  1. Hi there, just thought i could piggyback off this thread. Thank you for sharing and this treasure trove on information, some of which can be slightly overwhelming! I'm currently based in the U.K. and my main consideration at this point is deciding who to go with... geography, cost and timing all play a slight factor in my overall consideration but quality is obviously paramount. You obviously speak highly of Dr. Erdogan and Asmed clinic and also of Dr. Yaman (who i havent heard much of till now), but is this relative to Turkey alone? where do we rank some of the best Turkish hair transplant doctors along the best in the world? The great disparity of quality and experiences in Turkey leaves me a bit apprehensive and I am trying to keep an open mind as to ensure I am not missing out on great treatment based on my prejudice. I'm fairly new to the forums but have been reading a bit and i understand even leading clinics in Belguim and the US/Canada will utilise technicians for placement of the grafts, but am I correct in saying that the reason Turkey is so much cheaper is in part due to the technicians carrying out the graft harvesting and placement? (with some doctors placing the recipient incisions) at the moment I am leaning towards Belguim, possibly Dr. Lupanzula (who i have a consultation with soon), Feriduni, Bisanga, or Devroye. I can't say I have much faith in the U.K. based clinics, following some consultation visits at Da Vinci clinic and Dr. Mays clinic, both fell short of what I was hoping for.
  2. Hey Speegs, Thanks for the great comments! Yes I do agree that I'm somewhere in between Norwood II and Norwood III I appreciate the comments about finasteride and minoxidil, I will definitely discuss those options with the doctor going forward and might try them again for a longer period than 6 months and see if anything works differently (better). I do agree that prevention is key. But we have to find what works individually, the right type of product. We're all different and not everyone has the same results, as we all know. I will definitely try more stuff from now on, to see what makes a positive and lasting impact on my hair loss. Including laser therapy. I appreciate your opinion on my eligibility for surgical hair restoration, but I really don't think Dr. Bisanga would accept me as a good candidate if he didn't genuinely think I was one, just like he was very honest about FUE being the (only) sane option for me vs FUT, even though I wanted FUT initially. He's a pretty honest guy. And I also got feedback from other reputable doctors - like Dr. Feriduni and Dr. Devroye - who told me I am eligible for another procedure, besides all the research I've done watching videos from patients who've done several procedures sharing their experiences and advice, exchanging e-mails with them, reading a ton of articles, etc. I think I've made a great decision I feel very positive about it. 3. Hi David! Thanks so much for your feedback. The Dr. I consulted with is Doctor Christian Bisanga. I consulted with 3 other doctors, but only online, they didn't get to feel my scalp in person so obviously they couldn't say "scalp is too tight, we rule out FUT" Also, besides this doctor, the other one I'd want to do my procedure would be Feriduni, but he has a 6 month waiting period just for a consultation in person and over 1 year of waiting period to have the surgery itself... so that one is out of the picture, I don't want to wait a year and a half to have the procedure done. I'm not working at the moment, so this is the perfect timing to have it done, as I can give it a few months while the hair grows back. Also, since I still have a lot of hair, I think it's wiser to do the procedure sooner rather than later, as I am sick of styling my hair for 30 minutes every day to give it a fuller look every day, or having the same haircut that is more favorable to my receding hairline. Yet I am in doubt. Funny how our mind works! lol I've written to the doc and shall see what I get back.
