  1. Ok, i'm sure these questions have been asked before, as I have read the answers before my HT, but their harder to find now. lol

Anyway, before I get to the questions I've got a suggestion to the Admin.: Maybe you could create a "sticky" area for threads about frequently asked questions.

    On to the questions:

    1. When do you start shedding the transplanted hairs (one, two, three weeks post-op)?

    2. I'm 8 days post-op, and the Dr.'s instructions were to gently start massaging the recip. area when washing to get rid of the scabs. I don't have any scabs but have what probably is dead skin as it is white. It looks like dandruff when it dry. I tried rubing it and got some off, but noticed one or two hairs attached some of this dead skin. Is this normal?

    3. My scalp (recipient area) feels tight and like it's made of leather. When will it start to feel normal?

  3. Pat,

I'm planning on sharing my results once I get the procedure done.

Regarding Dr. Arvind using Dr. Rassman's photos, I read a discussion about that in another forum. They decided to let it slide as there was an explanation that the web designer posted Dr. Rassman's pics without Dr. A knowing about it. Can't verify if this is true or not though. Either way I commend you on keeping your forum

Also I forgot to mention Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich (Thailand) who is recommended by DR Wong in another forum. Supposedly developed the "open technique" allowing for a transection rate of under 2% About him:

  4. Hi Pat,

I know most of the top doc are in the US and Canada. Perhaps you could shed some light on top docs elswhere, as lots of people (for different reasons) may not have the luxury of going to the US or Canada. Here some worth visiting in Europe, Australia, and India who should be considered in your list of recommended surgeons:

Dr. Ray Woods (Australia) He invented FUE. Don't think he does strip though.

Dr. C. Bisanga (Belgium) Does FUE and Strip. Relatively new but has outstanding results. I'm scheduled to have a strip procedure with him this month.

Dr. AP or Dr. A (India) Does strip and fue. See some good results from him in other forums.

Also noticed Dr. Melike K??lah?§i (Turkey) on your list of recommended docs. Would be interested to see a visit to her clinic.

    Regards.

I think he will post a reply when he figures out how to type the r symbol (lol)

Regarding dhi, about a month ago i saw an ad in the local newspaper (Kuwait) about fue available here. This was big news to me, as the only procedures being done here were strip from visiting French surgeons. At the time I was interested in going the fue route.

Anyway I called the clinic (a local plactic surgeon) and scheduled a consultation. He explained that docs from DHI would be coming here to perform FUE procedures.

He looked at my scalp and said that 1000 hairs would do, and that they would charge $8 per hair...yes HAIR.

Since then I contacted a several well known surgeons and they all recommended 4500+ grafts. I'm scheduled for a strip procedure this month.

My reservations regarding dhi are their pricing structure and the fact that they are allowing a local plastic surgeon to do consultations in their name. Had I not done any homework, I would have ended up paying $8000 for 1000 hairs. Picture that on a NW5a (LOL)

    my 0.02 cents

I echo the other forum members who agree with what Bill said. Would you rather have had him say?: "Wow...great job"

I believe these forums should help educate people of the good and bad hts. We want to hear people's opinions. If your "prospective members" don't join because someone here is telling it like it is, then that's their problem. They have to wake up and realise that not all hts are rosy.

sorry to hear you had a bad experience with them. guess i was right about them charging by hair fol. instead of graft.

  8. Correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't DHI the guys who switched their pricing structure. I believe they charge per hair (not graft). Be careful if that is the case.

Anyway, Badger, my advice is for you to go to the US or Canada (if you can afford it). Most of the top surgeons are there. If you can't afford it you may want to consider Dr. Bisanga in Brussels. I'm due to get my ht with him next month.

  9. Hi again.

Thanks for the link. B spot,Bill im 39. Several factors led me to Dr. Bisanga: results, cost, location, and time. H&W were my first choice but it would take me 20+ hrs (flying) just to get there. If I had more time (and money) to spare I would have gone to H&W and spent a week there post-op. Will probably go there for a 2nd ht (hope i won't have to though).

I found out about Dr. Bisanga from forums like this one. I wanted a good Dr. in Europe. Saw pics of his work, and nothing but praise from his patients, others and docs. I've done quite alot of reading on forums. You can tell who is advertising (shill posters) and who is genuine.

Anyway i'll try and make this brief so I don't sound like shill.(lol) He is based in brussels. He also has vids of his procedures on youtube (search for bisanga or bhr clinic). Does fue and strip. The procedure will cost me 2.5 euro/graft.
