  1. Hi there, I am post op two weeks, have removed the staples and most of the pain factor, got a nice short haircut with a good stylist, and headed back to work today. I actually thought it would be harder to show up at work but it wasn't at all. I didn't do anything except my hairstylist knew how to hide the scar area and blend my hair in with much shorter area on top. I am VERY EXCITED to get back on my feet and start a new life! In few days I will start my usual workout routine at the gym, and hope for the remaining soreness to disappear soon. I Can't wait for the hair to grow back!!!:-) MY QUESTION IS: Now, what kind of regimen should I decide to take, beside the daily PROSCAR, (to protect and promote my investment!)??? What are your findings about best possible: Shampoo? Vitamins? Topicals? Intakes? etc? and frequency of usage. I keep hearing about Nioxin Shampoo; good Multivamin, Fish Oil, B-complex; MSM, and Mederma for the recipient area. Appreciated, Emerald.

  3. Hey Kez, thanks alot man. The more I hear these kind of statements, the higher my reassurance of the decision. I will definitely try the Samba Brazilian Steakhouse; I have had the best steaks ever in Rio. Regards.
  4. Hello my friends, Alright, I am a Norwood 3/4 and have finally decided to JUST DO IT! I believe it's ENOUGH with the research and time to take some action. I have asked many questions from doctors, patients, and also others that have not done anything about their baldness. I have tried to answer many questions for myself to determine whether I REALLY need this, and will it actually make a DIFFERENCE in my life and what about the way others would perceive me afterwards. I have tried to hunt down and see few results, and have thought about the short and long term worst case scenarios (which seem to be recoverable and minimal chance of happening in good hands). I have chosen one of the best doctors possible and willing to dish out the costs. Although one cannot forsee the future and it's tough to be 100% sure of the decision in this case (where I may still get bogged down with those 5% distractional comments like "just accept it man", "so what", "sell yourself the way you are", etc) but I think I have made the right decision to deal with this PROBLEM at this time and will deal with the unforseen consequenses. Thank you my friends for your well thought inputs/advices. I intend to pay back by sharing with you my honest opinion throughout this journey as I progress. Emerald (soon to take the chair!)

  6. OK you hear about all sorts of good HT results after one year or two but I don't remember reading or seeing any evidence of long term effects of HT. I'd like to find out more about the results where the HT was done 5-10 years ago. Can anyone tell me (or point to messages) that proves for me that this thing will last!? Thanks.

  8. Robert, Sorry I don't get it. Are you saying only the physicians that contribute become members or some of the selected physician members contribute?! Who selected the physicians based on those criterias and is that the recommended list on the HTN? May I know the physicians that keep the site runnig? The reason is that I am going to decide on my HT doctor mostly based on my research here and need to know that information. Thanks.
  9. Does any clinic owns/sponsors this forum or HairTransplantNetwork site? Who are the doctors that sponsor this site? Thanks.
  10. Hi, I have been instructed to do scalp exercise before the procedure. I am just wondering how effective this is and do you have to continue this exercise after the HT? I have read so many posts and if this is that important I wonder why I had never read anything about it before!!

  12. Great thanks. I will check it out but I'll make sure I won't miss a post here.
  13. I am really hooked to this forum and think it's great. However, want to know if there are other forums out there that I can double check about a few doctors. I just want to make sure. Anyone knows?

  15. You people are incredibly helpfull and seem so sincere. Thanks alot. I just had my first consultation with Dr. Simmons. Originally I thought I choose one best doctor and do it but looks like I got to consider seeing others as you suggested. I think I should give Dr. Jones a visit as well. Dr. Simmons told me it will take 2 sessions of 2800 grafts each, and each session costs $10,500 + GST. I didn't think I needed two sessions really, and I wasn't expecting to cost that much either! Can anyone tell me how much it will cost with Dr. Jones? Then I guess I got another decision on the way...!! Thanks, Emerald
  16. Mitch, Just like your casino experience, this whole thing is like gambling to me! I have to decide to do this and I'm not sure if I will like the end results; however, if I decide to do the HT I got to make my decision between Dr. Simmons or Seager. Any difference between qualities? My other major concern is the costs, they told me I need two sessions of 2800 grafts each which you know how much it costs. I wasn't expecting that much and not that I can't afford it but thinking maybe to do only one session! Any other information will be appreciated. I have not looked anywhere else as I expect these Dr.'s to be the best in T.O. Thanks, Emerald
  17. Thanks Lorenzo and 'son of a plug!'. OK, I am new here and in the early stages of my mission. Maybe it is my lack of experience/knowledge at this time that don't understand when you say 'base your decision on what is best for you'! The best thing for me is to do this as natural as possible; therefore, I'm thinking it requires one of the best doctors and best techniques around (which I read it is FU approach). So based on what decisions did you guys pick Dr. Jones?? Are you guys completely satisfied? I heard Dr. Unger is good, anyone knows about him? Just one last question, and hope doesn't offend anyone, I am wondering how I can eliminate my suspicions that the opinions or recommendations posted here do not come for the purpose of promoting one's business!?
  18. Hi, Can you recommend the best doctors in Ontario? I have finally made my decision to do this and want to hopefully find the best surgeon in my area or surrounding (Toronto, Canada). My family physician recommended in order: 1) Dr. John Golahar 2) Dr. Paul Cotterhill 3) Dr. Seager Can you also share your experiences and opinions regarding these doctors? Thanks so much, Tony