  4. Much of the FUE vs FUT literature I have read on both sides is barely high school level and shows utter disdain for the scientific method and understanding of controlled variables. For example the Beehner study on FUE cited by Feller and Bloxham regards a surgeon who considers himself experienced and yet also claims to have performed less than 100 FUE surgeries in a decade. To believe anything a talented surgeon writes even if the work is utter garbage and the evidence does not reflect evidence it is nothing more than an appeal to authority fallacy. We can look at the generalities on the other hand like the hundreds of Erdogan 5000-5500 graft cases on the international forums in which norwood 5s are achieving full coverage and the results are arguably more consistent than any FUT doctor in the world. When this extends beyond the hundreds (and failure rates or low yields below 2-3%) with doctors such as Lorenzo and Erdogan, you can no longer dismiss it as anecdotal evidence. https://www.youtube.com/user/NUFCBLOGS/videos International Hair Loss Forum - Dr. Koray Erdogan / ASMED SURGICAL CENTER : 5021 FUE International Hair Loss Forum - Vladimir 83 : 4502 FUE - Dr Erdogan - 14 et 15/05/2014 International Hair Loss Forum - Djeetee: 5500 FUE - Dr Erdogan - 27&28/09/16 International Hair Loss Forum - Vanpierresi & p?re : 3000 & 5000 FUE - Dr Erdogan - 14/02/17 International Hair Loss Forum - XABABA : 3200 FUE - Dr. Koray Erdogan, ASMED There are hundreds of these if you would like to look further. Hair transplant surgery is primarily cosmetic, we can deduce that FUT is clearly the better procedure by the nature of dissection under a microscope vs blind removal of tissue, however the results of doctors like Erdogan and Lorenzo show that large megasessions and massive cosmetic improvements that equal and better 95% of FUT surgerons in aesthetics and yield is possible. You cannot explain away all these cases with studies from American surgeons who are clearly having there business hit by superior and cheaper FUE surgeons who offer a more appealing service to the average patient (whether or not it is better). The studies are clearly inaccurate and high school level in many of their claims. Erdogan and Lorenzo have some of the most readily available results to view online, feel free to disprove with evidence of failure rates, poor yield and cosmetic mediocrity by looking at their results. Citing study data done by FUT surgeons who are incompetent at FUE and against it for business reasons is piss poor evidence against genuine results. Why are these and a number of other FUE surgeons such as Couto, Freitas, Lupanzula and Feriduni acheiving these results that so many highly intelligent and skilled FUT doctors claim is impossible? The explanation that it comes down to can be nothing other than competence. Why are doctors like Erdogan and Lorenzo able to get 6000-7000 on a regular basis from patients with no visible damage to the donor even with a fade cut? Why is there not a single case of an Erdogan 5000 with visible donor depletion when Feller claims this is impossible? Competence, experience and use of a manual punch. In regards to FUE, Feller lacks all of these in contrast to some of the top full time FUE surgeons. Either that, or he is simply lying. The claim that FUE cannot rival FUT for high norwood work and achieving similar cosmetic results for similar graft numbers is blatantly disproven.
  5. Some members might remember the story about the “Interview” with Feller, Feriduni (as a FUE/FUT clinic) and myself, which finally never realized. Nevertheless, I went to a second consult with Feriduni. Please be aware, I made an appointment for a consultation and not (!) an interview. Therefore, I only could ask some questions directly related to my case. I also did not record (of course) the discussion, but made notes before and after which I want to share. I also mentioned that I am in an online discussion about strip vs. FUE. - Dr. Feriduni recommended FUE as the right procedure for me (same did Bisanga and Lupanzula but the latter is performing purely FUE so maybe that doesn’t count). - This time I mentioned directly to Feriduni that I am open for strip if the results woud be significantly better - I also mentioned, that in the past I always had my hair long enough to disguise a good strip scar - Feriduni was confident that he could get results with FUE very close (or even similar) to his FUT and I had enough grafts available (which makes the lifetime graft count not a decisive factor for me) - He mentioned that I am (most likely) a good FUE candidate (hair type) - From what I understand it required many years (starting in 2003?) to come from 100-200 grafts a day to the numbers/results he does nowadays - He also mentioned that he would defend his opinion (almost similar results with FUE vs. FUT ) against anyone and actually there is a lot of discussion in the FUE conferences about this topic - Interesting point was that he told that on both sides (pro strip and pro FUE) there are “extremist” in both their opinion and their language (he mentioned the clinics names, but I will not publish them) - He admitted that there is very poor scientific data (FUE vs. FUT) and we had a brief discussion about the scientific articles and how they are edited (would be worth an extra discussion). - Interesting side note: Feriduni briefly explained different FUE extraction methods depending on the patients grafts (which helps reduce trauma but reduces grafts/session) Background to put the recommendation of the clinics into context: - I am 38 years old - Currently require totally 2500-3000 grafts - From my age and family history lifetime grafts required are ~ 5000 (if meds stop working) - All clinics estimated around 10 000 grafts available via FUE (and above average thickness and number of multis) As I am always suspicious and do not trust any doctor blindly (not Dr. Feller, not Dr. Bloxham nor Dr. Feriduni): - I used the “coverage value” from Lorenzo/Erdogan to calculate the available grafts myself and also ended up with around 10 000 grafts - Before I go for a big FUE session, I will do a minor fix for my W-Shape hairline (<300 grafts), which will hopefully tell if I am a good FUE candidate (how easy the grafts can be extracted) - If I am not a good candidate I will do FUT for the major area (crown) Maybe some will find this summary helpful.
