  1. Hi Jason, Thank you for the quick reply i'll look in Dr. Bisanga as well. Cheers mate.
  2. Hi John_Locke---I would suggest visiting with Dr. Bisanga who is located in Belguim as well. You should be set after consulting with both of these clinics. Take Care, Jason
  3. I feel your dilema. I almost did strip, but now I really want to do FUE, but like you want to see a higher volume of consistent results. You may want to have an online consultation with Dr. Bisanga. He does strip and also a lot of FUE. The pictures that they post on other forums seem very honest as far as lighting and the results are really impressive. I am hoping to see more patients post their experiences and pictures with him before I make a decision. Anyhow, one thing they suggest is that if you only need 2000 grafts, you can start out with fue that is extracted in strategic locations and you still leave yourself open to a future strip procedure if you absolutely need more grafts down the road. But...since you are heading toward NW5, you may want to go with strip first and then use fue only after you have been "stripped out". That way you can have the most possible donor grafts available to you.
  4. M&M, Dr. Bisanga has been invited to post examples of his work on our forum to be considered for recommendation. However, to date, they have not taken advantage of this opportunity. Thanks for asking, Bill Thanks Bill for the update. Let's hope he does indeed start to post on this site as I find it much more reputable than "Hairsite"! M&M

  6. For me: 1 - Dr. Bisanga 2 - Dr. Feller 3- Dr. Saphiro I don't know why but seems that Dr. Feller hairlines are more inconsistent than Dr. Bisanga Hair lines. Just my opinion, but Dr Feller and Saphiro also have a great work.
  7. LOL-- yes M&M we will be posting some FUE work---I just takes time to build a patient base. If Edge were to choose Dr. Feller or Dr. Bisanga he would be in great hands. On another note, we have recently begun using Dr. Feller's new FUE extraction tool---I am happy to report that it has met with great approval and seems to reduce the hand fatigue associated with FUE. I am sure Dr. Shapiro will write something up in the near future to describe our experience with it. Take Care, Jason
  8. With no prior surgery and a likelihood of only needing a small number of grafts, it sounds like you are an excellent candidate for FUE. I would definitely steer clear of most UK doctors based upon what I've seen so far in my research. I'm not saying that there aren't some good ones, but just that I have yet to see much in the way of consistent results (not meant as a blanket statement in the event I've overlooked someone). For FUE, I'd suggest: - Feller - haven't seen a LOT of FUE samples lately (most are strip), but if you're thinking FUE, you deserve to at least have a consult (online) with Dr. Feller. - Dr. Bisanga - BHR Clinic - wow have I been impressed with his results lately. Pat / Bill - are you visiting this clinic at anytime in the future to review possible recommendation? Based upon what I've seen, it looks very impressive. - Next up - Shapiro Medical is doing more and more FUE, and with BSpot back on this site, I'm hoping he or Janna can start showing off some of their work. M&M
  9. Hi guys. My first post here. Going in next month for my first HT. Im a nw 5a and am going for 4000-4500 grafts with Dr. Bisanga. Will try and get some pics posted soon. Got a question regarding scalp excersizes. How many minutes a day should i be doing them?
  10. Finally I have had my HT last month with Dr Bisanga. Initially I was interested in FUE but later on doctor's advise I agreed on FUT/Strip. I am really thankful to this site which helped me to choose a good doctor. I shortlisted couple of doctors initially and later decided to go ahead with Dr. Bisanga (BHR clinic). I am 26 year old. The total transplanted follicular unit count was 3387 (1 hair: 580, 2 hair: 1458, 3 hair: 770, 4 hair: 579). My experience with BHR was quite ok , even I will say it was good. The staff was no doubt very friendly. On the day, the procedure started early in the morning and I was given local anaesthesia, which was little bit painful. Later, the doctor took out the strip and made the punches. After lunch, technician started placing the grafts and the procedure completed in late night. During the procedure I felt absence of the doctor but might be I was under anaesthesia and not able to know that even though he was not continuously present there but was monitoring. The procedure was little bit tiring and at the end I was getting out of patience. The procedure was little bit painful (but that was expected), but the doctor ensured that the pain is avoidable as much a possible. I can still feel numbness in my donor area. I think my donor area will take some more time to heal completely. Donor area need more care in strip procedure compared to FUE. I had faced problem while sleeping because I had to sleep on my sutures (no other option) . But, I feel tough time is gone and its time to wait and watch. I am not sure about the shock loss but since my HT I can see lot of hair fall even in donor area but hopefully it is for short duration. I have started rogain and fanst few days back. Many Many thanks to you all especially Bill,Pat, thanatopsis_awry, Arrie, etc. I will post the photos very soon and will keep updating you.

