Advice for Hair Loss Sufferers Considering Hair Transplant Surgery

My Story

  1. After dealing with hair loss and researching premium clinics and surgeons for a while I decided to roll the dice on the operation. General info about me: 30 years old male, dealing with hair loss since I am 22. I started using minoxidil around that age which seemed to reverse my hairloss for about 1-2 years, then my genetics overcame the effects of it and I started receding badly- at my temples mainly. my crown didnt start getting diffuse loss until I was about 27 and that's when it really started bothering me. also quit minoxidil at that point. I will include a picture about 2 weeks before the operation from the top and donor area: The top one is in harsh lighting so that makes it look way less dense than it actually is in most scenarios. 1-5 weeks post OP: I will include pics here in chronological order of both top and donor area. As you can see it seems like there is some shock loss around the back and side area of the donor. At around 3-4.5 weeks I lost around 90-95% of the transplanted hair it seems with a big shed. I would also like to add my post transplant regimen: I started taking finasteride 1 week post op(1mg daily) . Minox 5% 1 month post op on crown area only. first IPRF treatment at recipient area 1 month post op. Will have 2 more IPRF treatments in the 2 upcoming consecutive months .(once per month) Will keep this updated as months go by. happy growing to us all:)
  2. Yeah, Maybe you could attribute it to getting the iPRF done at the local BHR branch, but thats just a guess. Maras told me there is no scientific proof as to its efficiency, but according to his experience it has a great impact on the healing\growth rate.
  3. Hello. I am Aristos Anaxagoras, I am 31 years old and I work as a technician in HDC hair transplant clinic for about the last 6 years. Over the years I have seen the various results that we have achieved as a team and especially how satisfied our customers were and are. From an early age in my 20s hair loss began slowly and I wanted sometime in the future where I would stabilize about to go ahead and have a transplant. So now because of the situation with the covid-19 pandemic many of our clients have not been able to come to Cyprus to do the surgery and I found the opportunity to do mine. On January 25-26, 2021 I had the transplant and needed 2660 grafts to restore the front of my head. The operation was performed by dr. Kyriakos Maras and Dr. Christina Vryonidou with the rest of the nurses and technicians. During the surgery many of the clients told me that it is not very painful and that they can withstand the whole procedure just fine while others felt much more pain during anesthesia. What I can say is that there is indeed a little pain during anesthesia but nothing more than the feeling of bee sting and that it is something quite tolerable. During the transplant I felt no pain at all as after when I finished only a little burning in general in the head which immediately subsided only with painkillers. Now after a week I don't feel pain or burning. I post photographic material from before, during and after transplantation per day donor and donor area. I will try to post about the first few days photos daily to see the healing of the first few days. Before After the 1st day of surgery After 2nd day of surgery
  4. Henlo friends, I had an FUE procedure of 1800 grafts on Monday 07.12.20 at HDC with Dr. Maras. Should have been a week earlier, however I could not leave the UK at that time. Background So I have already shared some details in my initial post where I was considering several surgeons, but I'll collect and summarize everything here. I'll tell you guys "what happened", it's literally how Dr. Maras asked me to describe my hair loss situation. Started losing my hair at the age of 19. I had really long hair and a friend of mine pointed out that it's getting thinner and it's probably because I was lacking the vitamins to support a long hair. I went to my barber for confirmation, of course he said the same, so I cut my hair really short and realized that my hair was indeed a lot less dense and the hairline started creeping back too. Obviously I went through the denial stage, partly because I did the mistake of asking my family's oppinion. They all said I'm not balding, I always had thin hair, etc. I have no idea how on earth I was not considering the fact that apart from my brother (lucky NW1 bastard ), pretty much every single male on both side of my family is suffering from MPB like NW5-6 stages. So yeah, my biggest regret is not taking action when I could have reversed things. I did take some natural supplements like saw palmetto, biotin but that was it. Fast forward 4-5 years and again somebody kindly pointed out that I'm going bald. Again, I grew my hair out so it kinda disguised things, but a new short haircut revealed the actual damage. First of all, my temples were receded to NW3, but the worst thing is I had low density all over and a small bald spot in the crown area I have never