  6. All norwood 5s with high sides and back on both sides of the family. In terms of FUT I would put Dr. Feller among the top options with, Bisanga, Hasson + Wong, Konior and Feriduni. My only issue with him is that in the (rare) cases I have seen of a very poor yield there are occasions where his conduct is approaching blatantly unethical, and he is very averse to refunds or touch-ups.
  7. decan, I'm sorry you're not getting any responses, perhaps it's because you're selecting between so many great surgeons that people don't know how to answer that. Honestly, Dr. Feriduni, Dr. Bisanga and Dr. Mwamba are all doing such great work that I would trust them all with my scalp. I would personally look at all of their work on their recommendation profiles (see the drop down box of surgeons in the right hand sidebar) and this forum, consult with each and then decide. I hope this helps. Best wishes Bill
  8. Hi Everyone! I want to thank you all for being such a great resource in my hair transplant journey. I used this site extensively to learn about hair transplants and I would like to share with you all my hair transplant experience thus far so people can benefit. My profile: Age: 27 Clinic: HDC Clinic in Cyprus Surgeon: Dr. Kyriakos Maras Date of Surgery: April 1, 2017 Type: FUE # of Grafts: 3200 I started my hair loss in my late teens, receding heavily at my temples. I wish I had done something much earlier to combat my hair loss as I have lost a lot of my hair in the front and top since then. I started shaving my head to a 2 the last few years after growing tired of a combover. How I found my clinic: I did a lot of research online and compiled a list of top clinics in North America and Europe. Then I contacted each clinic for an online consultation where I sent them pictures and videos of my hair. I found the best way to organize info I receive and to compare and narrow down the clinics to what suited me best was to create an excel spread sheet. I recorded many things which included the number of grafts they recommend, the expected hairline design, and price. After narrowing down a few clinics, I looked extensively at patient reviews on hair transplant forums to make sure people are getting great results. I found that Erdogan at ASMED produced wonderful results at a reasonable price, but had a long waitlist and wanted me to be on finasteride for at least 6 months. Several others like Bisanga and Feriduni also produced great results but was a little more expensive. HDC is a clinic that one of my friends had gone to about 6 months earlier than I did. He got good results from them and so did a lot of other people online. Their price was also a little lower than Bisanga and Feriduni. So after contacting them for a consultation, they made me feel comfortable with their level of service and I went ahead and set up a surgery. The transplant experience: The clinic made me feel very comfortable that I was in good hands the whole time. Dr. Maras and the techs that worked there were very experienced, professional, and courteous. I was picked up from the airport by a driver sent by the clinic and they provided free accommodations for up to 7 days. At HDC, Dr. Maras does the punching and excision and the techs do the extraction and placing of grafts. The techs have all been working there for a long time, so I felt very comfortable. The surgery itself took over the course of 2 days, about 4/5 hours each day. Like most people on here say, the most uncomfortable part was having to lie down in an uncomfortable position. There was no pain at all aside from the anesthesia injections. The clinic offers free accommodation for up to 7 days, which I took advantage of. Post surgery I went into the clinic everyday and got my hair washed by them and they made sure everything was going well. By the time I left Cyprus, the scabbing had already been washed off my head. Here is a picture with Dr. Maras 4 days post op. Swelling has gone down considerably by then. Vlog of my hair transplant journey: I feel the best way to share my experience with you all is through visuals rather than words, so I decided to make videos documenting my whole experience in a vlog format. I have just finished and uploaded my first two vlogs on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrXSnH6jHAsX1EIgXECbIhQ/videos Vlog #1 shows my arrival to Cyprus and getting picked up at the airport. I also give a tour of the apartment that I lived in for a week. Vlog #2 shows the first day of surgery where Dr. Maras provided my consultation and designed my hairline. I am spending a lot of time to try to make these videos professional (first time video maker), and will upload a new vlog whenever it is done. I hope that people will find these videos documenting the whole process helpful. I will post in this thread whenever a new vlog is uploaded, but you can also subscribe to my channel to be notified. I really appreciate your support! Progress pictures: I have just hit 5 months and have already seen a lot of results. Here you can see a