  1. I am always surprised by how many guys can wear a hat to work. I work in an office - there is ZERO chance that I could wear a hat in the office. Only muslims or sikhs where I work can wear headgear inside - it would be considered bizarre and totally unacceptable for a white male to do so - I envy people who can without causing a major problem.
  2. Please do not tell me you are really having a strip surgery for just 600 grafts In my view that is just plain unethical by the doctor. I doubt you will listen to me but if I were in your shoes I would put the deposit down to experience and cancel the surgery. I would then do a LOT more research.
  3. Yes, I can guarantee it does 'something' - it makes you poorer!!! Seriously, if this thing had a significant effect on reasonable percentage of people then I believe we would have heard by now.
  4. Kez, you should not be reassured, right now the Government is trying to pass a bill which means taking the mickey out a religion (even if what you are saying is true) will be against the law. Comedians such as Rowan Atkinson (hardly the most right wing people) are rising up to fight these new laws but the Government has yet to back down. It wants to keep the Muslim vote happy (we have been taking the piss out of Christians for years - nobody gets het up about it).
  5. pushing 40, there are no guarantees but I think you are an excellent candidate for an HT (and there are not many about!). You must do what you think is best, I would not start taking Propecia at 40 but it is your call.
  6. Administrator, why does my post not show up??? Surely this is an ideal case for FUE????
  7. Good grief, Dr Woods is doing FUE and Dr Martinick is doing Strip excision, the two are not comparable. I think you need to do a hell of a lot more research but the key question to ask yourself is: Will I be comfortable having an ear to ear scar across the back of my head? (this means never again having a serious buzz-cut). If the answer to that is yes (for me it is a definite no-no) then Strip might be your best option. It ultimately depends on what you are happy with.
  8. NO, you will get an ear to ear strip scar of course, Dr Martinick does Strip excision. It sounds like your desires may not be achievable.
  9. After a strip HT you should not count on EVER being able to shave your head again. That is just the reality of the situation.
  10. hawk, I think you made a wise choice, good luck and let us know how you get on.
  11. We already have doctors producing almost monotonously good and consistent results doing strip HT's in the 4000 to 6000 graft range. The results look fantastic. I am not a fan of strip as I think FUE is the best way to go (assuming the funds are available) but even so these results cannot be denied and if some can do this I see no advantage in doing multiple small sessions - the results speak for themselves.
  12. kienast, OK, I will comment, you need to do a LOT more research before making this decision in my opinion. I would not be following your course of action based on what I have read on different hair sites but ultimately assuming you are fully informed you must then make up your own mind.
  13. Assuming that you are satisfied your chosen doctor is up to the job (and this is where doing your research comes in) then in my opinion yes, bigger is clearly better. Artistry is obviously critical but there is at least some truth in the saying "It is all about the numbers".
  14. I am not attacking you, all I said is talk is cheap. Rather than push PeterMac to take what most sensible people would see as a legal and financial risk why don't you 'step up to the plate' and do it yourself. You don't want to and I don't blame you - it could prove very expensive
  15. dhi doesn't have any right to give petermac permission to discuss anything...this country gives him the permission to discuss it no matter what dhi has to say. if there's a legal madate that prevents his free speech, he has to state that in no uncertain terms, otherwise any failure to disclose what he knows is just a matter pf personal convenience. Well, if you believe all this to be true, why don't YOU, pc, pay a lawyer to draft a legal agreement that YOU, pc, will be liable for all damages and costs that PeterMac would have to pay DHI or other interested parties should he say anything. Of course YOU, pc, will also have to pay for PeterMacs lawyer to verify that the document will work (you have sufficient assets etc.). Talk is cheap.
  16. If DHI wants to advise me who posted the information in question and give me permission to discuss it then I can make some comments. Until then this is a topic I am not allowed to discuss. Seems pretty clear to me, you need to be asking DHI to give legal sanction to PeterMac if you want to know more. I suggest you ask them.
  17. No, read his post again. PeterMac is not saying the contents of the post are a lie. PeterMac is specifically not commenting on the contents. Good grief, some people just never get it.
  18. Balloonman does get overexcited and personal far too often, however, he is intelligent, knowledgeable and very experienced. He also stirs up essential and important debate sometimes and even though I may strongly disagree with his opinion it is important to raise difficult and uncomfortable topics for the education of all and to air the 'other point of view'. For those of us with a thick skin his banning is a loss.
  19. I do not think anybody should limit their choice by how far they have to travel, HT is too big a step. If, however, you insist on going to a local doctor, in my opinion right now you have to go and see Dr Feller.
  20. A hell of a lot of people fell out with Pat and got banned.
  21. **** May be, when I grow up to have more courage, I'll share it with some. I hope the plan works for people like myself. **** Mortimer, when I have an HT I plan to not tell anybody either (say I'm taking drugs). I live on my own and will go for FUE so I am hoping that will help. If you manage to get away with this I recommend you never tell anybody you know whatever the temptation. Even if people suggest you had surgery flatly deny it. The sad thing is people can be very hurtful without realising it (although some sub-humans do it quite deliberately as well). I know if people at work found out about such work they would never let me forget it - good grief I have been bald for 15 years and it is still mentioned every other day by somebody. Best of luck and keep us updated on how you get on.
  22. Those are very clear pictures of the work done on Parable. In my opinion he should get his money back AND damages.