even seen before! At that point it was pretty clear to me that give another 5 years and I'll be slick bald just like my cousins. But I also realized that I simply CAN'T be bald, first of all I don't have the right head shape and style and body (I'm fairly short and very thin) to shave it all off, and second, I believe it's something Melvin said once that having no hair just felt like.. it was not him. I had that same feeling all my life, hair is a part of my identity, and losing that would be like losing myself forever. I don't want to be so melodramatic, hair loss affects us all emotionally, but for some people it's a deep trauma, one that can not be erased as you look into the mirror every day, right? I've been depressed due to my hair loss, I spent a lot of time, money and energy in treatments, furthering my education in the subject and in between I had a life too, for sure, been in relationships, had friends, a job that I really like, but overall it was more like a half-life, one somewhat constantly crippled by the emotional trauma, loss of confidence and whatnot. If you're afflicted in the same way and just wanna talk, I'm here anytime. Treatment I started doing some research in desperation, came across a treatment-based forum called hairlosshelp (which is sadly defunct by now) and posted my story, got some honest advice and a few weeks later I started taking finasteride. Guys, this was like 11 years ago and I remember fin side effects were just.. I'm not gonna say non-existent, but I honestly don't recall ever reading anyone complaining of them. It was pretty straightforward back in the days: guys shared their story, got fin and minox "prescribed" and then posted some results 6-12 months later, mostly positive ones. In the last few years however, and especially most recently there's this new generation of hair loss sufferers who either wouldn't even dare touch fin or would complain of sides after taking a pill or two. "I can't take fin because it's causing constipation" was the "funniest" I've read. Anyway, I'm straying away from the subject and while I'm not saying fin side effects are not real, it's just weird these days "everyone" seems to be experiencing them. I can honestly say finasteride saved my hair, I've been maintaining my native hair since and even regrew some hair in the crown thanks to going down the anti-androgen - almost HRT - route. I don't wanna enlist all the things I've been using because it would require a new thread. Currently my regimen consists of fin every day, 0.5 mg dut every week or so, 100 mg spironolactone (decreased it from 200 mg after obvious sides) and topical minox (as well as low-dose oral) every day. Lately I've been considering the addition of a mixture of bimatoprost and minoxidil w/ dermarolling and topical dutasteride from Dr. Lupanzula. Last year I had an FUE of 1200 grafts at a clinic I'd rather not name (not a hair mill, more like in the mid-range but I should have went to a top clinic in the first place), they filled in my temples (I had some patchy vellus hair there, but was essentially a NW3) and the final result was a still patchy NW2-2.5. I estimate about 60% of the transplanted hair grew back. Pictures before the surgery with Dr. Maras These pictures were taken quite recently. Picture no. 1 reveals my main hair loss issues. As you can see, I've got diffuse thinning (most prominently in the frontal areas) and a very thinned out left temple region. The right side is actually okay. However if I styled my hair the right way (2nd pic) it could camouflage the thin regions in a way that somebody just recently said I've got a "full head of hair". Which is very, very far from the truth. For those wondering, it's not a combover, lol, you can see the top on the 3rd pic and the way it's parted. Next pictures reveal the crown and mid-scalp region, the latter is alright, however the crown is still a bit thin (although no longer have a bald spot thanks to meds). Last picture shows my donor area, well, it's hard to judge anything from that because I had long hair. RIP dear ponytail, see you in a year or so. Pictures after the surgery I'm not a big fan of pictures taken immediately after surgery where patients look like they were mauled by a lion, but hey, nothing gory means no glory, right? So I'll just share one. Now I analyzed my hairline in great detail, but even on this pic you can clearly see just how many singles HDC used, if you zoom in you can see the difference in the first 3-4 "rows" and the chunkier, bigger looking grafts behind it. Although I've read somewhere you can not always accurately judge this right after the procedure as some singles could appear thicker at their base. Anyway, my preliminary judgement is that the work is really, really good. The next 3 pics were taken yesterday, just ignore the face, pls, it's swollen, bloated, I look horrible. And lastly, 2 pictures of my donor area under different lighting conditions. Dr. Maras said that my donor area looks like it was never touched by surgery and I could get a few more surgeries. Sadly, I think he