before after shot of the top and front of my hair. You can see that my hairline has been lowered by quite a bit. The hair is looking really great in pictures and even in sunlight. However, up close I am really hoping the front will gain more in density. I will continue to post more old pictures that I took after the surgery and update you guys with my progress here. Also I made an Instagram account where I upload my progress pictures, so be sure to support, follow me there, and check that out too! https://www.instagram.com/hairplanter/ Current hair loss regime: I am currently doing the big 3 regime. I started finasteride in January 2017 and luckily had no side effects. The Minoxidil I started 2 months after surgery and Nizoral I just started a week ago. Nizoral has caused a bit of shedding after I incorporated it into my regime. I'm planning on continuing for longer before I decide if want to keep using it or not. 1) 0.5mg Finasteride daily. 2) 5% Kirkland Branded Minoxidil Foam applied morning and night daily. 3) 2% Nizoral shampoo used once a week. Thank you so much for reading my post! I hope that you find my content helpful if you are considering or have had a hair transplant. Feel free to reach out with any comments and questions. I look forward to providing more content for the hair loss community! -Hairplanter Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrXSnH6jHAsX1EIgXECbIhQ/videos Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/hairplanter/
  9. Forget about lists, i've been seeing Dr. Feriduni listed as a top doc ever since I signed up to this site, and I haven't seen more than 2 patient results published here in the past 3 years, everyone tends to regurgitates the same lists, what YOU as a potential patient have to do is actually research, look for REAL patients who've posted their results on websites such as this or through other platforms. As far as FUE goes the doctor with the most published results from real patients is probably Dr. Erdogan, while researching you have to understand what holds more weight, clinics only put out their best work obviously, so it is essential to see unbiased reviews of patients, if a clinic doesn't have enough unbiased reviews then it might be best to look elsewhere. Also be very wary of someone posting a review of them already at 12 months, you want to look for doctors who have patient's posting their results since day 1 up to the 12th month mark. Good luck on your research and remember this is YOUR head and it's YOUR responsibility to research.
  10. Hi all, I wanted to post a review of my very recent (I'm post op 2 days as of posting date) of my recent FUE experience. I'm turning 40 late this year (2017). Always had a higher forehead and gradual maturation of hairline. In general, this never bothered my until the last few years when I started to develop a "W" shape recession (think Nick Cave) - meaning that the forelock region was getting increasing thinner. Receding hairlines never really bothered me, as I would grow my hair slightly longer in the front to mask. But the thinning forelock was really bothering me. After using natural treatments (saw palmetto, vitamin B complex etc) + minoxidil for approximately three years, the thinning slowed but continued. I decided that I wanted to "get in front" of the situation before it became super obvious to more than just myself and researched procedures for approximately 1 year before deciding to embark on one in late August 2017. After many long nights lurking on forums and meeting with a few FUE practitioners, I decided upon Dr. Feriduni. To be honest, his attitude and approach during the consultation period (approx 6 month wait + another 5 months pre surgery) was what impressed me the most. In general I was happy with my hair, he saw "zero" miniaturization, and basically said "please don't go lower than here" as we discussed. He understood why I wanted to undergo the procedure but was also very nice about saying that if we did, it needed to be very conservative. At any rate here are some pictures. I wanted to post and will continue to as I noticed that there aren't many very recent shots of his (and his staff's) work, and even less with photos with people with hair long enough to cover the approach. You all are the experts, so hopefully this work so far looks promising and good. I am quite pleased with the whole experience so far. A note on his staff and what I've learned. He supervises but does not do the extractions or implantations. That said, you can tell his staff know exactly what and how to execute. He always kept a watchful eye and did all of the incision work himself. I think it's important for people looking at getting procedures done to understand who actually does what. In my mind, having two techs that are experienced and professional apply the donor hair, this reduces the time that the hair is sitting out. My procedure was over in about 4 hours, including prep work and post wash. Comments (good or bad) and advice for my post-op experience highly appreciated!
