  1. They are being sued by Illinois State Attorney General, Lisa Madigan: http://www.chicagonow.com/blog...-institute-lies.html For those of us suffering from androgenetic alopecia, I personally think low level laser therapy is junk science. I have used the Hair Max Laser Comb for 2 years. I do not think it helped alleviate the situation. Companies such as the one in the article and the makers of the Laser Comb will always make millions because millions of us are ready to spend on anything new that is introduced to the market which can slow down, stop, or reverse the curse. I cannot understand how we are approaching the year 2010 and still there is no cure for hair loss.
  2. Your donor area was meticulously sealed. The scar is barely visible. Absolutely phenomenal!
  3. Does anyone have any additional information about the NeoGraft device for FUE surgery by Dr. Alan Bauman. It was on Rassman's blog and he gave his 2 cents on it. Here is a link to the article about the NeoGraft: http://www.prweb.com/releases/.../03/prweb2207244.htm http://www.prweb.com/releases/.../03/prweb2207244.htm

  5. I received a prescription for Avodart from a general practitioner back in September. I tried it for one month. Initially, taking .5mg a day and then 1.5 mg every other day. By the second week I was experiencing pain in my testicles. The big surprise came when my girlfriend and I noticed a dark/brownish color to my semen. That's when I panicked and went to a urologist. The urologist told me it was blood and what happened was that the avodart was shrinking the prostate - as it is supposed to do. During the time I was on Avodart,I also noticed that my metabolism slowed down and I started gaining weight. This became very noticeable to me. Overall, Avodart resulted in hormonal imbalances for me. I doubt I will get back on it in the future. I've been on Propecia for several years prior to trying Avodart. I now take 2mg Propecia everyday and mix in Proscar every other day.
  6. Nizoral 2% will help treat your dandruff. The 2% is by prescription only in the US; however, you can buy it online from a Canadian pharmacy without a prescription.
  7. jackisback, I spent an exorbitant amount of money over the last decade on shampoos. Back in 2002-2003, I was duped into thinking Nioxin would stop my hair loss since they marketed their products as inhibiting DHT. I used their products for about 1 year. Use organic shampoos without sulfates to clean your hair. Get on Finasteride to inhibit DHT.
  8. If you abuse the Nizoral treatment by using it excessively then it may irritate your scalp which can cause hair loss. The same goes for minoxidil. I use Nizoral 2% once or twice a week and it keeps my scalp healthy. I suffer from seborrheic dermatitis and nizoral 2% works better for me than Denorex, Neutrogena T-Gel, and prescription Selsun. Sometimes I fool myself into thinking I don't need to use Nizoral because I don't see flakes. After 2 weeks of not using Nizoral, I usually notice more shedding. Stick with Nizoral. Overall, it helps keep my scalp healthy.
  9. you have 2 posts to your name since an inquiry about Mwamba was posted on this forum. your first post to this forum contains nothing but accolades about Mwamba's work. hmmmmmmm? perform a google search on 'patrick mwamba'. you'll eventually find the blog which contains details about the draconian surgery performed on some poor fellow.
  10. Mwamba used to be Cole's lackey. They butchered some poor fellow. Mwamba was posing as a doctor at Cole's clinic. Mwamba eventually had to flee the US so he can practice medicine abroad. I emailed Mwamba several months back and asked him why he operated on that poor fellow. Below is Mwamba's response. If you don't believe this is his actual response, then ping me and I will forward you the email also. Hello, Thank you for contacting me through my website. I understand your anger after reading the blog. I am a doctor and I never claimed to be licensed in USA to practice medecine. I was assisting all the time my former boss performing the duties of a tech:mapping the floor, cleaning instruments, cutting grafts, placing grafts,etc... I was giving advice to patient as a patient coordinator ( or consultant as the word is used in this field). Those are the facts. As an assistant they taught me all the intricacies of the procedure. My apology if I hurted your feelings.I responded to you because you contacted me in private. You will be your own judge. God bless you. Dr Patrick Mwamba
  11. I had a negative experience using Rogaine. This was almost 3 years back and I used it for several months, applying it only at night. Rogaine irritated my scalp, especially during the summer months. I'm certain Rogaine exacerbated my hair loss.
  12. You look much younger. The results look phenomenally natural. Bald is not beautiful.
  13. Both Dr. Shapiro and Dr. Wong are STRIP doctors. I know that Dr. Shapiro is practicing FUE, however, it's limited to scar repair at this time. I wouldn't gamble on a 3000 FUE surgery. If you want maximum yield from a 3000+ graft surgery, then STRIP is a more viable option. Both doctors are well respected and manage first-class clinics.
  14. A small FUE procedure may yield acceptable growth; however, the risk for poor yield increases with larger sessions. Compare a 3000 STRIP vs 3000 FUE procedure. For the 3000 STRIP procedure, removing the donor hair, preparing the grafts, making the incisions, and inserting the grafts can easily be done in 1 day. A 3000 FUE procedure, alternatively, will take a few days (2, 3, or maybe even 4 depending on the number of surgeries booked at the clinic and the surgeon's schedule). This is because the majority of your surgery will be allocated to removing the donor hair and preparing the grafts. Removing the donor via FUE requires a much more meticulous approach than STRIP since the surgeon has to repeat the process thousands of times. Even in the hands of a skilled FUE surgeon, fatigue will most likely occur which can result in transection. The proof is in the results. For large sessions, STRIP will produce more consistent results than FUE. There are more documented cases of large STRIP sessions to support this claim. Also, don't move forward with a FUE surgery until the clinic explains what punch size will be used to remove your donor hair. They must tell you this or give you some type of acceptable answer. If not, you are not being given informed consent. Several months ago, I signed up for a FUE surgery with what I thought was a respected FUE clinic. The doctor is not a coalition doctor; however, he is supposedly one of the top FUE 'experts' in the US, or so he claims. I even flew down to the clinic for my consultation and personally met with the good doctor. The clinic made me pay for the entire procedure, $10,560, prior to the surgery. After the cancellation deadline and after I paid the clinic in full, the clinic sends me a surgical disclosure and consent form. There was no way I was signing this until they answered my questions. I never received back my money. I evaluated all my options and moved forward with several of them. I will soon be creating a blog documenting my experience which includes all email correspondences with the clinic and all forms the clinic sent me. I want everyone to be aware of the deceptive practices in this industry and the unethical practices of this clinic. Are you on any meds currently? My derm put me on a higher dosage of finasteride. I also obtained a prescription for Avodart. If I don't respond to this more aggressive treatment, then STRIP is probably my only option. Overall, I wouldn't gamble on a 3000 FUE procedure until I start seeing more documented cases to prove STRIP and FUE yield are the same.
  15. Gorpy - For a density of fewer than 40 grafts per cm2, your results are impressive. Things really took off after the second procedure. The hairline is natural. Were the graft incisions made using the lateral slit technique? What is your current regimen to maintain the hair that you currently have? Also, could this have been achieved in 1 session instead of 2 sessions?
