  1. The caution note regarding use of Finesteride in pregnancy is not drawn from any new study. I read it in the BNF. BNF( British National Formulary) is a joint publication of the British Medical Association and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. BNF contains info about drugs that are prescribed in UK. Info is drawn from the manufacturers' product literature and from pharmaceutical and medical literature. It is also available on the internet www.bnf.org
  2. I thought I will share this info with you guys especially those who are planning to start a family. I read in the British National Formulary that Finesteride is also excreted in semen. Therefore I would suggest to those of you who are planning to have a baby, to come off Finesteride for more than 2 weeks before attempting. You can go back on it once pregnancy is achieved but to use condoms thereafter.

  4. Finesteride is also excreted in semen(British National Formulary March 2002). If you are planning a family then I am afraid you have to come off Proscar/Propecia. Try for the baby only after coming off Finesteride for more than 2-3 weeks. Once your wife is pegnant then you can go back on Propecia but use condoms religiously and don't let your wife come in contact with the tablets.
  5. I think Finesteride is also secreted in semen. You may have to check the manufacturer's info leaflet. If it is then I would suggest to come off it while you are atempting to conceive and once pregnancy is confirmed you can go back on it but to use a condom thereafter.
  6. Cap I had my HT in Manchester by Dr Farjo 2 months ago at Farjo Clinic. They also operate on Harley street in London. They are cited on this site among the 50 clinics. I am pretty happy with the service they provided. Its too early to say about the HT result though.
  7. My shock loss started at around fourth week and still going on. I am also on Proscar(Finasteride)and I heard that it also causes shedding initially. I am not sure how much is shock and how much is shedding.
  8. I had my HT 2 months ago at the Farjo clinic Manchester. I encountered very good customer service and they were very accommodating. I was given correct information before surgery as I did my research before going in. Dr Farjo and his team are very professional. I got 1570 FG. The scar has healed nicely. I just had my second haircut and none of my friends have noticed it. I was advised by Dr Farjo to take Finesteide(Proscar 5mg)half a tablet every second day. Its too early to expect anything. I guess it will be another 5 or 6 months before I notice anything. You tend to lose fair bit of hair 3-4 weeks after HT, likely shock, also finesteride causes shedding. Whether they regrow or not, I don't know. Well good luck with the surgery