  11. Mav, I would just like to repost the following that you wrote because I believe it is important for Dr. Feller to answer. "1) your position on FUE seems to just be based on your own experience performing the surgery 2) I understand that you have not attended an ISHRS or other conference in person in years 3) you appear to be unaware of who exactly the new and upcoming FUE surgeons actually are. Dr Lupanzula is a well respected FUE surgeon recommended by this very site and who actually presented/gave a demonstration at a FUE conference hosted by Erdogan in 2015 and which was attended by some heavy hitters like Shapiro, Wong, Feriduni, Lorenzo and others. Yet, you yourself admitted you had never heard of Dr Lupanzula until he posted on this thread. 4) I am not even convinced you have seen a live FUE from one of these top FUE surgeons in recent years. I could be wrong on this point. " Not being aware of Erdogan and Lupanzula as a hair transplant doctor in 2017, especially considering their work on the research and FUE conference circuit is outright shameful. Not only is it a terrible look, but it looks very, very hard to believe. It looks like desperation, particular considering Dr. Feller's claims that FUE isn't popular or growing in popular. Clearly an outright lie or pure ignorance of what the available ISHRS data about the growth in FUE procedures indicates. Shouldn't a top doctor be paying attention to facts and statistics? One would hope so. Again I think everyone agrees with the crux of Dr. Feller's argument as to why FUT is the better procedure for most, however there is clearly a lot of dishonesty and inflammatory, unrealistic rhetoric going on. There are FUE surgeons like Erdogan and Lorenzo who are consistently producing better results than 90% of FUT surgeons when looking at similar graft counts and hair textures, regardless of whether FUT is the better procedure.
  12. I had an in-person consultation with Dr. Konior and we talked about FUT vs FUE. I need 1500-2000 grafts and Dr. Konior told me that he would choose FUE for me without a doubt because of the way I like to style my hair (keeping it very short on the sides). He explained that there have been many advances in the FUE procedure over the years and he now thinks it yields excellent results. I didn't go in to the consultation requesting FUE, and even though I prefer FUE due to less visible scarring at shorter hair lengths, I was open to the idea of getting FUT if Dr. Konior thought that was my best option. He didn't, and confidently reassured me that FUE was the right procedure for me. Dr. Feller, I know you have a fantastic and well-deserved reputation for your FUT results, but in my honest opinion, using such strong, emotional language like "FUE ... rips the graft from the scalp", "FUE is internet hype", and "FUT [allows for] the least amount of trauma known to man" doesn't really help your case. When there are top-tier surgeons like Konior, Hasson and Wong, Rahal, Erdogan, Lorenzo, Bisanga, Feriduni and many others recommending FUE and getting home-run results, it’s hard to make such strong claims against FUE without inferring that you also believe these surgeons are running unethical practices. Finally, speaking from a personal point of view, I have no problem with the *idea* of FUT. I’m not concerned at all about having a strip removed from my head. I’ve had larger medical procedures done and to me FUT surgery seems like no big deal. My biggest concern, by far, is that the FUT scar prevents me from wearing my hair short on the sides. I’ve seen some FUE patients with undetectable scarring at a grade 1 which I just don’t believe is possible with strip. I want as few limitations as possible after my hair transplant, and for me I think FUE is the way to go.
  13. FUT yields better FUT done well provides a far smaller total area of scarring FUT does not diffuse the donor FUT takes the best section of the donor FUT does less harm to the grafts FUT maximises the potential of the donor - All that being said, there are some FUE surgeons - the usual suspects (Erdogan, Couto, Lorenzo, Lupanzula, Bisanga, Feriduni) who are getting better cosmetic results than the vast majority of FUT surgeons with the same amount of grafts, but even inarguably rivalling the cream of the crop FUT surgeons like Dr. Feller. And that's all there is to it. FUT is better in the vast majority of regards, but for the best FUE surgeons the vast majority of the gap is closed. Even in regards to yield and consistency, Lorenzo for example has inarguably more results than any FUT surgeon in the world available for viewing online and has the track record to rival any FUT surgeon in cosmetic improvement per graft and consistency of high yields. Some people just don't want a strip cut out the back of their head when they can instead just go to a surgeon like Erdogan or Lorenzo who 49/50 times is going to get results equal to ANY FUT surgeon.
  14. Hi! I have been reading more about it on the forum but I am still not entirely sure what it is and/or how it works. I am in my early 30s and would like to put off surgery as long as I possibly can, as Dr. Feriduni has recommended to me. I have thought of a few questions then. 1) What is it? The info I find online is mostly marketing/promotional stuff so I am not going to believe that. 2) Are there brands? If so, which are the best/worst? 3) Is this a skill in itself i.e. are there doctors that are better in it than others? 4) Side effects? 5) Is it a long-term solution? Any assistance would be much appreciated!