  12. PGP, who is Dr L' this is what Dr Rassman said about it: http://www.baldingblog.com/200...-the-choi-implanter/ the last paragraph is interesting. my question is why not in the US if it makes the job easier? practice make perfect right? i'm dying to know what Dr. Bisanga is using for his implatation. if anyone knows the answer please let me know.
  13. your input and your comments are really appreciated Dr. Simmons. i believe that Dr. Bisanga @ BHR clinic is using the same technique. so nobody showcased this at any of the annual conferences? eh Bill? i wish that few more doctors comment on this. i asked specifically for dr. Devroye's opinion because he was online at that time, plus he is a fellow european. maybe his fue technique uses the same tool although I doubt it since I have not seen "fresh grapes" effect on any of his post-op shots.
  14. Reply from the doc on another forum and thought info was appropriate here too: Thanks for the comments. There are many ways to skin a cat- my method, along with our new instrumentation, is just one of them. I am in no way impugning the good FUE skills and methods of other established FUE doctors. Rather, I am just offering up a new tool and method that may facilitate the FUE process for both amateur and expert alike. FUE is a physically challenging procedure for a dedicated doctor and staff. Ironically, the more successful an FUE doctor becomes, the more he physically suffers as well- which is exactly why I invented this tool. My new instrument is not being offered up as a 'magic wand' for FUE. Nor will I allow it to be hyped as such. Like any new tool it takes practice and dedication to use proficiently. What I do strongly claim is that it will reduce the burden on both doctor and staff while at the same time speeding up the procedure-all without sacrificing quality. For the novice it will shorten the amount of time and skill necessary to become a proficient FUE doctor. Experienced and conscientious FUE doctors do not NEED to use this device. However, if they do decide to use it they will find out that they can still achieve the same high quality results- but with greater speed and less physical strain. Advanced FUE Instruments, Inc., the licensee and owner of the technology, will have a booth at the upcoming ISHRS meeting in Amsterdam to answer the questions of any and all doctors interested in finding out more about this new device. Any doctor may call me at my office if they wish to speak before the meeting. I did not build this tool to make a financial fortune. The market is simply too small for that, so it's just not going to happen. I built it because it needed to be built and nobody else would do it. FUE is finding it's niche, but in the realm of cosmetic surgery it's still a 'backwater' procedure-and it shouldn't be. I am thankful to Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Iter, Dr. Devroye, Dr. Feriduni, and several more whose names I'm forgetting for helping to bring FUE this far through their own methods and good work, but there needs to be MORE of us performing credible FUE. Much more. The only way to do this is by taking some of the burden off the doctor and putting it onto technology. This tool was designed to do just that- and it does. This opens the door for hundreds and perhaps thousands of more doctors to join the FUE ranks. No established FUE doctor should see this tool as a threat. Just the opposite, they should see it as a long awaited instrument that will provide them with the well deserved respite they have long sought since performing their first FUE extraction. As for myself, I will NEVER go back to manual FUE ever again. I doubt any experienced FUE surgeon would either after using this tool.
