  1. I was curious how long the new hair lasted after the surgery before it shed. I had my surgery on December 20 and now that it is Jan 10 most of the transplanted hair has fallen out. I was told that this was going to happen and was just wondering when it happened to others? My doctor told me only about 10% stays but of course in 4-5 months the transplanted hair should start coming me really well. It was nice while it lasted. I understand how many people could get depressed at this point but I think this is a stage everyone goes through and is part of the natural process before the hair comes back in full force. Please tell me I am correct about this guys.

  3. Great Pictures. It looks like even though you only had a few hundred more grafts then me your coverage looked much larger and I can't tell that the density is going to be any less. I think you are going to be really happy with the results espically when you get to enjoy a new head of hair. I'm enjoying just having my temp hair while it last even though it should start shedding away soon.
  4. Well today was D-Day and everything went great. The goal was 2,500 grafts but due to density it turned into about 2750 to 2800. Yahoo! Dr. Cooley and his staff were great, professional and fun. I will be uploading some photo's shortly. I didn't sleep a wink the night before so I am hoping to get a decent night's sleep tonight since I am planning on stopping by their office before 7:00am tomorrow before I head back out of town. It should be 2 weeks before my co-workers see me or I will be very excited to see if they can tell what I have done. Thanks to everyone who has asnwered my questions and those of others. I don't want to wish to lose several months of my life but I am so excited to see how my hair works in May, June and July. Dr. Cooley is the man!

  6. Rockwell I know it's a lot of money but this is the way I look at it. Most people use their car for less than 2 hours per day and it normally losses more than $10,000 in value in less than 3 years while you can enjoy your hair for 24 hours per day and it should last you a lifetime. I don't know how old you are but lets say it should last 30 years at least so you tell me which is the better value?
  7. I have read about shock/shedding loss and still have some questions. 1. Is the shock loss of hair due to HT all over your head? 2. Did you feel the hair loss was noticable to others? 3. Was the hair loss more in some areas than others? 4. How long did the shock loss of hair last and how quickly did the new hair replace it? 5. Was the hair around the doner area affected by the surgery as far as hair growth? 6. What time frame have most other people expereinced shock loss (only on your first HT)? 7. How much shock loss did you expereince with taking Avodartor Proscar? 8. What time frame did you start seeing the loss once you started takng the drugs? I am sorry for all the questions but everyone taks about shock loss but it something that has not been explained very well and I am sure many people have similar questions. Thanks tntiger

  9. Good Luck Mike I'm sure Dr. Cooley will do a great job for you. I hate to tell you but I'm another person scheduled ahead of you too. I am having my HT on Dec 20th. I was going to mention something about the money. I had thought about applying for another credit card that lets you transfer money from one card to another and no finance charges. I get frequent flyer miles on my Bank of America card for US Air and I thought I would get another card and let them pay it off and then take advantage of the better terms. What does everyone think? I think there are a couple of companies offering this. As far as my hair loss its about 3A maybe less and I'm having 2,500 grafts done. The plan is to fill in on the temples and increase the density on top in the middle. No serious loss in the crown but am starting Avodart anyway. I'm getting Avodart due to cheap cost for me. It sounds like I am going to be in the chair a lot longer than I had planned but I hadn't planned on doing anything else that day anyway! Ha Ha Once the procedure is over when is the next time you go back to the office. I know you have to wait a least a week before he says they can clean up the area aggresively.
  10. Many people mistakenly think that you have to wheese to have asthma and nothing could be farther from the truth. I am curious as to whether or not you son ever wakes up at night because of his cough espically after midnight? It is important to treat asthma all the time and not just when you have symptoms. An asthmatic has inflamation that is damaging his airways even though the cough may go away for a while. Primary care doctors are often very slow to label someone with asthma but that's the worse thing for the patient. I will be happy to help you all that I can. The most common medication is Advair but you need to find out for certain if he does have asthma. Does he have allergies? How old is he? I would take him to a pulmonary specialist.