  15. In my opinion, the scar looks a little irritated and red. Otherwise you can not say after three weeks how the next weeks and months will. Look at my scar from Dr. Feriduni. No longer visible. You have to be patient.
  16. Other docs in belgium, Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Feriduni, Dr. Lupunzula Bit higher in price though.
  17. I wouldn't base anything off of online consultations, unfortunately it's difficult to know whether you have thinning in the donor region without seeing what's going on microscopically. You live in Sweden, I would suggest taking a short flight to consult with doctors in Belgium like Lupunzula, feriduni, bisanga or even England like Dr. Farjo and Dr. Reddy, if this is something you're seriously considering then it's imperative you see a doctor in person, there's no way of knowing for sure whether you are or aren't a candidate for surgery. To answer your question, if you have thinning in your donor zone you should NOT be getting surgery, because that would mean that the transplanted hair is susceptible to DHT, thus transplantation would not work because the hair would miniaturize and fall out. You would also put yourself in the position of possibly exposing surgical scars whether it be FUT or FUE. Again by the photos your donor zone does not seem diffused, I can clearly see the crown demarcation lines which is a clear sign of genetic patterned alopecia.
  18. Thanks for this feedback! It is actually a 3.5V as the bit behind the forelock is going and is quite bad now. I am going to be meeting with the usual Belgians/Belgian based doctors over the course of this year. The only issue with FUT is that I won't be able to shave it down in the future should it get worse. I think at my age it should be quite stable-ish now though. Dr Feriduni said to wait until I am 35 before touching my crown as he would like to see the pattern before advising. He said to wait until next year for my frontal third for the same reason so I will be following these guidelines (pending in-person advice from them, including Dr. Feriduni)
  19. Trix, I just read your comments where you said that Dr. Feriduni's consult fee does not go to the final cost of the procedure. That's unusual to me however, I still stand by what I said. Dr. Feriduni is a world renowned surgeon, I'm certain with a long waiting list given his outstanding work. I know you said you feel like you shouldn't have to pay for a 45 to 60 minute "chat" with him, but an hour is actually a pretty long time, especially if he's scheduled multiple consults in a week or even a day. Think about your career. If you were in high demand for whatever you did and people were lining up at your door, would you be giving away your services for free if/when you could be getting paid? I know I wouldn't. Again, I understand your desire to get it for free. But understand that you are selecting an outstanding surgeon with a world renowned reputation. What's an extra couple hundred bucks for a lifetime of thick, natural looking hair from one of the best surgeons in the world? That's my opinion. Bill
  20. What is everybody's opinion on them? Dr. Feriduni has said I can have a consultation but have to pay 217 euros. I think this a lot of money for a 45-60 minute chat when I am there to assess if I will be spending 10k+ euros (more if you factor in the inevitable future procedures). I also think it is a sneaky way of just tying you into the clinic by getting you to invest, financially, in that particular clinic. On the other hand, Dr Feriduni is world class. What are people's thoughts on the matter?
  21. You didn't address the fact that you made up the 75% number or simply took it from Dr. Feller's quotes. You didn't address the fact that you quoted a study on FUE by a doctor who has only done 80 FUE procedures over 9 years. Your stance hasn't changed IN SPITE of the evidence. You'll continue your tune no matter what unfortunately, even if that means making things up or quoting bad data by an FUT surgeon who opens his study stating that FUE is a poor procedure and doesn't state a number of important controlled variables such as holding solution. The crux of your argument is backed up by evidence; FUT grafts are of a higher quality and have less force ultimately inflicted upon them, and these will on average yield higher. FUT for the average patient will also yield more lifetime grafts than FUE. Beyond this, why do you have to make things up and quote bad data on FUE that's either fifteen years old or by a surgeon who has barely done FUE? Why make up the 75% figure when European surgeons such as Lupanzula, Feriduni, Erdogan and Keser have studies and results counting yield to confirm this is not the case? Hasson + Wong even state on their website that they believe they can "cherry pick" grafts with FUE and that the yields are equivalent. They also noticeably studied and learned FUE techniques from Dr. Erdogan, not Dr. Feller for example. Everyone here who has researched and looked at hundreds of results from doctors across the world is aware that you are exaggerating on your criticisms of this debate, whether or not the principle is correct. It sounds ridiculous because people only have to look at the FUE section of this website from the past year to see that your claims are unfounded. It isn't a good look. The fact is that there are FUE doctors yielding over 90% on a consistent basis and more and more doing cases moving up into the 6-7-8000 graft numbers through FUE across multiple procedures. 5000 FUE in a single pass is visible on various forums on a daily basis and from surgeons like Erdogan not only does the average donor look pristine a few months post surgery, 95% look pristine, totally at odds with claims that more than 1500 is unsafe or that FUE isn't suited to megassessions.