was very generous, I don't believe that's the case. Looking at my donor it seems to be mostly depleted, just too sparse, I could get maybe one smaller procedure in the future but that's it, I must maintain with treatment from now on. Also, for those saying that FUE is a scarless procedure, check out those FUE scars on the last pic. My heart sunk when I saw it, but hey, it's a trade off, I'm not complaining, but just be wary of this. Some people simply scar better than others, and while it's still not as bad as a FUT scar, but hey, that's the reality of HTs. I asked for a full report of the singles, doubles, etc. And will post it if anyone's interested. I asked Dr. Maras and he said the quality of my donor is really good (they could not detect any minituarization – I'm really glad HDC is checking this!) and was consisting of mostly triples and quads, which is great for density. I had only about 120 singles after extraction, so they microscopically discected 500 more just for the hairline. I think that's great and goes to show why HDC's results appear so natural. Any questions or comments are very much welcomed.
  5. Hi everyone! My name is Ryan and I'm 37 from the USA. My topic may be a little bit different than most. Perhaps we can view it as a cautionary tale (hopefully one with a redemption arc! )! I had two pretty successful FUT procedures with Dr. Scott Boden in Connecticut back in 2009 and 2010, totaling approximately 3,750 grafts. Although the very frontal hairline and the left side of my hairline near the temple weren't as dense as I had hoped (Dr. Boden and I agreed I could use a few hundred more grafts), the result was all in all pretty life changing. So of course I took it for granted, stopped taking Finasteride because I had somehow convinced myself my frontal half was mostly transplanted hair anyway, and lost so much hair over the last decade it even shocks me looking back at my post-op photos. 2009 before any surgery (my hair was pretty long then and we went with no-shave both times so these are the best photos I have) 2011 final result, taken at my 1 year follow up after my second FUT procedure It's pretty crazy how quickly after these photos were taken how aggressively I lost more hair! I never looked at these photos until recently or took new ones to compare. As time went on, stopping Finasteride about a year or two after surgery, and taking no other preventative measures, it just thinned out more and more until I realized about a year ago, wow, I'm basically bald again! Right as COVID started about a year ago, I decided to get back on Finasteride and started Rogaine foam, and began researching clinics again. This time I knew I wanted FUE, so I could get some grafts put into my strip scar, which had stretched quite a bit, while we were at it. Originally, I was thinking of going to Dr. Boden for a third pass, but when I discovered he uses ARTAS for his FUE procedures (something I decided I wasn't comfortable doing), I hit the forums here pretty hard, looking for the best in the business in frontal half scalp work and hairlines. After getting some consults, I decided on Dr. Maras at HDC in Cyprus, and had surgery last Monday and Tuesday. Pre-op Hairline and area design Graft breakdown 3773 grafts (approximately 300 placed in strip scar) 834 singles 1599 doubles 1340 triples (HDC didn't say whether I had larger graft units, and if so, whether they were included in this number) 2.134 hairs per graft (based on my math) After two days of surgery Firstly, I want to thank my advisor @Doron Harati . For the last several months, no matter the time of day, no matter how ridiculous the question, he has been there for me no matter what. Regardless of how this result turns out, Doron is phenomenal and is clearly in this business because he cares about people. It feels really good to know I'll have his support through this. I also need to say....wow. The recovery has been much worse than my last two procedures. I absolutely feel 10 years older. Currently, I'm 8 days post op, and already managed to bang my head and lose a graft, and get prescribed an anti-biotic due to some poor scab healing. It's also a real pain trying to sleep when you can't sleep on your scalp grafts or your FUT scar grafts. For those curious, right now I'm taking 1mg of Finasteride daily (and have been for roughly the last year), some collagen and plant based protein powder daily (along with eating really well and exercising regularly...though the clinic wants me to wait a month to start working out again), and just ordered some MSM tablets to hopefully help speed up the growth. I'm also currently debating on whether or not I want to begin Rogaine foam again. I'm reading different things recently on whether it's a good thing to use or not, and am a bit torn on it at the moment. The clinic wants me to wait 4 weeks to apply it again if I chose to do so, so I have some time to decide. Anyway, I do hope to document my journey here. I'd love to get some feedback on how I'm healing in my upcoming posts, and how the growth is going once it starts.
