,000 Dr. Mohebi charged for this pleasure. i am now post-op 1 year and there has been extremely little-to-no growth whatsoever. i am reporting this simply for the newcomer here, per my original post. for the gentleman who is considering his first HT, who has possibly saved his money for a year or more to make it happen and is trying to determine whether or not he is choosing the right doctor .... contrary to what you see and read here, i am here to tell you these doctors ARE fail-able. an HT can go bad, as in my case. going with Dr. Mohebi turned out to be hair-suicide and i certainly intend to pursue every legal remedy at my disposal to recover my investment. i really have no other choice given the results i've been left with. this has caused a great deal of depression and heartache for me. i simply would hate to see another man go through something like this. as such, i have poked my head up here to offer an unfortunate but necessary perspective on this process and decision. i have had consults with 2 other highly reputable doctors in the last 30 days to discuss a 'repair' (although there is little to 'repair' in the traditional sense) - they both say the same thing regarding why this happened. and as i have mentioned several times, i have all the emails that were ignored by Dr. Mohebi and some that include his incredibly rude and evasive responses. I will not post them publicly given their value within the context of arbitration. that is on the advice of counsel. but i have them and that is all that matters. thank you again to those who seem genuinely sympathetic. i truly hope someone here can use this to avoid a similar outcome.