  22. Dr. Feller, I never called you names or anything. Even defended you. But this is the 3rd time you calling me out (and only gave one apology for saying that I am working for an FUE clinic secretly). If there is any misunderstanding or any info missing, you always could have contacted me. Instead you did explain yourself only to a third party, after (!) I gave my name but did not apprach me directly or in the forum. Why? 1. Wrong: I send my name, offered skype and phone and NEVER EVER heard back. 2. Wrong: I said long (!) ago, that I was on a business trip and do not use the company computer for online forums and even more important: I went away after you said you do not accept my conditions. Should I stay online until you change your mind? Unlike you I do not have business in this topic and only spend my freetime here. 3. Wrong: I had three conditions, which I never changed from my first post. 4. How do you know that I would do that? How could I do actually stop you from posting it, sue you? Why would not mention my name and “playing it clean” reduce the worth of the discussion? 5. Wrong: I gave you my name and offered skype and phone as well (just in case you do not want skype. I just assumed most clinics use skype anyway for online consulting). The conditions were there from the very beginning. 6. Ok, if this is the truth, it would be great and I appreciate that, but why haven’t you done this a long time ago? 7. You blew me off? I gave you my real name, after you accepted in public and I never ever heard back until you chatting with third party over it. Again, If you change your mind, I do not have any problem with it. But then just send me a PM and everything is fine. This is the chronic of our discussion (just corrected some spelling): Gasthoerer 4:24 PM 5/21/2017 Dear Dr. Feller, you are indeed passionate about this topic and I appreciate that. Of course I would be interested in this in such a call, cause it would help many hair loss sufferers including myself. However, I have two conditions which are not negotiable: 1. I will send you my name and everything, but I do not want it to be exposed in the net. I am afraid it might affect my career. 2. This must be played clean. No slugfest like in the other threat. Especially if the other clinics opt out, I do not want them no be called "cowards" etc. Not everyone is as open as you in the net and this has to be accepted. Also this are currently my best options for a transplant and I do not want to get in a fight with them. I will answer as well in the open forum, but without being as specific about the second topic. Best regards, Gasth?rer Dr. Alan Feller 7:38 PM 5/21/2017 I can't accept any conditions. Everything and everyone has to be open and transparent or there is no point. Gasthoerer 10:33 PM 5/22/2017 Well, Dr. Feller, I am sorry to hear that. From my point of view, this would be an interesting discussion for many forum users. My conditions would not lower the value of this debate. I do not think there is a benefit for other users, when they know my real name, but I see a risk for myself. Hence, I stand by my conditions. Other people in other positions could think differently. Of course I would be happy, if you find some else for this discussion or have the discussion bilateral. Personally, I think an consumer would be additional value for this discussion. I can still send you questions which are interesting from my (consumer) point of view if you are interested. Maybe I post them in the forum on the weekend, when I have more time. Or maybe you can get Spex asking this questions or serve as a moderator. Thanks for the approach, Gasth?rer By the way: Above was you last PM! After my reply I went on the business trip. There was no (!) evidence for me, that you would change your mind and that I would delay anything by not going online during my business trip. Until when I was back, I saw you had posted in parallel and during my absence: 05-31-2017, 11:03 PM Gasthoerer Member Veteran Real Hair Club Member Join Date: Mar 2017 Posts: 65 Last Online: Today 10:00 AM Sorry, I answer in here, cause the other thread was closed. After that , I gave you my name the next day and never ever heard back: from you: Gasthoerer 1:23 AM 6/1/2017 Dear Dr. Feller, as you stated you won't publish my name, I'll send it to you, as I trust you honor you word. If you can "keep it clean" I am happy, if you contact either clinic. If you cannot promise that, then please don't apporach them. You have my name, which hopefully convinces you, that I am not involved with any clinic etc. Furthermore, I can send you the link to my "hair case" which I posted in a domestic forum, if this helps you, to judge the answers of the other clinics. But I fear that the pictures, will not to the case justice. All clinics have said that the status of my crown is difficult to judge on a picture. If you need specific pictures, let me know. Best regards, XXX (My full name) P.S. Rather than a phone call I would prefer skype, but phone would be also possible. P.P.S. You find me on Linked in (old profile) or XING (new profile) as well. https://www.linkedin.com/in/XXX/ By the way, you have made the same offer before in 2015. You could easily contact the clinics before approaching me. 06-08-2015, 03:15 AM Dr. Alan Feller Senior Member Celestial Follicle Club Member Join Date: Oct 2002 Location: Great Neck, NY Posts: 2,058 Last Online: Today 07:10 PM Hairweare, ... Tell you what, why don't you PM me your real name and phone number. Then I can make a three way call between you, me, and Dr. Lorenzo and you can hear first hand … You know what? We can keep discussing or both man up and call it a misunderstanding. Even though I do not like your style/behavior, I still like your passion. I will send you my phone number (if you do not like skype) and we go forward. Only condition from my side: My name is not being published. Nothing else. I would ask the same questions anyway in my next consultation with Feriduni in August and give insight here. But your opinion shared with Feriduni would improve the value dramatically.