  6. This patient was 33 years old and NW4 when he had his repair procedure by Dr. Maras and HDC medical team, he had an unsuccessful FUE in a hair mill at Turkey for about 2500 grafts and you can see this result in the before photos. The clinic team covered the area with only 2400 grafts due to the fact that this patient is a potential class NW5, in order to save donor for future needs. He visited the clinic 3.5 years later to arrange his surgery for the crown, he wanted to see if there is more donor to cover the crown and for when to proceed. This is when we captured his result. Due to the good preservation of his donor we expect to be able harvest another 2000 grafts for the crown in the future. 7. After reading many positive reviews I took the plunge and had a HT by Dr Maras at HDC back in early December. As you might have guessed based on the title of this post, I’m really unhappy with how it’s gone! I’ve tried to write the below without too much bias and focus on the facts that are visible from the photos so you can draw your own conclusion! It’s only been 4 months and we all know that you need to wait longer than that to see the end result, but what you can see right from the outset is the shape of the new hairline. Before the HT I was a very stable NW3 and just looking to subtly bring it back towards a NW2: Dr Maras came up with a hairline design, I asked for it to be slightly higher as I only wanted a subtle improvement. I was a simple case, only needing 1800 grafts, and I trusted him to design a natural looking hairline. After the design, I went through to the operating room and lay face down for the extractions. After a short break it was time for the incisions to be made. I sat back in the chair, slightly uncomfortable as it’s a bit weird when you can’t feel the back of your head against the chair due to the anesthetic. Dr Maras stood behind me to start the incisions, he said that the hairline that had been drawn had smudged where I had been lying face down. Standing behind me he redrew the outline, he didn’t check it from any other angles before starting the incisions. When the HT was complete, we went through to the other room for pictures to be taken. I vividly remember Dr Maras commenting that the anesthetic can cause things to look uneven and saying, “don’t worry we haven’t given you a wonky hairline!” Here’s some pics from immediately after: When I look at the picture taken from the front it’s immediately apparent that the right side is higher than the left. You might be tricked into thinking that my head is leaning/turned to the left however this is because the hairline has been skewed off-axis. Whilst the picture is taken ever so slightly from my right side, if you line up other features such as my eyebrows and ears you can see that they are reasonably level: The left side is what I’m most unhappy with, here’s how it looked at 2 months: This is at 3 months, note the difference in symmetry between the right and left, the left slopes downwards at an unnatural angle: I’m no expert when it comes to hairline design, but Dr Ron Shapiro has some pretty good material on the subject like this paper - https://shapiromedical.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/article_hairline-design.pdf One thing he talks about in that paper is frontal-temporal angles: · Key points – “Do not flatten or totally fill in the frontal temporal angle” · “Slight temporal recession or weakness of the FTA is normal in the white male hairline. Therefore, flattening or densely filling in this recession is a mistake and would make the hairline look artificial” Comparing his example of a bad hairline design with the hairline Dr Maras has created for me! Now I’ve got 6 months of waiting for this to grow before I can get other doctors to review and decide what can be done to fix it. In my opinion the slope on the left side is unnatural and the temples will need to be punched out to try and create a natural look (which will result in scarring). This is really depressing situation to find myself in!