  15. Hi, I'm thinking about getting a hair transplant (probably somewhere around 1500 grafts) plus an eyebrow transplant (400 grafts +-)I live in Sweden, I'm 23 yo and looking for a FUE doctor somewhere in Europe. So far I have 3 possible surgeons on my list: Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Devroye and Dr. Feriduni. Who would you recommend me? Is there someone else I should consult? Btw, travelling to USA or Canada is not an option, simply because I hate airplanes ;P Best Regards, Swejohn
  16. swejohn, Welcom to our discussion forum. All of the physicians you mentioned do FUE. Dr. Devroye and Dr. Feriduni are both highly esteemed members of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians and plenty of their results, including FUE can be found on this forum and their doctor profiles. To see our standards for Coalition membership, click here. You won't find as many examples of Dr. Bisanga's work on thie forum, though we did invite him to present examples of his work in this community. I hope this helps get you startyed in your research. Bill
  17. Hi CuriousJungleGeorge I Proply would of gone for strip if i had known the benifits before hand, also if you click on my BlOG witch is above my pic of Balboa then you will see at the bottom the pic of me before also i cant say how much i piad as a contract was made about that. about the grwoth yes im sure alot more hairs are to show up as im not even 4months yet and everyday i can see it improving, my 2 main concerns are the DESIGN and the BUMPS, im sure armani will offer strip again at some point in the future if all the negatives keep putting people off going there for FUE Also i will add this: this is a reply from Dr Bisanga about the hairline and options Dr. Bisanga has had a chance to look at your case, the first comment he made is that although he appreciates and understands your concerns it is too early at present to really give you a realistic idea what can be done specifically. That said, we can discuss the possibilities, Dr. B wants to know your age also please. You do not want to lower your hair line further, that is a good thing and you discuss maybe removing some of the grafts to even up the design and this may be a possibility; FUE extraction tool can remove the grafts and not leave any scarring, the problem is sometimes this will not remove all the grafts in one procedure, this is because some will be in a "sleeping" stage and just not visible. Also to do this you will have to wait for certainly another 4 months maybe longer with the growth rates Armani has shown and I have seen. These grafts when removed can then be reused elsewhere to balance the hair line. Another problem is having to recreate the hair line because when we remove the frontal hair line we will be removing probably mostly singles hair grafts and this will expose the larger multiple hair FU and then the hair line will look pluggy, so we will have to go into the area further, remove some of the larger groups and then totally redesign the area; this can create the problem when we remove the FU it will obviously create a punch hole that has to heal and this will hinder placing new hair close to the area, so again it may not be possible to achieve the "total" result in one procedure.
  18. Hopefull: I highly disagree with your comment. This is clear case of failed HT with low yield. I don't think Stingray was misled. He even said himself that he was very informed going into the HT. If there is one area where he was misled it is where Dr. Armani claims that he never got a case with a yield of less than 80%. Stingray: I support your search of a good doctor to correct this, and hopefully you will get the result you want. I think going to a dr like bisanga would really fill things in nicely making it look alot thicker,i have seen bisangas videos of combing through and the density was still very thick regardless of the whole "illusion"
  19. 20. Stingray, thank you for sharing your pictures and your story with us. i agree with everything what guys were saying above. that job looks brutal to put it mildly. since you refused touch-up, try to ask for some money back, you will need that money for your next surgery. i'm glad i talked to wantego to get me in contact with you few days ago - thanks wantego! i got nothing new to add except what we discussed via PMs few days ago. i'm so happy that you decided to share your story with all of us, and i wish you all the best with Dr. Bisanga. your story has helped me big time in my personal HT research!!!!! cheers
  21. Spex: talking about understatement! Stingray: hope Dr. Bisanga will correct this. Please grow please highly regards this doctor.
  22. Well, if you want to (not) see an example of what you can expect from Armani FUE, ask Pats205, Armani's new internet rep, to send you his crown FUE pics, before and after. He's a full year grown out and has never posted his results. So, that gives you an idea of why you might not see the many bad results. If you are set on FUE, Dr. Alan Feller on Long Island does good work. Dr. Ron and Paul Shapiro do good work, they're in Minnesota. And Dr. Bisanga in Belgium does good work.
  23. yes in Europe my #1 choice would be Dr. Bisanga for sure. and if you don't mind spending some extra dough i would go with their FUE as the results that i've seen so far from them and their FUE are immaculate to say the least.
