  1. The website is back up, but unfortunately there's nothing new on there other than the new design. Things are definitely getting pretty exciting with all the news aderans and histogen are coming out with, I wonder if trichoscience can keep up with the Joneses. http://www.trichoscience.com/
  2. I'm sorry to hear about your sides, me personally I had them but they went away after I quit, though let me tell you it did take a long ass time after I quit, somewhere along the range of MONTHS. Best advice I can give you to help speed up regaining your sexual abilities is physical exercise, mainly the type of stuff that gets your blood flowing and your mood elevated. I'm also from chicago and since springtime is around now I would recommend going out and riding a bike and working up a sweat.. do this every day for a good amount of time and hopefully you can get better.. don't ever think you're fucked for life. Riding a bike is a very stress-relieving and healthy activity, especially if you live inside Chicago proper and not the suburbs, Lincoln Park and Grant Park are great places.. Going back on topic, hair loss is definitely important to the world and to scientists, for the simple fact that whoever solves the problem is going to be set for life as far as money goes.. as well as their great-grandchildren.
  3. Sorry if I sounded kinda pissed and whiny, I have a bit of a history of that on this forum hah. It just sucks cause I don't really have much anywhere else to vent other than the internet. I'm actually only about an NW2 but I'm still pretty young at 22. I can't take propecia cause it gave me side effects that have since gone away, honestly the side effects might have been psychological/psychosomatic but that's still enough reason to keep me off of it. I sorta wish around the time I took it that I was never informed there was any chance of side effects at all, maybe then I could've avoided freaking myself out with paranoia into actually psychologically giving myself ED. I still don't really think I'd risk going through that again.
  4. Honestly I really do hope you're right about this stuff being available in 2015, but of course that just goes along with the whole "in just 5 more years" shtick. I mean it gets really tough to be overly enthusiastic about this sort of thing after you've been waiting for it for so long, and I'm sure many of the forum members here, especially the older ones that have been here a while, can definitely agree with that. Nonetheless, I still haven't given up hope, but I'm just more cautious nowadays. They definitely make some really big positive statements, but one could argue that this could be so more people buy stock into the company so they can make more money. I mean just look at this: 'Through this deal, we've been able to consolidate the majority of key patents and know-how in the hair regeneration field, an achievement that can accelerate our ability to deliver a commercially viable product to market." and 'This information should substantially augment our efforts to create a viable cell-based solution for hair loss.' One thing I'm curious about is why the stuff was only sold for $200,000. That seems to be kind of a small price for this sort of thing, but then again I remember reading that ICX-TRC didn't perform so well in tests. Aderans, I would assume, has had more practical success than intercytex if they're still continuing with their efforts, since obviously there's no point in wasting money and efforts on a treatment that won't even be commercially viable. You can read the Intercytex press release here: http://www.intercytex.com/icx/...ses/2010/2010-03-18/ One thing I'm very curious about, is just what the hell is going on with Trichoscience, they seemed pretty legitimate and promising, but the website has been blank for a decent amount of time now. I'm curious to know if their procedure failed, if they got bought out, if they went bankrupt, or if the site really is "under construction" for some sort of much bigger anouncement that's going to take place. I'm still sick of having to live like this, I'm sick of feeling physically inferior to the opposite sex, and I'm sick of feeling like my youth and some of my ability to captivate people has been robbed from me. I've grown to live with it and just do my best though, but it just sucks having the feeling that no matter what I do I'm gonna be second class.
  5. Hey they got some pretty interesting stuff here: http://www.tsuji-lab.com/en/research/hair/index.html. They even say they got 100% succes rate... but it is on mice.
  6. Honestly I'm really surprised someone hasn't posted this earlier, but it seems Aderans has bought all the intellectual property that's been left of Intercytex, I can only see this as being a good thing. Read the full press release here: http://www.aderansresearch.com/ari_ournews.html Aderans is my best hope at the moment, and I think it's encouraging to see that they still seem to continue to make progress after all these years, let's keep our fingers crossed! Without a doubt I'm also really sure this is why the Aderans stock has risen up as was posted earlier.
  7. This guy is nuts but he gave me a hell of a laugh. There's a huge difference between losing your hair and having cancer. If I had a lump on my chest and a doctor told me it was cancer I would not try using herbal remedies, that just sounds ridiculous. I think it might be for the best if I don't reply to this thread anymore since it's gotten pretty ridiculous.
  8. I assure you that I do not work for any company or have any sort of agenda whatsoever, I can also assure you that I am not making extra aliases and I do have a bit of a history on this forum. If you've noticed, most people who have replied to this thread have at least 20 or so unrelated posts to them, the guy with the lowest post count actually posted something negative towards what I was saying. Also keep in mind, I've never completely urged people to buy the product, and I never even said that I'm 100% sure it works. The stuff is very new, so no one can really know whether the stuff works or not for sure yet, I just thought it might be interesting to find out. I for one would never take up the job of spending the time to make alternate aliases and then going as far as to make legitimate unrelated posts to boost the seeming credibility of my posts, I believe that my time is worth more than that. I am not trying to promote anything, I'm just trying to make people aware that such products are being marketed, look at the wikipedia article on tocotrienols: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tocotrienol It doesn't seem totally illegitimate to me. I have also read on other hair loss forums that a combination of resveratrol and curcumin could have possible benefits. In the end though, I don't really care what you think of my posts, each to his own.
