  1. Dr True and Dorin did my HT on March 31 2005. I have not posted for a while..but I am delighted with my transplant. 2605 follicles. After 6 months, what a difference! I am hoping to get some pics posted after my visit with the tech next Friday. All good..no shock loss. no scar. nothing but hair! Wallywonka
  2. Agreed...the scar is the least concern if the other things are in place that the forum moderator stated. My scar was invisable several weeks after the stitches were removed. If your doctor does a double stitch routinely to close the donar area, you should have no visablilty and certainly no pain afterward. Talk about this with your consult doctor and determine first how he routinely closes the donar area. WW
  3. My experience with Dr True and Dorin was great. I've posted it here before. I'm 14 weeks out and still no shock loss anywhere. I have growth of new FUs and about 1/3 of the HT FU never fell out but continued to grow. Now they are at about 1 1/2 long or better and I am now combing back hair that I never had before. Their tecnique is incredible and the techs that work with them are dedicated and devoted to the painstaking process of follical removal from the donar tissue. I will post pics in a couple of weeks when I reach 4 months. WW
  4. KG007, Yes, I'm going to start posting in a couple of more weeks. I was going to start earlier but decided to wait till after 16 weeks. I think four months out is going to be a real good time to post. The last few weeks, my wife and closest friends really began to be believers....even mentioning at times that they felt it was really starting to show. I'm thin in the HT area..but I think it is beginning to thicken up for a picture or two when I figure out how to get my pictures from my digital to my computer, to this forum. WW
  5. eric123 I'm hearing in this forum that shockloss has occured in many HTs in the donar area. MY scar stretches from ear to ear due to 2600 futs. No shock loss. I am not so sparse on top as you say...I was a Norwood 4A. None there either. It seems like some of you can't let go of the idea that it's just absolute that shock loss occurs in everyone. Evidently, some don't suffer shock loss. WW
  6. To the forum Moderator: Again, I'm at 12 weeks now and still have had no shock loss. I guess what I am reading here, is that it is so prevalent in HT's that you should expect it and be happy if you don't have it. OK, I'm happy. But I think this positive experience deserves to be shared so it equalizes out some of the bad experiences shared here at times. By the way..."cracking walnuts with your pecs" by Mahair was a humerous statement...but that doesn't really address overall health as much as it address strength. I'm 57 years old...I havent been able to do that for a number of years now. But eating them can help since they are high in protien and other essential minerals. Sorry...I'm getting way to serious. WW
  7. BobbyN A cheap ticket to NY is well worth it. Try some rally good Docs without paying any more.
  8. thinkingaboutit, Yeh, I've posted..My HT is fantastic. I'm post op 12 weeks today. MY Ht hairs are still in place [35%never fell out] They are now at about 1 1/4 inches each with some nwe ones shorter. A lot of stubs are appearing. I met with John from Dr True's office about 3 weeks ago. John, the technician, agreed that this was rather ahead of schedule. I'm actually combing my new hair back as of now although it is still quite thin. I believe that it will thicken up in the months to come. But right now, I'm delighted with the whole experience. No dreaded shock loss at all. At 57 years of age..I'm pretty darn hapy with it! Thanks for asking. WW
  9. BobbyN, Drs True and Dorin in NYC I learned about him from this site. I never saw a bad report on their work. I had a phenominal experience. i hope that you are in the NY area. WW
  10. I'm going to guess that the hot water is helping the blood circulation in that area. I think that is a good thing. It should help healing...growth? Just a guess...I'm not a doctor
  11. Is there any possibility that these are hairs that would have fallen out anyway? What is your age and family experience? Perhaps the HT hastened an eventuality?
  12. I had Dr True and Dr Dorin assisting for 2605 grafts on March 30th. Nothing but positive. I'm way ahead on regrowth. Great experience with great Doctors and experienced technicians. A team of five were working on me for over 5 hours then down to just the Doctors for the alast 3 hours. No pain only gain. As I have said in other posts, I have kept roughly 35% of my transplants and they are all about an inch long with new growth hairs coming in quickly. This is my 10th week only. If it sounds like I'm bragging..I'm sorry but I'm really happy with my experience. Thanks Dr. True and Dorin WW
  13. I had the same thoughts about my age. I'm 57 and just figure that I don't want to spend twenty or more years bald like the rest of my family was and is. Pain for me was as stated above by gillinator. You won't look goofy if you get the right surgeon. For me...no one has ever noticed. I took a week out of the area on vacation..played golf on day 5 and only used sun block with no hat while out on the course. My only annoyance is itching and numbness. But the new growth in the HT area helps me get through that quick enough. Hope to hear more from you on your procedure and results. I'm going to post my pictures in another month. I'm only out 9 weeks post op, but have new hair coming in and 35% of HT hair at about 1 inch long. Like everyone says..pick your doctor carefully from suggestions that you will find here. Weigh your own health and ability to heal, keep a good quality diet before and after. Wish you well! WW
  14. I agree...last year , he was quite bald over a major portion of his scalp. But look at him now! I sure would like to know who his surgeon was. Any Ideas on how to find out? WW
  15. Carl 51, Hey..don't quit. Youv'e invested all this effort up till now, why not try to isolate three of the best surgeons out of all your research? Do several consults and make a desion based on further research. It doesn't have to be hit or miss. If you can find 3 surgeons that have nothing bad said about them in these postings...then I think thats progress. Talk to them via consultation and get it down to two choices. The next step? Research some more and choose the best of the best. Iv' been watching this web site for about 2 years and it sure helped me to make my choice. I did DR True and Dorin and I am nothing but happy at 8 weeks out..no bad effects at all. New hair is already growing in and 40% of HT hair stayed in and is 3/4 inch long with no shock loss yet. It can be a great experience for you too. Just do what you can to get it as right for you as you can and then get a highly trained Dr. By the way, it only costs a couple hundred dollars to fly to NYC for the best in the world. It's only my opinion but I think it's true! WW
