  1. I know what you mean Parable, you're right I dont believe they are trustworthy. Rocky I also continue to hear good things about Dr Knudsen, do you have any more info to add to your recommendation. One thing thats frustrating in Aus is the limited choice of Doctors. The US and Canada seem to have many top quality Doc's. Frustrating but I will conti\nue to research and see what I find. Do you have a before shot Rocky. Parable, I remember you said you went to DHI (i think) to get your second, how's it all going?
  2. Yeah I know, long time, I was just enjoying the new hair. Nice to see your still looking after the forum and btw great results, im sporting a similar hairstyle to yours. Its no stress and you dont have to worry about anything hey. Got to love that. i figured i should get back on line and talk more about my experiences now that everything has had a chance to grow. My views on Dr Barry White... Dont do it. I have had a chance to compare my results with many before and afters and can say with conviction that I could have done better. However, and this is important, I am not saying that my HT is bad, far from it, I think its a good HT, just not the best and probably not that close to the best. The density is quite good, the hairline is actually quite good in terms of its accuracy to my original but the hairline density for the first 5 millimeters is poor. Its this aspect of the result that makes me style my hair forward as opposed to up or to the side like I would normally. So to any Australians researching please feel free to ask me any questions, I will probably get another done soon and will start to re-research soon, I do continue to hear positives about Dr Martinick so will definitly have a look there, (que 'she's amazing' comment from Damo, just joking mate, you've every reason to be happy : ) Th worst thing is, you get the front fixed, your happy as, and then the back starts to say 'see ya later'........ damn
  3. Ok, sorry im a bit late to join this thread. So Hawk how did you go? Who did you choose? I havnt posted for about 8 months so im a bit out of the loop. Damo I see your still a big advocate of Dr M, I remember you saying you were off to get another procedure done, how's it all going?
  4. damo, How are you mate, Ive also heard that waiting 12 months is the go. Ive accepted that I was going back for more also, my 2184 grafts were all on the front half of my head and even though propecia is working wonders for me I know the back will eventually thin out. No stress though, HM is only around the corner (10 years or so) so no big deal, eventually donor hair will not be an issue... hows this, I bet by 2020 all you will have to do is take a pill from the chemist and no one will have to ever worry about hairloss. Anyway, getting off the topic, from what ive seen on the forum (s) most really good results come from multiple sessions. The goal for most of us is to get to the stage where you dont even think about it anymore. I personally would wait a year for sure. Some say your only at 20 - 35% of results around 6 months and even if you were at 60% the next 40 is going to make a big difference. Anyway its new year and were on the road to recovery in hair land so its all good. cheers qvarnis
  5. Hi guys, Yes, for sure some pics on the way very soon. Everything looking good, scar is only just visible and i think 2 mm wide at the most (quite happy with scar), hairline still coming on strong, always good. Parable, good to see you back on the forum, mate would you believe I found this forum and your story only 2 days after my HT with Barry White, you can imagine how freaked I was. In the time between I have done much more research and comparison with other forum members so I am not stressed at all now, everything going very well. Not sure what happened the day of your HT but I agree that your scar should never have looked like that, Im glad you've got it sorted though mate, nice one. I need to upgrade my mobile (cell phone) with one of those cameras very soon so some pics will be up as soon as that happens. Cheers qvarnis
  6. damo and Dr Fuzzy Looks like weve found a bit of an Aussie forum contingent, excellent, hopefully more will discover this forum and learn what we have. Hope the Xmas period is all good for everyone out there in electronic HT land. Merry Christmas qvarnis
  7. Hi Brandon, Mate I believe the hairs that start growing as soon as their transplanted can just resume their normal cycle and so may fall out as part of this. My understanding is most hairs have a 2ish year cycle of growth, fallout and rest then re-growth. It could simply be this however it also depends on how much hair your talking about. I would invite extra advise from some of the veterans of the forum. Over to you guys.... qvarnis
  8. Nice one, Mate that latest pic gives a much better perspective, I can see why your wrapped, Im hoping for a similar result. Got to love the feeling of freedom that comes with a result like that. You got to get out to some clubs and start bustin some moves on the hotties, ha haaaa. All good. qvarnis
  9. Domo how are you mate, Just wondering if you can post some front on pics with a bit more light. Your hairline looks spoton but some more light would help. qvarnis
  10. Hi Damo, A little hard to tell from the photo's but looks good to me, a shot from above would be great. Im 3.5 months post from Dr White in Melbourne. I had to make the choice between White and Martenick. From my research I concluded both could offer a similar result, and went with White more for the convenience. Contrary to many people's opinion's on this forum im very happy with my results so far. My hairline has grown back very close to what it was and the density is excellent. I have read all the horror stories on the forum, perticularly the ~parable~ experience. I only discovered the forum a couple of days after my HT. Considering where you were going and where you are now I reakon you should be very happy, not to mention the fact that you would still have some serious growth for the next few months. I will be interested to see how its going so keep up the pics, I too will post some at 6 months. Best Wishes qvarnis
  11. Hi Everyone, Now this is an interesting one, I was looking back through my teenage years photo's (27 now) and had an thought. You see, many of my friends from those time were quite heavy pot smokers, when I say heavy, I mean 2 or 3 joints a day. Bizzarre thing is out five of them that I have seen recently 3 are NW 5 or 6 and another is well on the way. My question is whether pot has a negative effect and perhaps promotes loss? Maybe its just a coincidence, anyone have any thoughts or similar experiences? On that, I wonder if any other recreational substances have negative effects? BTW, I mean no offence by this thread I think it could be interesting and may apply to some! Cheers qvarnis

  13. Ha haaaa, Excellent, you should be excited my friend. You've done your research paid your coin and now you just enjoy the ride. MSM is the go, cant believe what a difference it makes, my hair has never grown faster, got to love that.... But seriously mate post op is such a good time, kind of like a second chance, just kick back and relax, try not to look at your head too much and prepare for the bus load of hot chicks that are going to start busting moves on you down at the pub... well I hope that happens for you, in any case its all good. Enjoy qvarnis
  14. Robert, Excellent, I didnt even see this section. Glad you started this as ive had a few questions on this topic. My view on fitness is all good, im mean you cant really go wrong and i believe since ive focus even more on it post HT it has has some major benefits. The physiological bene fits are obvious, we all know a healthy body is a heathy mind and all that, but i tell you what! combining the physical benefits of working out/fitness with the excitment and anticipation of knowing your hair is growing back is a great feeling, does wonders for your return to how you were with hair (sad, i know that there is a difference but there is, we all know the deal). Always good, anyway for my fitness i get into some mountain biking - maybe 10 to 20 km a week, weight workouts at gym 4 times a week, plenty of walking around etc, as much snowboarding i can in winter. Its interesting because a HT provides an opportunity for more than just hair regrowth. Its a time to re focus yourself and get back into it. I have found fitness to have many positive effects physically, mentally and in particular socially (important when going from little hair to lots, the whole social thing). I must get into this nitric oxide (i think that is what its called, N2O) that i have seen in a previous post of yours Robert. My understanding is the increased bloodflow post work out is the benefit but ive found it hard to get in Australia, i may look online. I would imagine combined with a good workout regime and diet N2O would help you gain weight because more blood flow equals more food for muscles, for longer? Is that right? Anyway we should get this section going, im sure theres a heap of info out there. qvarnis