  8. Hi @DaveTay,I am the coordinator of HDC clinic in Cyprus Nicosia, we are recommended on this forum with Dr. Maras and Dr. Christina, if you interested I can quote you 2.0 Euros per graft, the price includes our free accommodations, I myself had a repair procedure at HDC by Dr. Maras after being botched in hair mill in Turkey. You can PM or WhatsApp +972526542654
  9. Hello, My Name is Sharon Magor I am 46 years old, first I want to thank @Doron Harati for assisting me the whole process. Before arriving to HDC, I closed a deal with a hair mill clinic in Turkey but few days before I decided to cancel, I wasn't aware the there are differences between technicians clinic vs a clinic that the doctor is doing himself the procedure. I heard good recommendations about HDC, the results looked very natural and I contacted Doron due to his both experiences by a hair mill and his 2nd successful procedure by Dr. Maras, he explained me the meaning of microscopes using and why it's important that only a doctor must do the punch and the incisions. I had 2 surgery days, 1st day 1990 grafts, 2nd day 1578, total 3568 grafts. I want to thank Dr. Maras and HDC medical team, all went smooth and clean, I am very happy with my result and new hairline, after 2 days of surgery the clinic team cleaned my scabs by washing my scalp for 4 days, 2 times a day. Best decision I ever made, really changed my life, I recommend you all to have a hair transplant transplant by HDC This is my before and after result including my preserved donor.
  10. 2900 FUE grafts by Dr. Maras and HDC medical team for NW3 paitent, hairline was created from only single under microscopes for natural look, upper scalp was created from double and triple grafts. 14. 3000 FUE grafts, repair procedure by Dr. Maras at HDC clinic in Cyprus Nicosia, this paitent had before FUT strip procedure by a local clinic in Italy and came to enhance his density with a new hairline, this repair wasn't simple due to the exist grafts from previous procedure, Dr. Maras made the new incisions carefully between the existed grafts which you can see at the final result with higher density and a new hairline. ** Please PM for free consultant: WhatsApp +972526542654 Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/326632715435825/?ref=share Instegram: https://www.instagram.com/doronharatihdcconsultant/?hl=en
  15. Hi Guys, I would like to share with you my experience so far with my procedure carried out by Dr. Maras at HDC clinic, Cyprus. BACKGROUND: I’m 41 y/o. My baldness pattern is “high forehead” started to grow in my early 20’s and still seems to be slowly on-going. I’m about Norwood 4-5. My crown is also getting thinner but not enough to justify any actions yet. It was reasonably agreed the transplant will cover only the forehead with an initial estimation of 3500 grafts. Not taking any meds or hair treatment products. After considering several options, and studying the area enough - I’ve decided to go ahead with hair transplant at HDC. I met the local representative in Israel which gave me a real picture of the entire process, what to expect, etc. I’ve also met in person 3 ex-patients who underwent the same procedure at HDC and was convinced I may be able get close to optimal results. PREPARTIONS AND OPERATION: Everything went as planned and expected during the two-days procedure (March 15-16). The entire team treated me with tons of patience. On the first day I met Dr. Maras and the HDC team. After a quick corona test, Dr. Maras and myself discussed and set the expectations – Why I’m there, what would be a success from my point of view (which is a natural result), what can be achieved under the circumstances, which areas will be harvested/implanted, etc. Then Dr. Maras sketched a first draft of the hairline. He also stated there is a slight room for margin (and indeed I asked to lower the hairline by another 2-3mm). I must admit as a patient its hard to know “what is right” hairline height and shape, and its crucial to have a good and experienced team to advise you here. I also had a concern about a restoration of the temporal peaks and we agreed we’ll get back to it later on. As expected, Dr. Maras performed all the surgical activities himself – he had punched the donor area then the assistances manually collected the grafts after holes had been created. Later on Dr. Maras made the forehead incisions, preparing the area for the assistances to place the grafts harvested. In between the local team divided the grafts extracted into groups of single/double/triple using microscopes. I should note that some double/triple were manually cut into singles to increase the singles number while extracting less grafts and preserving the donor area – so I was explained. On the first day we dealt with the front hairline and the front forehead area, and on the second the back of the forehead was filled in. All in all there were 3842 grafts: 2011 on the 1st day and 1831 on the 2nd. POST-OPERATION & PRILIMINARY RESULTS: After the operation I stayed in the HDC’s apartment for another 4 complete days. I arrived to the clinic for head washing twice a day and after flying back continued