  1. We do remove posts and images at the request of a user, when it does involve privacy issues. However the overall rule, is we don't allow users to remove/delete content as we have had previous situations where comments and images were posted, that were in contention and the user simply deleted the content, which meant we were unable to challenge, or verify the content. You are able to edit content that you posted within a 10 minute period of posting, so this will allow you to make changes that you would like, to the post. Please do understand that we do respect our members privacy and will certainly do whatever we can to assist. Hope this helps.
  2. I did find an option for FireFox, however it is an add on that you can find here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/night-eye-dark-mode/ I did that and activated the add on, which does provide a very decent "dark mode" options.
  3. Settings for this option, where I did not experience any loss of browser data, everything was fine after the change.
  4. Unfortunately I could not find a suitable method to force dark mode. Other than changing the actual forum styling, it is not really a possibility as it stands right now. @Melvin- Moderator we could enable user choices for site themes and then we can create a separate dark theme that users could chose to use for the site. It would mean that we need to create a complete new theme and enable users to chose that over the default theme. Changing the Chrome settings is really straight forward and results in a nice clean "dark theme"
  5. Good question. There is no user theme option, only your browser option to change the style. Problem is that the pages will still show in the standard colours. Only thing I could suggest, is that you use your screen settings to dim the brightness. I know that in Windows, changing the accessibility options there, can set your machine to use custom colours and also a Dark Mode, but this does not actually change the pages in a browser, sorry about that. There is a way to force Dark Mode, but could only find that for Chrome: https://www.howtogeek.com/446198/how-to-force-dark-mode-on-every-website-in-google-chrome/
  6. There is a great list of excellent Dr's here, where you can consult with directly on line. https://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/Consult-a-Physician/surgeon-list/NY/New-York Hope this helps
  7. I do recall this and jceaves site was taken down. While we can always do our best to protect our members, it is always a risk that someone manages to get into a user profile, be it by finding out their access details, or from a hacked other site, where the same credentials are used.
  8. No surprise here, the email I sent them bounced: A message that you sent could not be delivered to all of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: info@estemodahair.com host mx.yandex.net [77.88.21.249] SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data: 451 4.7.1 Sorry, the service is currently unavailable. Please come back later. 1634063834-8gmfISqkBT-bCEOpBWF: retry timeout exceeded Given that their domain is really poorly rated anyway, I have added them to the disavow list for all our sites. That means that they will be seen as a junk site.
  9. I had a look at their page and it looks like they ran a Google Translate form Turkish, but the results are really rather a joke. I don't think they are doing us any harm at all as their language structure is not at all "good quality", which is what most search engines also look at. Oh and they also do "facial transplants": I have also sent them a message that they need to take down that page as it infringes the copyright use of the term "Hair Transplant Network". @Melvin- ModeratorI did BCC you on the email, so you will also get a copy.
  10. Embedded image from a remote location requires the source to be from an HTTPS:// location
  11. Here is an image from H&W site, where I also pasted the image address:
  12. Adding an image directly by posting a link to a remote image: Yes, it does work fine.
  13. Thanks fro commenting, however the original issue of speed effected the older version of the site in 2016. We now have new servers and a new platform, so this topic is really old and can be closed.
  14. I have updated the instructions above where the "Share" link is on the actual YouTube or Vimeo page.
  15. There is a wealth of information on this site and many users have added really informative detail about themselves and their hair restoration. On phones, the screen is rather small so some things may look a little obscure. If you want to see more about any of our members (of course they have had to publish this first), scroll down when on their profile and you will see whatever they have added. There is more though. When you see this little icon, it allows you to see all their activity, with one simple tap. You can also see filtered information too: The menu now offers options to see all their posts, comments etc, just s simple tap away. To get back to the profile, tap the little icon shown below: Scrolling further down, shows more options. Tap on the "Activity" area and there are more tabs available with more information about the user. Tap on the little triangle and it opens a new menu allowing you to see more about this member: Tap on any of these and they will open the element for you to see. Please feel free to ask any questions about site usage here and we will gladly help.
  16. Embedding video clips from YouTube is really simple and easy. When viewing the clip on YouTube, just click on the Share link and then copy the URL: Paste it into the text entry area and this will automatically convert the link to the clip as shown below. Just had to add this one too The same procedure applies to Vimeo clips, just use the share option, Then copy the URL Paste that in the text box and it will embed automatically.
  17. We have noticed an alarmingly high number of failed deliveries to email addresses associated with Microsoft. This will include any registration confirmation, password resets, activity notifications, newsletter and any other system message that may need to be sent to our users. Some of the effected addresses are @hotmail.com, @live.com, @outlook.com and any other mail service that is run by Microsoft. To ensure delivery, please visit this page https://support.office.com/en-ie/article/Block-senders-or-unblock-senders-in-Outlook-com-afba1c94-77bb-4f50-8b85-057cf52f4d5e#bkmk_beta and set the address forum@hairrestorationnetwork.com as a safe sender. If you are not using an address from MS, it may also be helpful if you add the address above to your safe sender list so that you will be sure to receive messages from the forum. If you still have issues, please contact me at webmaster@hairtransplantnetwork.com, or Bill at help@hairtransplantnetwork.com and we will do our best to keep the information flowing.
  18. Looks fine to me. Posted from a mobile device and shows right away on the page.
  19. I would also like to add that we have been experiencing some issues with members credentials being transferred correctly to this new platform. If you cannot login with your original credentials, you can use the "Lost Password" feature which will then allow you to immediately reset your password. Your email address will be the same as before, so please use the same address as on the old forum to reset your PW. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Hans
  20. No problem things can go wrong sometimes, for many unexpected reasons. Hopefully we are all still happy campers on the road to saving our crowning glory. :)
  21. Yes, this is certainly an excellent point and we actually do provide this, not here on the forum, but on the HTN. The page is https://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/Consult-a-Physician/advance-search.asp and can be accessed from the drop menu (on all pages here) by clicking on the link in the top right"Find a Great Surgeon". This is mainly by area and we also have an Advanced Search, which then takes you to the page lined above. As to the suggestion about organizing the threads, that too is really excellent and I think Bill will have some input and provide feedback on this. Hope this does help.
