  1. Thanks for the comments guys. It's definitely been a very positive change. FH - it was 5324 grafts.
  2. Hi All, I have missed the last couple months of updates due to some big changes in my life. In any case, glad to be back and sharing these results with you. I am now at the 9 month mark post-op. It is usually said that 12 month mark is the best time to make an overall assessment so I'm hoping the growth continues for at least another 3 months; I could certainly use more density, especially in the crown area. One thing I have noticed is that hair in my frontal hairline now have a natural curl (curling towards the back of the head.) This just means if I want to wear a style in which the hair fall forward, I'll have to use a blow dryer. Have any of you guys had this? Either way, I am ecstatic about the results so far. Compared to where I was 9 months ago, this procedure with Dr. Hasson has changed my life completely. I have also lost some weight and now sport a younger, healthier and more vibrant look. I celebrated the 9 month mark by visiting the stylist (for the first time in at least 7 years) - these pics were taken right after. The hair in the pics appear thicker due to the grooming clay that was applied at the salon. I continue using the product to get a thicker look. Any and all comments are most welcome.
  3. MA, I just read your blog. You've picked a great doctor and 3500 grafts should produce a great result. Last fall, I used to be like you - looking at all other results and hoping I was in their shoes If you're going for surgery in May, your exciting times should start in/around September/October. Take the time and enjoy the summer Ron, the distribution was approx 1500 in the crown and the rest in the front/top.
  4. LTS...you started with an excellent base and picked a great doctor. The tough part will be waiting out the first 3-5 months. Happy Healing bud!
  5. Thanks for the feedback guys. Thana, yep having hair back took away any excuses I had (I had figured being obese and bald is not much worse than being bald). This procedure has already had a major impact on my life.
  6. The last 2 months have been very very exciting, especially the last 20-25 days when my hair have grown long enough to be combed/dressed (been such a loooong time since I used a comb). Even the crown has progressed to the point where people would say I'm now in the "thinning/balding" stage rather than "bald." Recently met some friends who I hadn't seen in a few months and got comments that I looked "good." I chalked it up to weight loss (I have lost about 25 lbs since my procedure.) Got one comment that I had "grown out" my hair - naturally, I agreed I am including some pre-op photos in the album to highlight where I came from...helps to explain why I am so excited about the results so far. Looking for more density in the coming months - that's all that is missing now. Any and all comments are welcome.
  7. Looking good Eman. We would like for you to put that clipper down for a while and let's see some longer hair and a cool style Agreed with others here, we all have a tendency to over-analyze things when it comes to our hair. From your pics, we can barely see the scar or the discoloration. I doubt anyone will notice. So what are you telling people when they make the observation that you look good? I got that a few times recently when I met people I hadn't met in a few months and I chalked it up to weight loss...haha!
  8. Congrats Bill! You must be aiming for some crazy density - hair greed did you call it? I don't think there is much doubt about the result of the procedure - it will be excellent. I am particularly interested in how your scar looks after this procedure. I know you will document in detail, as always. Like some others suggested, it would be great if you could share your laxity exercise regimen with us. Happy Healing Bud!
  9. I'm just catching up on this thread...yep, I would have guessed 2068 Glad it went well Bill. We'll all be following your progress closely. Thanks for sharing the details about your scar and why you and Dr. Hasson decided to go low with it. Sorry that you will have to live with those bothersome staples for 4 weeks. The do looks awesome...maybe you could try it out for longer when you have some crazy density up front after this procedure. Happy Healing bud!
  10. Thanks Raphael84. I agree that the crown has come along quite well for the 5 month mark, even though it is about the most significant sign left that I was ever bald...so from that perspective, it can't grow out soon enough Abby, not all surgeons produce this quality of work. Dr. Hasson paid a great attention to detail when working on my crown - he pointed out that my swirl was counter-clockwise and placed the grafts accordingly. Him educating me about this has also affected how I style my hair (and massage my scalp). From having read thousands of posts on this forum in the last 1+ year, the following names appear first in my mind when I think of surgeons who consistently produce great work: Dr. Hasson (he did my transplant and I would strongly recommend him), Dr. Wong, Dr. Rahal, Dr. Feller, and Dr. Shapiro. This is not an exhaustive list by any means so I'd recommend checking out the list of Coalition members.
  11. Looking good RR. Still a few more months to go and density and thickness comes in the later part so exciting times ahead bud As for hairline, once they are all grown out, perhaps you could go for the second best option - a style that reduces the visibility of a receding hairline. With a full head of hair, a good stylist should certainly have some options.
  12. Thanks guys. latinlotus, yes I'm absolutely thrilled with the progress so far - it has already done wonders for my confidence. And am anxiously awaiting for what's to come in the next few months.
  13. Hi All, It's been more than 5 months now...and I am very happy with the results so far. The hairline is vastly improved and the baldness is not as visible anymore. Just waiting for density and more growth in crown now.

  15. Looking great Eman! Happy for you buddy... Here's hoping for some styles/styling tips from you once these bad boys have grown up!
  16. Awesome result osidekid! Glad to hear things went so well for you. Thanks for posting the photos.
  17. Excellent results so far dude. Can't wait to see your 6 month pics... So...how often do you check yourself out in the mirror everyday? I bet at least 10-15 times
  18. Incredible results indeed. And you're not even at the 12 month mark yet.
  19. Thanks Guys! This is going to make a big difference - I can feel it. Eman - I'm at "I want more growth!" already Redkun9 - I don't have the density figures but as far as distribution goes, I believe the approximate distribution was 3500 for the frontal third and 1500 for the crown. KMan
  20. Hi All, Here we are at the 4 month mark. And I'm officially out of the doldrums stage (copyright Eman). The 3 month mark was very disappointing but like many others, I have noticed some growth beginning between 3 & 4 months. I don't have a balding look from frontal view anymore (just the "thinning hair" look). Being 6'0, this is good enough for most of my interactions I have more hair in my hairline than I can remember anytime during my bald days. The crown is coming along as well, although not quite as fast. I am posting pics from pre-op in this album, along with 1 month, 2.5 month and 4 month updates so you can see the progression through these 4 months. Your comments are welcome. PS: The scar, luckily, has become pretty much a non-issue for me. I'll try and get some pics of it tomorrow and upload them as well.

  22. AP, good call going with Dr. Wong. Your pics show excellent coverage post-HT. The new hairline looks great. At 1 month, you are exactly where you should be. My new hair started falling out at the 3 week mark too, as much as I hated seeing it happen. Hang in there for another 3-4 months then the fun part of the journey starts. Enjoy! You have lots of growth ahead of you.
  23. That's the first milestone CB! Congratulations! I was so glad when the staples came off... Brave call going for the #1 right after the suture removal are you going to wear a hat to hide the scar or you don't mind showing it off?
  24. RR, how are things going? Let's see those 4 month pics Looks like there is quite a few of us who got our procedures late last year - next few months should be pretty exciting for everyone.