to wash the sculp using the special shampoos provided by the clinic. The immediate side effects (swelling, itching, sleeping discomfort…) which were unpleasant but tolerable lasted for 1-2 weeks. I can see that the grafts density is slightly higher in the frontal area (beyond the first 2-3mm singles hairline), I have a more dense area compared to the back of the forehead. As I was explained, it will provide a thicker look when I’m looked at from the front, and after the hair re-growth the differences between the areas should be smoother/invisible. ACCOMODATION & FLIGHTS: In my opinion this is the least important factor when choosing the clinic, but Its nice to relax in a nice place after the procedure... The conditions were very good and I was provided with everything necessary to pass the first days of the surgery and recovering time. I was accommodated in HDC newly renovated apartment with adjustable sofa (good to spend the first nights sleeping in an upright position). Flights, corona tests, permissions to entry Cyprus... all was carried out by the local agents/clinic, which was a huge hassle with all the pandemic restrictions. The before pictures: After the 2nd day: Will be uploading more results as soon as I have any...
  16. It’s now been more than 6 months since my transplant by Dr Maras at HDC, here’s an update on how things have progressed. If you saw my last post and didn’t think it looked wonky hopefully this video (taken at the 2-month mark) better shows the issue: I’m really unhappy with the slope of the hairline on the left-hand side and the way the temples have been rounded off. I think you only see rounded temples on very juvenile hairlines. In the Bisanga case, mentioned in the post above, the patient’s hairline has been brought right back to a Norwood 1. Mine is still a Norwood 2, but with rounded off temples. You just won’t find a natural hairline that does that. This is another good video where Eugenix talk about the importance of not doing this - https://youtu.be/Sf9xwD3h2PM?t=201. By the four month mark my native hair had regrown. On the left side, where my hairloss wasn’t as bad, the transplant had only covered a few mm below my hairline, then chopped off the temple angle in a completely unnatural way, the red skin you can see in this pic: On the right side I had a bit of wispy new growth at the 4-month mark: At the 6-month mark on the left-side I’ve resorted to shaving the rounded off temple, the redness has mostly faded so I can make this look more natural: On the right side the wispy hairs have grown and thickened up a bit. The density is about half what it needs to be to give that “illusion of density”: All the hairs are now a couple of inches long and I haven’t seen any new growth in weeks. I’m still holding out in hope of another batch of hairs bursting through but not optimistic. I reckon the density is less than 20 grafts per square cm. There’s a couple of areas where I don’t appear to have any growth: The grafts, particularly on the right side, haven’t been implanted flush with my scalp so I’ve got some ugly tenting/cobblestoning. It looks worse on the hairline, coupled with the lack of density it’s not a good look: Going back to the rounded off temples, I’m having to shave these to avoid an unnatural look, the red lines on the pics below show the actual hairline, the hairs I’ve shaved down will need punching out ☹ One last issue to add to the list, the zig-zags Dr Maras does on the hairline are too defined and don’t look very natural: So, to sum up my feeling on how things are looking at 6.5 months: - Wonky unnatural hairline, punch outs will be needed at temples - Really poor density, hoping for more growth but I can’t see any new hairs coming through, some completely bare patches - Cobblestoning/tenting – think the best option will be to add some more grafts to camouflage it, not sure what else can be done - Un-natural zigzags - grafts will need to be scattered around them to make them look less defined. I’m still a few months away from being able to get any ethical clinic to look at this so for now all I can do is adopt this Hollywood hairstyle and try not to let it get me down 😊
  17. 3304 FUE grafts by Dr. Maras at HDC clinic in Cyprus, 3 years post result for 28 years old patient NW3 class, the final result also include the donor area preservation, hairline was made only from single grafts for natural look. ** Please PM for free consultant: WhatsApp +972526542654 Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/326632715435825/?ref=share Instegram: https://www.instagram.com/doronharatihdcconsultant/?hl=en
  18. @MC10298 Yes, I actually can show a result after 10-11 years with that area, this paitent was botched too, he had 3 dissatisfied procedures, then he had 2 repair results by Dr. Maras, on the first\4th procedure at HDC, he had HT on the area you marked\side head temples:
  19. I think that is one of the nice things after a successful procedure that patients can just move on with there lives. For me the only thing missing from this image is improvements to the temporal peaks. Does Dr Maras work in this area? and if so do you have any examples?
