  1. Thanks for posting that Dutchie very interesting .

I had a comment about how soft and natural the hairline was and I felt it was a very important point to make that we are so used to seeing results around the 1 year mark post op that we don't often see just how the hair softens after that stage.

This maturing effect is so important to the overall naturalness of a transplant especially when patients have medium to coarse hair. I noticed this in my own hairline and have had this comment from many patients over the years.

It is interesting to see patients so long after surgery in this gentleman's case he is holding up very well. Apologies for the change in background colour but in the intervening years the wall has been decorated and the camera has been updated.

  2. I wouldn't say that there is too much to choose from in terms of both clinics they have stellar reputations and rightly so. I don't think one is more aggressive than the other from the results I have seen and approach. How many grafts have you been quoted by each of them? Is being aggressive required in your case?

When it comes to FUT the role of the Doctors should be fairly similar that he designs the hairline, removes the strip and closes and makes the recipient area incisions. Technicians dissect and trim the grafts and place into the sites made by the Doctor.

I have heard that Dr Konior places all the grafts but Spanker who represents him be able to confirm this to be the case or not. There are many patients of each clinic on this forum that will be able answer your questions about pre and post op experiences. Good luck, which ever you choose you will be in very good hands.

  3. This patient in his early 30's at the time visited Dr. Hasson to do something about his thinning hair. Dr Hasson was able to transplant 4133 grafts in one session to address all of the areas that were concerning him.

Seven years later and he was passing the clinic and decided to pop in and show us how he was getting on. He is very happy with his results and I think you will agree that they have held up very well over the years.

  4. If you have pale skin then there is not much you can do other than what you have suggested but wait. You have mentioned aloe vera which is the best advice I could give you but you need to be patient. It won't just work over the course of a week. Minoxidil can inflame the area as you have discovered.

The only way would be to try to hide it with some foundation make up just make sure you get a good match for your skin tone. This will involve a visit to the make up counter if you can brave it.

  5. I look at these types of photos all day every day, here's what I see.

The photos do not show a NW7 pattern it is a case of a close cropped hair cut and how light and flash react on the shape of a scalp.

The flatter area at the back of the skull reflects the light and appears to be thinner as a result, like taking a photo of your crown with the flash on. The area below where his skull shape is different looks denser than reality giving the false impression of his safe zone because of the contrast in density when in reality I doubt there is any difference.

Like when you take a photo of the hairline with a flash on the density looks higher. If the OP takes photos in a normal lit room with no flash the donor would look totally different.

Lesson here is don't use flash when sending your photos in for an assessment.

  6. Really happy for you it is great to hear positive stories like this. Remember the crown take longer for the hair to come through so in my view you should wait 18 months and see how you feel before making any decisions.

For now as you said enjoy your hair but please continue to update us on your progress.
