  1. I agree with the assessment of Vocor1 concerning the above post. I believe the people that participate in this forum and view the topics are way beyond the fluff.
  2. Even good hair transplant physicians have patients with large orunacceptable donor scaring. The more procedures you have the risk of scaring increases.
  3. I have not seen one single person posting a question how revise a scar or correct any form of FUE surgery. All you see on this and every other hair website is people trying to find answers to correct and revise traditional surgery. What does that suggest?
  4. Be aware that there are no doctors in Mass or Rhode Island performing total follicular unit transplants using high power microscopes. You will have to travel to. It is misleading for doctors and clinics to use terms such as "micro follicular unit grafting" as this is not the same as "follicular unit surgery"
  5. A doctor should not perform hair transplant surgery on young men 30 and under. Some hair transplant doctors advertise that "you don't want to look bald like your fathers and grandfathers so keep up with your hair loss now" You are never finshed with one or two procedures so if you "keep up" with your hair loss and keep having surgery you are in a negative position when your donor runs out. Also, If you keep having strip surgery, the risk of severe donor scaring increases. Not a very incouraging scenario.
  6. Can we see a picture of the donor scar from the same surgery?
  7. Are there any medical standards for performing hair transplant surgery? You have a qualified physician with credentials such as Dr. Bernstein MD who is a dermatologist surgeon performing this surgery. Now you want to lower the bar to let non medical people as Dr. Greco perform the same surgery? It would be nice to see some of the doctors on this site comment on this topic.
  8. I think I am representative of the average person that enters the hair transplant spinning wheel. You think that one or two surgeries will get you want you you want to only realize that you need another and then another. The doctors do not tell you this up front and may even give you the impression that one surgery will do when they know you would need multiple surgeries. They do this because they know you would go to other doctors and the other doctor would tell you that you need more than one hair transplant. There are people posting here that admit to having 6 or more surgeries. Do you think these people would have gotten involved in this surgery if they knew they would have that many procedures, and maybe more to come if they knew what they would be getting into. Someone said that once you get involved with this surgery it never stops. You alsys need another.
  9. "I've even let my patients go swimming in the ocean by the third day for years and never had a problem." I am puzzled at your comment about swimming after 3 days post op. I thought gentle shampooing and rinsing after several days post op was OK. However, swimming in the ocean after three days would seem to soften the scabs. People will also shampoo and rince after swimming to further soften the scabs. Some doctors have told me to nothing for a week after surgery including shampooing. It seems that every doctor has a different set of values concerning this?
  10. The doctor should have been the guy that experienced the wrath Louisville slugger.
  11. Instead of having a list of the best surgeons, why not have a list of the worst surgeons? It would help narrow the search and prevent dissapointment.
  12. Sorry Dr. Beehner, I do not agree with you about golf not being a physical activity. Hitting on the driving range, walking 18 holes and swinging a driver is certainly a physical activity. Especially in the summer where temperatures rise to uncomfortable levels. Why risk any negative occurances with irritation or infection after the surgery. Isn't it better to opt on the side of caution rather than chance?
  13. It does not look natural to have a dry, kinky or wavy transplanted area when the rest of your hair is straight and shiny. Unfortunately you have to have the surgery to see what happens.
  14. Greco is not a medical doctor. The hair transplant industry is not regulated and that is how Greco gets away with performing hair transplant surgery. Legally, he can not perform hair transplant surgery without a real doctor being on premisis. Greco could not legally remove your tonsils. But he can cut into your head. If your going to have the surgery, at least use a real doctor.
  15. 48 hours is not enough healing time. You don't want to sweat or create a situation where your blood pressure rises. It may disturb the grafts.
  16. There are no qualified hair transplant doctors in Massachusetts capable of high quality work. Be careful and don't get sucked in by fancy radio or TV advertising as the air waves are flooded with hair transplant commercials and informercials.
  17. Micro follicular units are not acceptable and outdated and you are confusing them "follicular units dissected with a microscope" Don't fall prey to false terms!
  18. (He did an outstanding pain free job.) I hear this all the time from hair doctors. It hurts and that's plain and simple.
  19. Bosley will never straiten their act out as they have created dollar/profit/complaint philosophy. In other words, the volume of business overall outweighs the capital lost via bad press and complaints.
  20. If you had bad teeth you can get expert dental work performed by most any dentist. If your dentist did not give you the perfect smile you can always get another dentist to easily repair what your previous dentist could not. You can't fix a bad hair transplant so easily. People accept you with thinning hair. People stare at you if have a bad hair transplant.
  21. I had several hair transplant surgeries years ago and my head is still numb and at times painful.
  22. Forget about Dr. Destefano or Dr. Leonard in Mass. They do not practice the FU dissected with a microscope but use mini/micro grafts.
  23. Even the supposed good doctors get bad results and no doctor has 100% success rate. So what if your one of the people that gets poor results?