  20. As you all know I had 2 hair transplants procedures, the 1st in a cheap black market clinic in Turkey, also I almost died because of the overdose of anesthesia, after more than a year I had a repair procedure at HDC clinic in Cyprus by Dr. Maras, on this post I want to talk about some the aspects of correct professional clinics procedure vs black market clinics procedure. 1) On my 1st procedure I had mega session of 5000 grafts in 1 day, which is wrong! Professional clinics mostly do around 2500 grafts in 1 of surgery, most of the procedures are done in 2 days and even 3 days, it takes a lot of effort that the doctor will do the punch and incisions while the technicians use microscopes to clean and divide the single, double, triple graft groups properly, cheap black market clinics don't use microscopes and let young unexperienced technicians do the punch and incisions on a very rushed manner which can kill the grafts. 2) If you'll zoom the pictures you can see that on my repair procedure I had different size diameters slits, on the first day Dr. Maras did single grafts on my hairline by using thinner diameter needles for the incisions and punch procedure, each patient have his own kind of hair and skin that requires different tools to work with. On my 1st procedure, the technicians clinic did the whole diameters the same, another way to kill grafts is by creating wrong diameters that don't fit the grafts, I see on many groups that paitents upload post surgery photos with all the same diameters issue by cheap technicians clinics, but the patients tend to praise that work just because it looks they got many grafts allegedly. 3) Dr. Maras created my hairline with a zigzag line that gives natural look, the cheap technicians clinic did symmetric line which is wrong and will produce unnatural pluggy look, this is another main reason why only a high skilled doctor should make the hairline with a zigzag with artistic touch, cheap black market clinics mostly do symmetric line or weird lines that won't give you the natural look. 4) Correct hair angles are also important, it's not only enough to take care of the grafts but also to implant them in correct angles to produce natural look with great cover. * This post is focusing on professional info, if you want to read my whole journey of both experiences, please visit my thread and my groups on my signature:
  21. Most cases we don't do punch out\relocate grafts, this may cause small spots white scars over the recipient area. We implanted over the existing grafts, I myself had the same kind of repair by Dr. Maras.
