  1. Yes, this is certainly an excellent point and we actually do provide this, not here on the forum, but on the HTN. The page is https://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/Consult-a-Physician/advance-search.asp and can be accessed from the drop menu (on all pages here) by clicking on the link in the top right"Find a Great Surgeon". This is mainly by area and we also have an Advanced Search, which then takes you to the page lined above. As to the suggestion about organizing the threads, that too is really excellent and I think Bill will have some input and provide feedback on this. Hope this does help.
  2. @Hsrp, I see what has happened here. There were a huge number of bounced messages from your email account for forum notifications and this will also trigger an account suspension, as it is really not that good is users have the wrong email address listed. Note that the bounces are from the original account : hair_trns_2010-contact@nym.hush.com host plsmtp1.hushmail.com [72.51.60.130] SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data: 554 Spam Blocked. at ./proxyd-filter.pl line 420. This means that your original account hsrp10 was disabled for the very specific intention of some form of communication so that we can make sure that both the email address you are using and your acceptance of mail from the forum is actually functioning correctly. The above address is still getting bounced forum updated and is associated with the account hsrp10. Please do make sure that your mail account accepts mail from the forum address which has been set as "webmaster@hairrestorationnetwork.com" Once that has been corrected, it is a simple matter of re-enabling your account and things should be back to normal. Hope this explains things.

  4. @Mikeyhwk, please can you update your email address? You have a load of subscribed topics and all the email notifications are bouncing back to admin: Action: failed Final-Recipient: rfc822;mikeymike@fastmail.fm Status: 5.0.0 Remote-MTA: dns; in1-smtp.messagingengine.com Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 5.1.1 : Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table Keeping your email address up to date, will certainly ensure you are updated regularly. 5. Hi there,

It appears that the mail address associated with your account is invalid. We are seeing loads of subscription notification being returned:

  6. Hairsprint, It is certainly possible to change the font colour, - to the left of the Font Size, there is an option for colour. It may be a bit different in layout and options to the current forum, but I am confident*that as users get to understand these differences, they will enjoy this new version. As to the bookmark option, this is also done by "Following" the post and once you have posted in it, you can also use the "Activity Stream" feature to set a really wide filter option to keep track of things. Yes, indeed , once we import everything to the new forum, all the test posts and profiles will be cleaned out Hans
  7. Spanker, one of the innovative features is the ability for you to create a custom view that fits whatever you feel is useful to your viewing habits. Under the tab for "Activity" there is a menu item for "My Activity Streams" and there is the facility to create your own custom stream, which may even be more useful than something that is pre-set for all users. While the forum does not have that much content, it would really help if more members here popped over to give things a test drive and add some content. That would populate things and give everyone a better idea of the new forum.
  8. So now we can add text without any problems to the text entry field. Problem is that it still takes really long for the text area to show on the page.

Looks like it works now. Commented using an iPad.
  10. Speed should no longer be an issue, we have taken steps to ensure the site is stable and quick. We do understand that newer phones and tablets may only be able to upload images to the forum. I know that it works here, see the image below, uploaded from an Android phone.
  11. This certainly looks like unjustified suing.. The US is a very litigious nation and it looks like where there is an opportunity, it will be sued for. There is an equally intersting article here: Brian Urlacher sues Florida hair transplant surgeon - Chicago Tribune
  12. It appears that the chat bar only shows in Chrome for some reason. It won't be too long before we overhaul the forum and then we will be using a third party chat system that does work fine. Hans
  13. The PM section is not activated, until an admin has manually done this. WE have this procedure to protect our users from mindless spammers that have abused the PM system. You should now have no issue reading your PM.
  14. That is odd. I see them fine in Chrome, FireFox and IE. If you can let me know what you are using to view the page, that will help. What I need to know is: Operating System (OSX version or, Windows version or, OIS, Android version) Browser and version (Safari, Chrome, Firefox etc) Connection type (ISDN, ADSL, Fibre, LTE, wireless, LAN etc.) It may also be that your personal security settings may be blocking something. Thanks Hans
  15. The process is not quite as obvious as some people would imagine. First, you need to select the "Go Advanced" tab and then you will see a different view as shown in the images below. After selecting the image from your drive, click on the "Upload" button. Repeat for as many images as you want to add to the post. Hope this helps
  16. I thinks it's a hair piece, not an HT. Kallis also had a rather bad rug too. OK, here we go, more Advance Hair Studio disasters.. Still annoyed that SA missed the cut. IF ONLY Amla had scored a few more, maybe the semi's would be different.
  17. Upload image test, to make sure everything is working fine after some database maintenance.
  18. Testing the image upload.. adding a little humour.
  19. Or the Proteas, they also playing badly right now.
  20. We have been experiencing speed issues for some time now, however, when I looked at the site today, things look Ike they are back to "normal". We have been trying to establish the cause of the speed issue and during our analysis and monitoring, we did see quite massive numbers of connections to the server. Where these originate (not always easy to detect - like in the movies) we are not certain. One thing we can be sure of, this may happen again. We are trying to find a long term fix, one of these is to migrate to a different forum version and to have the site fully cross platform compatible. That means that the site should look and work fine, no matter what device you use to access it. Please know that we are working as effectively as we can to ensure that your experience here is a good one.
  21. For those that are interested, the new version will certainly be fully cross platform compatible. That means you won't need an app, but the forum will accommodate mobile users really well. Maybe we should start a poll and see how many users want an app, rather than a site that accommodates phones and smaller screens.
  22. We are experiencing some technical issues and this is causing the server to run rather slowly. We suspect that it has a lot to do with the current version of vBulletin and we are in the process of upgrading. The main hurdles we face with this is there is a lot of customisation that we need to try and maintain on the new version, which does have a lot of differences. There are times when the sites run at "normal" speed, but we have experienced periods of up to 3 weeks of sustained speed issues. Arrie, we have not changed the posting process to a moderation queue, however, there are some trigger words that may cause a post to end up in the mod section. We can only apologise for this frustration, we are doing whatever we can to resolve it. Best wishes
  23. David, thanks for the notice on Apple, not a big fan of their stuff, but then there are those that believe Apple is the answer to world tension. In my view it is pretty hardware running on OSX, which is a custom LINUX skin, basically pretty UBUNTU, which is actually free. I will probably be flamed for this, but I have tried very hard to use Apple products and find it unforgiving for developers. I did see that the issues were related to file size, some email communication detailed this issue and this has now been resolved, so any image up to 20 meg, can safely be uploaded. Stig, the results of Jacques Kallis's hair treatment have been widely discussed and most of the comments were not very complimentary. Sad, as Jacques is a really nice guy.
  24. Hi esrec, I did manage to sort out a fix earlier, so it should be fine now. Please try again and I can only apologise for any inconvenience, or frustration this has caused. Below is a high resolution file that was originally 8 meg, which I have just uploaded without any issues.
  25. Checking to see if there are still errors when uploading larger files. Should be fine now, managed to upload a 4 meg image without issues.
