  1. Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to let me know your thoughts about my patient's results. We try to obtain the best quality pictures we can outside a professional photo studio. I used 0.8 and 0.9 punches in this particular case, as was very astutely guessed by PlzRespond.
  2. This 27-year-old gentleman had a hair loss pattern similar to a class 3 on the Hamilton Norwood hair loss scale. His goal was to rebuild his hairline and add density to the frontal 1/3-1/2 of his scalp. Taking his age and hair loss into consideration we came upon an agreement for what would suite his expectations. After establishing his medical history and understanding the progression of his hair loss, I diagnosed his condition as Androgenetic Alopecia (male pattern baldness), ruling out any other possible dermatological or medical conditions which can cause hair loss. The patient’s goal was well suited to his needs and therefore I planned the surgery accordingly. I wanted to reconstruct a hairline that would be suitable for him as he continued to age. A total of 2,166 grafts were used. I used a significant amount of single hair follicular units which allowed me to create a very natural hairline. This action will allow him to comb his hair without anyone detecting that he has had anything done. These are his results 14 months post-op. The patient is extremely happy with his results and is on Finasteride to try and control further hair loss.

  11. This gentleman was a class 3 prior to his hair restoration surgery. He came to me in 2013 wanting to rebuild his hairline and add density to the frontal 1/2 of his head. He elected to go with a FUE procedure. He had previously had a small procedure of around 600 FUE grafts. His goal was to be very conservative and rebuild his hairline as well as add more density to the frontal 1/3. We did 2,200 grafts in 2013 and his results turned out so good that he decided he wanted to get more density in 2016, so we did another 1,600 grafts. These are his results 1 year after his 1st procedure and 14 months after his 2nd procedure. The patient is extremely happy.
  12. Thank you for insightful comments and those excellent questions! This was a repair case. Patient was not happy with results from a previous procedure by another physician and wanted a more natural dense front hairline with slight accentuation of the pre-existing widow's peak. The patient is a well-educated and articulate individual; he was aware that widow's peak emphasizes youthfulness of the hairline and that is what he wanted. Surgical plan was discussed with the patient during consultation as well as prior to surgery. The patient also wanted strong temporal points, which fit very nicely with his desire for a more aggressive front hairline, as both features balance each other out and allow a more natural look. In this particular case I used 0.8 mm punches, as there was some scarring from a previous procedure.
