  1. Hello, I have been reading some on this forum and doing abit of research. I am looking to have consultations with several surgeons to talk about my situation, but most of the most discussed and praised surgeons are located quite far away from my country. I live in Norway and i was wondering if there are any elite surgeons around my area (europe/northern europe). I will not settle for anything less than a well renouned (sp?) surgeon with outstanding results. I am currently studying some pretty tough business studies and my time is mostly spent reading and attending classes - therefore traveling all the way to ex. Canada to have a consultation with Hasson & Wong and Dr. Rahal (three surgeons i would love to visit for a consultation) is abit of a timesink i would prefer to avoid (if possible). Therefore i wonder if anyone knows any superb surgeons in northern europe that i could visit with a short flight and back the day after? Thanks, Fredrik

  3. Would anyone have any information regarding this surgeon? I have only read one site with 5-6 testimonials (independent site) from some of his clients which all are very happy with him. He operates in Pakistan, the UK, and Scandinavia. I see that he takes a fee for consulting him, is this normal?

  5. As far as i understand, the strip method is done by cutting a rectangular slice of ones donor area, then to extract hairs from that piece, while FUE is plucking out the hairs like you would on a chicken. It would seem pointless to do the first mentioned method, so I'm possibly wrong about this - would you mind enlightening me?
  6. When looking to consult a surgeon, would you steer away from the ones that performs strip alongside FUE? As far as I've come to known, the strip method is vastly outdated?

  8. I am 19 years old, so this is not something i (very unfortunately) cannot do in the near future as i might be yet another victim of MPB in the years to come. By the way, would there be any way a professional person could predict the chance of having hair loss due to MPB in the future? I guess this is hoping for too much, but hey - it will probably be doable in the future if isn't already (DNA/Stem cell observation or something in that direction). Also, when thinking about starting up using the recommended drugs - is this something that would be useful at all considering i really am not sure i am suffering from hair loss (yet)? This might be a potential waste of money.. I would really like to go see a surgeon to get really professional answers to all my questions, but i live in Norway (which means this sites recommendations are void for me at the moment) and i am not sure where i would go to consult a professional surgeon. There is not a Norwegian community for these things, so this is a big obstacle. It would be troublesome if i have to travel to USA or some foreign Europe country just to have a 30min talk with a surgeon EDIT: I came over this guy, he 'stops by' Norway as well as other countries, does anyone have anything to say about him? 9. Sorry for the poorly formulated topic title. Anyway, to my situation and question; I have a high hairline and i do not think i have lost any hair (if so, little). Would there be possible to 'plant' grafts (is that what you call individual sacks of hair?) in an area (well, basically the upper forehead) even tho there has never been any hair there? It seems that most users on these forums are having their transplant on top of areas that previously had full hair on them, in my case this is not needed. In the quest for a good-looking hairline the question is; Is it possible to transplant hair to an area that has never been occupied by full hair growth, effectively creating a brand new hairline?

  11. Thanks for a great and long reply. I have always had a high hairline, and no signs whatsoever with starting to lose hair. I kind of expected what you said - that it simply is to early to go through such a thing at this age, and that i might be a "victim" of MPB later. I am in no rush getting this done, altough i would like it out of the way as soon as possible, and im sure u can understand that - however i will defenatly take your advice and wait. Having a high hairline runs somewhat in the family, whereas my father has the regular MPB thing. As of now, i can say 100% surely that im not experiencing any kind of baldness in any shape or form, simply a hign hairline. Quote: "The bottom line...DO NOT get a hair transplant at this point. If you are one of the priviledged men who don't experience Male Pattern Baldness (MPB), then by the time you are in your late 20s and/or early 30s, consider getting a hair transplant then to lower your hairline." What is the reasoning with waiting with lowering the hairline even if i would experience MPB later? Would this harm me in a certain way? -- Thanks alot for a good and well written reply, Best of luck, Fredrik
  12. Hello, I am new to this forum and i want to start off saying this resource is an immense help for me and every other person out there related to topics covered here. First off, abit about myself and my problem: I am a 18 year old boy from Norway studying at a universety at the moment. I have set myself some great goals in life - and as i am working towards them i have one huge bump in my road - my high hairline. I have a high hairline, making my forhead look larger than normal, making it a quite prominent (can i use that word?) part of my face. This i hate, i loathe it so much. I feel i could look so good if my hairline was normal compared to now, it really ruins my self-esteem and confidence. It has costed me alot, but it will no more - i've decided to "lower" it through hair transplant and get a normal look. I want to add that i have no what so ever signs of baldness or losing hair, i have healthy and medium/thick hair - my problem is solely that my hairline is drawn quite hign on my forehead/scalp making the forehead so visible . I am asking you - please offer your advice! Where to go? Who to see? What information to study? I realise i probably will have to go abroad for this treatment, and i want to give it all - i want the best, we only live once right? So why settle with anything less. Offcourse, i am only human and i cannot pay a million dollars, but i do not want to settle with anything less than a perfect result (dont we all). This for me is not only a hairtransplant to give me the apperance i've always wanted, it is a step for me on my road to achieve something great in this life, and i need the confidence and self-esteem to be there with me! Thanks in advance, and may all of you have the best of luck with what ever project you have going on - be it hair transplants or not. Humble greetings, Fredrik, Norway.