  22. I want to thank Dr. Maras and HDC team for repairing my hair, I was in terrible condition from my first experience with Arenamed. I am 36 years today and had my first HT back in February 2018 at Arenamed clinic in Turkey Istanbul with an escort service with a local agent in my country that represent Arenamed, before the surgery I was promised in a contract, that I will have 5000 grafts ( mega session in a day) WITH NO SCARS, my experience at Arenamed was horrible! I had 10 hours surgery, very painful procedure that almost cost my life! They injected me too much anesthetic, which caused me to faint on a wheelchair, puke and vomit for 12 hours, body temperature was cold and squirm! They called to an ambulance and the doctor determined that my blood pressure was low due to anesthesia overdose (I am not allergic to anesthesia), after I recovered in my hotel, I couldn't sleep, I continued to threw up in the toilet and the head was too painful so I couldn't sleep! After a year me and the agent agreed my HT was a FAILURE, BUT he refused to admit I had scars! I went to a specialist they approved with a latter my donor area got scared due the HT surgery, PLUS the surgery hurt MY NATURAL HAIR, so the HT was failure, I got scars, I almost died from medical malpractice and my natural hair got damaged. The agecny only offered me free HT at Arenamed but I refused and asked for a full refund and he refused even after he didn't provide what he promised on paper, we had a fight without understanding and no agreement. Few months ago the same agent texted and THREATENED TO SUE ME! For telling my story but I ignored him and followed the rules by lawyer's advice. MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD! Now for the good part with the lovely experience at HDC in Cyprus At first I met Dr. Maras, his team and the representors in my country, I was very emotional and told them with tears my story, I explained them I am ashamed to go out by the way I look now, I feel my appearance and my confidence was destroyed, they calmed me down, and promised that everything will be fixed, Dr. Maras explained that my luck is the fact that Arenamed didn't touch my donor area next to my ears (strong donor area), they were very empathetic, they explained me the whole procedure will be totally different in much nicer way. Before my arrival to HDC, I met 7 patients that had HTs by Dr. Maras, all looked great to me! 4 of the patients, had REPAIR HAIR TRANSPLANTS, and 2 of them were like myself customers that had a huge let letdown from the first agent that work with Arenamed, also I months over months learned a lot about hair transplants, the difference between Microscope FUE, to Mini FUE to only eye using FUE, how to preserve grafts, why my first HT failed, how not to make scars, hair punch mm, ect... When I arrived to Cyprus I felt much calmer compare to Istanbul, the apartment that HDC provided me was clean and modern. The 2 days surgey by Dr. Maras went clean and easy, with small injections, no pain, no issues I am now post 7 months since the REPAIR HT and I couldn't be happier with the results! Full hair with no scars as promised! Dr. Maras and HDC team regained my confidence and youthful look, I HIGHLY recommend *** If anyone want to ask and consult me, feel free to PM me privately *** The pics will show you comparsion between 3000 Euros HT by Arenamed vs 6500 Euros HT by HDC.
  23. 4954 FUE grafts by Dr. Maras at HDC clinic in Cyprus, paitent was NW6 class with few diffused hair, he had 2 procedures, first procedure was done in 2015 with 2866 grafts to cover the frontal with a new hairline, 2nd procedure was done on 2017 with 2088 to cover the middle scalp, the paitent was 24 years old on his first procedure, these are recent photos after 4 years from both procedures, the paitent can have a 3rd procedure over his crown with his preserved donor *Bigger sessions up to 4000-5000 grafts can be conduct in 1 surgery of 2-3 days if the clinic approve the donor is strong enough without being overharvested. ** Please PM for free consultant: WhatsApp +972526542654 Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/326632715435825/?ref=share Instegram: https://www.instagram.com/doronharatihdcconsultant/?hl=en
  24. Hello everyone, I would like to share the results of my surgery with Dr Maras at the HDC clinic in Cyprus. I posted a few months ago on another forum and you are welcome to have a look at the full thread with details of the surgery before and after in the hair transplant section on Bald Truth. I am very pleased with the results so far and would like to share my photographs prior to the operation and the results so far. I had spent months researching surgeons and was extremely careful about choosing the most ethical and skilled surgeon. Dr Maras and his clinic fit that description perfectly. I was about a Norwood 5 or 6 prior, so the plan for the surgery was to deal with the surgery in two surgeries. The first with approximately 3,000 grafts for the front, and the second operation to fill in the back. I am considering the second operation to sort out the back in future, but my main priority is to save as much donor hair for the future as possible. Dr Maras also stated I had a very good beard so this is a very good bonus. Dr Maras Did the hairline design, Most of the extractions and Incisions while the technicians did the rest of the extractions and the implants. I am very pleased with the results at the front so far at six months, and would like to share them here. I will upload more Pre and Post Op pictures in Future. Pre operation 6 Months Post
  25. I have seen incredible results by Dr. Maras, very happy for you. Looking forward to seeing your updates and progress.
