  1. Just to stay positive, I still have faith in Intercytex. This "update" was not supposed to be an update with new information about the hair cloning. It was just a financial update that is done every quarter at all publicly traded companies. The "real" update will come in the second half of this year (2008) when the first batch of the phase II trials hits the 12 month mark. We shouldn't expect anything before that.
  2. Count me in as another who will definitely be affording it if it actually comes out.
  3. I never noticed any hairs falling out when applying dermmatch. Make sure you wet the applicator and have damp hair first.
  4. I don't believe you are missing anything. The FDA trials which approved propecia were done using doses of 1mg every day. That is the only officially approved dosage for treating MPB. From word of mouth, it appears that you may also get benefit at 0.5mg but I know of no studies confirming that. It is reasonable to expect the benefit at a lower dose would be somewhat less. It should be much greater than half the effect though since the DHT levels do not drop linearly with dosage amount. I remember reading that 1mg of Propecia drops DHT levels about 70-80% (I dont remember the exact number) as much as Proscar (even though Proscar is basically just 5mg of Propecia). Based on what I have read, I believe that both sexual side effects and hair retention are due directly to a decrease in DHT. There is no other reason. No, the half life is 6 hours. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finasteride
  5. I have had a bad experience with Propecia. It really hurt my sex drive/capability. Not to be gross here, but when I was using it I noticed my semen volume getting less and less over a month or so. Eventually I no longer had any semen at all during orgasm. This combined with seriously reduced sexual desires was the final straw. I am too young to lose my ability to have sex and have children. I didn't notice any difference in my hair, although I probably wasn't on it long enough. After I stopped using it, I was back to normal in less than a week.
  6. I am thinking of having transplantation surgery and there is one thing that keeps bothering me. I really don't like the idea of a strip of scalp being taken out of my head. I am imagining that after the surgery, my scalp is going to feel "stretched" over my head since it does actually have to stretch in order to close over where the donor strip used to be. I know that skin is stretchable but I am thinking you can still feel it if someone takes your skin and permanently stretches it tighter than it's supposed to be. So is it true that your scalp feels "stretched" after surgery and this is a constant unnatural feeling that you will always have to accept? If so, does this feeling ever go away completely?