  23. This picture was taken by Dr. Feriduni immediately before surgery.
  24. "Once you even referred to us as "mentally challenged" and "peanuts in the peanut gallery". It is for this very reason that I personally would never select you as my surgeon, not because I think you are not a very skilled surgeon." http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/161233-9-5-months-pics-1000-fue-dr-feller-not-good-so-far-9.html This along with his treatment of the patient and God complex presented throughout this case is my personal issue with Dr Feller. It's clear that his support of FUT is due to a passion, facts, experience and a feeling of ethical responsibility, however in presenting his case he CONSTANTLY gets himself into a position that shows a lack of empathy and understanding for the patients perspective, which is particularly devastating when he performs a bad result on a patient and often gets ugly. I will say agree with the majority of what he says to an extent and so would anyone who has looked at hundreds of cases, the prime examples with FUT being a higher success rate, higher yield, lower transection rates, less skeletonized and fragile grafts, a smaller overall area of scarring and donor damage, and a removed chance of taking grafts from a zone of future miniaturisation. I also agree that the big reason a SUBSTANTIAL number of FUE patients (maybe the majority) avoid FUT is simply because they are scared of having a strip removed from their head, plain and simple. The area I don't agree is that I don't have to be a surgeon to see that other recommended FUE only surgeons on this network are consistently performing successful FUE megasessions and multiple sessions that cross into the 5000-8000 levels with success and minimal donor scarring visible past a grade one. I did a long search for who I thought was getting the most consistent results of any doctor and I settled on Koray Erdogan, despite the fact that he ONLY performs FUE. He regularly performs 5000 over two days with little complications, and I'd argue gets more consistent aesthetically pleasing results than almost any FUT doctor I researched. We all know the other doctors in Europe who are achieving similar feats such as Lupanzula, Feriduni, Lorenzo etc. (many of who have more results to view online than Dr. Feller) The typical Feller response of "I'm not aware of their work" is clearly an outright lie, or stupid wilful ignorance. Notably the top end FUE surgeons are performing manual FUE. It comes down to the fact that there are a select few doctors who are primarily utilizing FUE that are more consistent and artful surgeons than the vast majority of FUT surgeons, and the prices in Europe make make it tempting too. There are successful FUT AND FUE sessions performed and posted on this website on a weekly/daily basis, and to deny that is stupidity. Many are aware FUT is the smarter option for a myriad of reasons, however just don't want a strip cut out of the back of their head. People should look at the RESULTS from as many FUE and FUT doctors as possible and make an informed decision for themselves. I think even with the awareness of what Feller says to be true, many would still prefer FUE.
  25. I thought Dr. Devorye was based in France? I know Dr. Feriduni is German. I am trying to get an appointment to see him in June when I am back in Europe but so far he is fully booked up! I am also between FUE and FUT after this thread. I will let the doctor decide for me. I am not sure if my scalp laxity is good or not as it feels quite tight to me but the doctor will know for sure. I have a "tuft" which is the perfect height above my eyebrows apparently but Dr. Feriduni also told me I should leave it for another year or two for the frontal third and until I am 35 (3 years) for the crown. This is why I want to see him in person (along with other doctors from my short list).
