  1. I found Lucien Armand MD, in 2006, through the website, www.atlantishairtransplant.com. Strangely, I never met Dr. Armand face-to-face, but only spoke with him during my procedure from behind me. The consultation was performed by Medical Director, Kris Johnson. Dr. Armand left me with a very large scar in my donor area and an unnatural hairline. I never returned. Two years later, I discovered that Dr. Armand had had his medical license revoked by the Florida State Board of Medicine in 2002, for "failing to maintain adequate records and failing to practice medicine with the level of care which is recognized by a reasonably prudent physician as acceptable". The revocation of Dr. Armand's license occurred four years prior to my procedure. See link. http://w3.health.state.ny.us/opmc/factions.nsf/58220a7f...04d1932?OpenDocument
  2. Having had nine hair transplantation procedures from four different doctors over 18 years, I've experienced both good and bad results, and my best results have been with Dr. Glenn Charles. Here is a history of my procedures. Date Location Graphs 1) Sep 1990 Bosley (Beverly Hills) 40 2) Oct 1990 Bosley (Beverly Hills) 40 3) May 1991 Bosley (San Francisco) 35 4) Jun 1991 Bosley (San Francisco) 35 5) Dec 2002 Siegel (Fort Lauderdale) 850 6) Jan 2004 Siegel (Fort Lauderdale) 900 7) Jan 2005 Siegel (Fort Lauderdale) 900 8) Sep 2006 Armand (Fort Lauderdale) 1,687 9) Jun 2008 Charles (Boca Raton) 1,926 At Bosley, the same doctor performed all four procedures using a total of 150 large plugs placed in straight lines on the left and right side of my upper forehead. Eleven years after Bosley, I found Geoffrey Siegel DO, in Fort Lauderdale, and I had three procedures performed by him and his nurse, Susan Bloom. Although I was pleased with my increased hair density, the direction of growth of my transplanted hair was unnatural, and my hairline had an unnatural appearance. After Dr. Siegel retired for medical reasons, I found Lucien Armand MD, in 2006, through the website, www.atlantishairtransplant.com. The revocation of Dr. Armand's license occurred four years prior to my procedure. In 2008, prior to choosing Glenn Charles DO, I consulted with Lawrence Shapiro MD, Brett Bolton DO, Alan Bauman MD, and Arlene Spertus MD. I liked Dr. Shapiro, and he later dropped his price, but he had multiple procedures being performed during my consultation, he seemed rushed, and he didn't instill the confidence in me that my special needs from prior procedures would be properly addressed to my full satisfaction. I liked Dr. Bolton also. He later dropped his price for 4300-4600 hairs, but his office was quiet, he had difficulty using his computer to show me "before and after" photos, and although he promised to move more hair than other doctors using follicular units and beaver graphs, he became my second choice after Dr. Charles. I found Dr. Bauman to be arrogant during the consultation. He wanted to perform a brow lift and a donor-area scar revision first, and then perform the hair transplantation later. I felt Dr. Bauman to be over-priced, and too pushy regarding lasers and oxygen therapy. Dr. Spertus was very nice and inexpensive, but like Dr. Shapiro she didn't instill the confidence in me that my special needs from prior procedures would be properly addressed to my full satisfaction. I asked her for a referral, and she suggested that I consult with Dr. Charles. Thank you Arlene! Dr. Charles was exceptional during my consultation and procedure. My concerns were fully addressed, and he made me feel totally at ease. Plus, the few times that I called him on his mobile phone, he was always there to take my call and answer my follow-up questions. He also called me the evening of my procedure to check on my condition. I've never known a doctor so committed to the health and well-being of his patients as Dr. Charles. I am confident that once my newly transplanted hair follicles produce new hair, that I will be happy with the direction of growth, that my new hairline will look natural, and that I'll have the hair density that I desire. Later, I wish to have Dr. Charles revise the scar left by Dr. Armand, and I am confident that the results will meet my expectations.