  24. Please grow please: again I don't care about Dr Bisanga's results - it's just not part of what I was saying. Old Baldy: you know any doctor that pulls a bait and switch and apologizes for publishing misleading information online directly to his patients, deserves to have the story told online. And just because someone has done great things in the past doesn't excuse bad behavior now !!! I think it's great for everyone to see a bit behind the scenes as I've pointed out. And yes, you are mostly 100% correct that I'm not completely quite ready to get a HT. But then if you read all the threads you would know this because I said so... I'm really close but because of all the misleading and dishonest marketing by the doctors, I did have to take one step back to rethink which procedure is right for me. This might take a few weeks but I surely am not going to jump in a chair until I feel completely comfortable. I suppose in a way, finding out about all the dishonestly by the doctors even on a ethical marketing level is good, because, it helps provide a clear view to make a more concrete decision one will be happy with. pmill: as mentioned the numbers are just an example, I do believe the FUE risk range is about dead on from what I've seen. Now I'm not talking about 100% of the results - it just represents there is a high degree of risk of having poor results with FUE over strip and nothing more. It doesn't mean a doctor can't achieve an 80% follicle survival rate but instead represents that they will do so less often with a higher chance of low results. Also, you are taking the doctor example as actual doctors - note that was only an example to explain how ranges work on a scientific level.. If you do a search on Dr. Armani within these forums you will find a minimum of 3 patients who are said to have results in the 25% range. And do I believe this - absolutely 100%. I would think if the average top doctor was able to perform 100 FUE procedures per year.. I would think at least a few would experience a 25%-30% follicle survival rate. If you don't think they are out there you must not be looking at some of the same blogs I've seen. I've see a lot of blogs where people have transplanted high number of grafts and when you look at their results I can only wonder where the hair is... Also, what would you do if you did a procedure for let's say 3000 grafts and your survival rate was around 30%. Would you automatically go on these forums... absolutely not.. the first thing you would do is visit the doctor's office where you had it done. After all, a 3000 graft procedure is expensive and people are more concerned about recouping losses by getting a touch-up than spreading the word. And I think that's fair considering how we were raised. Don't think I'm saying that the doctors are out to get us. There is absolutely no mistake that the doctors do want every patient of heir's to have enough hair to look like rock stars. After all, if that happens they become one. So even the worst doctor will do everything in their power to provide the best results possible. Rule of thumb - find the best doctor... T.C. : you are correct the top FUE doctors do have the best results - that's the same with everything.... the best cooks make the best tasting food. However no matter a doctor's skill doesn't change risk. Sure it may curb highs and lows but the risk still remains and I think that risk should be highlighted. I think it would be fair to say to all patients: if you are interested in strip - you can expect about a 90% follicle survival rate with a fairly good degree of certainty and a scar running from ear to ear. And if you are interested in FUE you can expect an 75% follicle survival rate, however there is a higher degree of risk. Some patients do experience low growth in certain areas and this isn't uncommon. Lost my swagger: awesome post !! I love this part " there is a common thought process on these online forums that "as long as you go to a TOP DOC you will be just fine".... its FALSE... you only better your chances of being satisfied..."
  25. lost my swagger: I was agreeing with your first statement.. your second one I agree for the most part though... Please Grow Please: okay, you still aren't following what I'm saying and that's okay - maybe it's my fault and I'm not providing good examples. That's okay, I'll explain again as it's important you and maybe other follow what I'm saying: First of all, I do confirm that I said "Dr Bisanga follicle survival rate is no different than any other FUE doctor." And I most certainly believe this within the context that I'm speaking. Remember, I'm talking about the survival ranges and boundaries and not referring to ability.... My comment is more on a scientific level. Let's look again at the ranges I wrote: Strip doctors' follicle survival rate = 90-99% (this is what I believe) FUE doctors' follicle survival rate = 25-80% (this is what I believe) I believe that all quality doctors fall within the above ranges when they do transplants, no matter who they are. Sure a percentage of quality doctors will maintain higher follicle survival rates than other quality doctors, however, at the end of the day they are all working within the range that is possible as of today's technology. Success rate chart example: * total patients for each FUE doctor = 100 ** percentage represents follicle survival rate Doctor 1 - 80 patients at 70%, 10 patients at 50%, 8 patients at 35% and 2 patients at 80% Doctor 2 - 65 patients at 75%, 25 patients at 65%, 5 patients at 55% and 5 patients at 27% Doctor 3 - 83 patients at 77%, 14 patients at 70%, 2 patients at 74% and 1 patients at 25% If you look at the above 3 doctors, doctor # 3 by far has the best results but not one doctor came up and beyond the range that I'm talking about. With almost everything regarding procedures there is a range. Sure bad doctor patients might fall below the range and the occasional might raise above. But, lows and highs are usually not considered in any study because they aren't reliable - there may be other factors why the results were exceptionally low or high.. because of that we can only conclude based on the results within the range. The importance of knowing the survival range for both the strip and FUE is not to help us select a doctor but instead to help us decide which procedure is better based on risk and reward. I hope that explains my comment in more detail. pmill: I've seen only photos on Dr. Bisanga's website so my comment is limited to that. Based on the photos I have to say that I dislike a few. When the photos are small they all look good, but, when I opened them up I didn't like a few of the hairlines. Maybe it's just me... Of course there were a few that did look very nice and one that I especially liked. Again, I can't provide a proper view as I haven't meet any of the patients. I think I would have to meet a patient to comment ethically.