  9. I think it might be important to state that if you're taking a normal multi-vitamin the d-alpha tocopherol form of vitamin E in it might block the tocotrienol forms of vitamin E found in toco-8 Also I have read people stating that a sesamin oil supplement might possibly improve the bio-availability and absorption of tocotrienols. I've been taking the supplement irregularly, generally whenever I have a protein shake so it's something like once every other day, on top of that I already use dr. lee's xandrox minoxidil so I can't say if it does anything for my hair or not, hell as of recently I am actually perfectly content with the head of hair I have, especially now that it's really starting to grow out over my head, as long as I keep my hair long there is absolutely no sign of recession or thinning whatsoever. I just hope it stays like this for the rest of my 20s. Toco-8 is also supposed to take something like at least 5 months to see any results, much like any other hair loss product. Gangster, tell me have you actually noticed any positive impact on libido or more energy or any other sort of health benefit since you've been taking the stuff? Good luck!
  10. It is a fact that lowering the levels of DHT in your body will elevate levels of estrogen as DHT does control estrogen, so basically anyone who is on finasteride, has higher levels of estrogen in their bodies than if they never took the drug. I've tried finasteride, and I got some nasty side effects, that did not go away for about 8 months after quitting, and only with the help of some powerful post cycle therapy supplements was I able to come back. If you wanna risk ED, depression, anxiety, mood swings, and titties then go right ahead.
  11. Yeah, arginine for increased nitric oxide production or some crap like that. Along with phytosterols like saw palmetto and some other plants which are supposed to help block DHT in the scalp. It's also supposed to have some anti-oxidant action, frankly I think they'd have been better off adding azelaic acid to the ingredients list. They also state that the new product is only for use by people who have a loss of NW4 or greater, I don't really get the logic behind this as the wording on their site is confusing.
  12. I'm surprised no one has posted about this here already, but Divine Skin, the makers of Spectral DNC have released a new version of their product. It's supposed to have some new ingredients which make it more effective, take a look at it here: http://divineskin.com/spectralDNC-L/index.html
  13. In all honesty I doubt balding is a detriment at an office job, hell I think it could even be an advantage. If i were to see a balding man and a man with a full head of hair, both wearing a suit, standing next to each other, I would probably subconsciously think that the man with the full head of hair is more likely to be a slacker. I've always thought that a balding man in a suit looks more mature and proffesional.
  14. Intercytex's product claims to reverse aging of the skin, and mpb is a condition inarguably aggravated by the aging of the skin, so I wonder if this facial rejuvination product might have any benefit for those afflicted with losing hair. Seriously though, it makes me happy that the company has actually been able to release a product, and I think people are being too pessimistic about hair multiplication. Intercytex's press release even states that they've succesfully performed the procedure on test subjects already (it would be really awesome if one of those test subjects actually posted on a forum, I doubt anyone would actually believe them and take it as a joke though.) As quoted from their website: "In September this year we announced the first results from the current Phase II trial. In the sub-group of subjects (5 in total) whose scalp was pre-stimulated at the time of injection all subjects showed substantial and visible increased hair counts at 6 and/or 12 weeks (13-105%). We believe this increased hair production is attributable to the interaction between the injected DP cells and the stimulated resident hair producing cells." A 105% increase in hair count? Wow! How the hell does that not sound encouraging? They also go on to say: "By the end of March 2008 we expect to announce preliminary 12 week data on up to 16 subjects in total and preliminary 24 week data on up to 10 subjects." By the end of March 2008? Say isn't that next month?!? So basically by the end of next month, we get to find out if this stuff is really legit or not. I know it has been and still is a long wait, but how can you deny that progress isn't being made? I think it may have been posted on the forums before, but if someone could refresh my memory on how long phase 2 and phase 3 trials last it would be great (I know phase 3 is supposed to be the longest). I figure in the meantime I'll keep using my high-potency minoxidil and 2% ketoconazole shampoo along with taking a massive amount of anti-oxidants. I have actually found a supplement that's supposed to contain about the equivalant of the antioxidants of 12 servings of fruits and vegetables in one teaspoon. I figure that I might as well try to extend my youth for as long as possible, while I wait for that perfect slick hairline. Anyone ever see the episode of family guy where Peter becomes paralyzed but ends up curing it by walking into a stem cell research laboratory? Good stuff
  15. You know what I agree with you. If he can actually pull this off in the long-term it might give hope to myself and others on here.
