  1. Miker and Darth Mel- I'm form TO myslef and have visited Jones a few months back. im prior to HTs and would love to talk to you guys about him and his new technique... give me an email if you can at: d_zeev@hotmail.com cheers lads, DZ
  2. Dear Yankeeman, I'm pre- 1st HT but have been doing a lot of research, which you HAVE to do if your even thinking of going this route. This website is incredible for that purpose but there are also others. dont read the posts yet. start with the research library and Pat's basic descriptions of follicular unit transplantation. know the numbers, the math and the science of it. then talk to some guys out here on the forum who have been through this a time or two like futzyhead, Jotronic, Arfy, NW and others. talk to some doctors too, and THEN...you will have a better idea of what questions you still have. believe me, its taken me a good 4-5 months of intensive reading and chatting to feel confident that i know a bit about this. dont give in to the pressure to do something and keep smiling. cheers, DZ
  3. hey figsy.... where did ya get your HT and how many grafts did you do? you happy? cheers and happy growing DZ

  6. Hey Dart, I too am contemplating a 1st HT with Shapiro, and I met with him and spoke with his staff too. I am worried about the exact same things as you. However - I woudl put to rest the scar issue as Dr. shapiro did make me feel like this was not an issue to worry about as their scars are very fine and heal well. I trust him on that. No- shock fallout is the concern, but one that he really cant completely control as it is nature's reaction to the process. sure- he'll work slow and careful but who knows how you'll react? In any case the best thing to do is continue to ask people about their experiences, and share info that way. talk to former patients, maybe even try and meet them in person. let me know if you come up with anything. good luck my friend. D
  7. Dork & Co. I am a little concerned hearing your experiences, since I about to go into my first HT and I still have a lot of hair on top and front. (not nearly as much as i'd like to think i can have with an HT but still...enough to fear shock). I am also thinking of using a well known and respected clinic and they have assured me that while there is a risk its minimal and that any hair that was destined to fall out in say a years time anyway would not be expected to go back. I'd like to hear more about how much hair you had before the HT and after the shock fallout. Also- did you talk to your doctor about this before and after? waht did her say?
  8. oh yeah a very important question... so if ive been off it for a week or so and i go back on it is it like i never was on it? does the 4-6 month initial thing start all over again? has any body ever gone off and back on propecia? THX DZ
  9. thanks for your comments NW and Westwood. the dr.s i mentione din my post are very experienced ones and are also into hair loss research, and they do claim to feel that the propecia coudl cause a negative permanent result in a FEW rare cases...now of course, i am willing to admit to my panic reaction, but is it not possible that the drug could induce shedding (even permanent) in some cases? I dont think any of the advocators of propecia or even merk would want to look to heavily into this what do you think? (PS- im not being negative about all this i truly want as many experienced thoughts on this so i can make my own mind up - im just a little new to this and concerned) cheers and thanks for the responses, DZ
  10. This goes out to all you propecia users and advocators...(doctors too woudl be great). I started using propecia when i noticed my thinning to get to upsetting. i was on it for around 6 weeks and noticed a RAPID loss of hair! I consulted with my friedn an endocrinologist and his partner (a dermatologist) and they both thought i was reacting badly to the Propecia. I got off it and went on a topical solution, but of course, the jitters set in, and i wonder if i should have stayed on the propecia... I read few posts on other sites that some people have had similar reactions, though some gained that hair back an dothers were still waiting...i'm looking for some experience based advice if someone has encountered this seeming increase in shedding on propecia... you commenst are well appreciated you can email me directly at: d_zeev@hotmail.com cheers gang, DZ

  12. Cutlass - I am incredibly happy to hear of your great experiences with Seager, as i went to see him to see if he could help me. I still have hair on top and crown but he did not think i would experience shock fallout. i also am thinking of using dr, shapiro, and my question to you is: what norwood were you destined to be when you started all this 2 years ago? What color and density hair do you have? when you say that the front and top are a good density- how good? can you jump in to a pool and not worry about how you look after? I'm just asking 'cause i have tons of concerns and fears before i consider doing my HT. I appreciate a reply at d_zeev@hotmail.com Thanks DZ