  16. I'm 20 and I'm not gonna lie I can't help but feel just a bit jealous. I honestly think the hairline looks too good and even looks kinda fake, kinda like the whole jamie foxx thing. It looks like a black man's hairline was put on a white man, and from what I can tell this kid's got the scummy wiggerness to go along with it(look at the crappy chain on his neck). Even though his hair looked just a little bit worse than where I am right now at 20 years old it seriously looks unneccesary how much his forehead has been lowered. Oh well, I'm sure this is gonna bite him in the ass one day and make him afraid to be seen in public and at least I don't have an acne problem like him haha.
  17. Oh hey, if anyone does decide to go ahead and order it you can type in the coupon code of MVC10 and save 10 bucks. I just found that out cruising the old bodybuilding forums...
  18. You know whats funny is Trump's haircut doesn't look too different from the emo haircut haha. Only difference is it's not long enough to cover his face. My favorite's the hat haircut, is that thing even for real??
  19. Okay, did you not read my previous post? This is not your normal vitamin E supplement. Normally a vitamin E supplement has only one type of vitamin E, alpha-tocopherol I believe. Toco-8 has all 8 kinds of it. There are two subdivisions of the types of vitamin E. Tocopherols and Tocotrienols. Tocotrienols are pretty scant in western diets. Read the product description to get a better understanding. Also I don't understand why there has to be such pessimism towards new treatments in this thread. Rogaine came out in the 80s, and propecia came out in the 90s. The way I see it we're almost overdue for something groundbreaking to come out this decade. Not only that but RU58841 is still available from the online chinese research chemicals supplier, and if you actually know what you're doing it is actually more effective than finasteride as an anti-androgen and it is topical so no side effects at all. The only problem, it seems, with this chemical is that it happens to be in financial limbo. Also neosil has just released a press statement on the fourth of this month at http://www.neosil.com and they do say that "results are encouraging". As for the cancer analogy, yes it is true that a lot of money and effort is being invested towards cancer research and the cure may still be far away, but great amounts of progress have been made in that field. Would you not think that cancer treatments now are better than cancer treatments from 10 years ago? Some of the stuff they're researching for cancer might even translate into hair loss, such as the research going into the possibility of changing DNA within the cellular level. There is some really exciting scientific research that is going on nowadays. I hate to say it but a good number of people on this forum are like sheep not willing to think outside of the box, and to top it off they also talk out of their asses. PS: I think I'll order a batch of toco-8 more for the testosterone boosting and cardiovascular benefits than the hair loss benefits, but if I feel that I notice it helping anything I will reply, and if I feel the product to not live up to the description I will also make a post.
  20. Get off the stuff man... if you're having side effects they're not gonna go away as long as you're taking the drug. Even after you quit there's a small chance you might still have side effects. The whole "side effects may go away after taking the stuff for a while" is bull. By all means though, if you wish to continue using the drug, go right ahead, it's your genitals.
  21. Well what they say is that taking too much vitamin E can be bad since many commercial preparations only have one kind of vitamin E and this causes an imbalance among the different kind of vitamin E you have. The product has all the 8 different kinds of vitamin E in it so supposedly that's where the benefits come from. The study was in a US Patent and I'm pretty sure you have to have some credibility for it to be patented. As for the effectiveness of the product, I personally can not definitively say so. The reason for this is that the product has only been out for like a week but the effects are supposed to take at least 5 months. I'm sure once the product has been out for longer people will start reporting on whether it's bogus or not. It is true that the product doesn't affect DHT, but I'm a firm believer that there's more to it than just DHT->Follicle->Baldness. Also I personally can not get an HT since I am too young, and I can't take finasteride because of some really nasty side effects. By the time I am old enough for an HT, though, I'm pretty sure hair multiplication or something will be readily available. Also neosil will soon be beginning phase 2 FDA trials so there are some exciting things coming around. I think people should not be closed-minded to innovation or forget about how much money, research, and effort currently is and has been going into finding effective MPB treatments.
  22. I'm thinking spironolactone would be more effective for the purpose, but I also hear the molecules degrade when minoxidil and spironolactone come into contact with each other, so you would have to apply them seperately (this is what I do). You would probably be better off trying to make an RU58841 topical. There's been some posts on other forums of making liposomal preparations of it. I'm pretty positive that RU would be much more effective than anything else as a topical. I know of a place that sells skin absorbing solutions that you can add your own ingredients to, but you really don't want something that's absorbs well enough to get carried into your blood stream. On the other hand you don't want something too weak to have any merit.
  23. Haha, no I'm only a fan of The Alkaline Trio. I'm sure the real Matt Skiba has a lot better things to do than hang out at "The Hair Transplant Network". I just picked his name as my nick cause he's an inspiration to me because he can be awesome and still look good with a receding hairline.
  24. It's pretty much the same exact thing you were talking about, Bill. I think your article nails down the facts perfectly and you reference the same US patent that I did in this post. Either way I think a vitamin E complex would be a good addition to any hair loss regimen. Anyways here's the link to the product with the description and whatnot, it is pretty detailed and in my opinion I would not see this as a snake oil company: http://www.primordialperformance.com/toco.cfm Also anabolicminds is a great fitness and supplement forum, I'm happy to see someone on here that is familiar with it.
