  1. I need about 700 grafts put in my hairline. I was just thinking about it and was wondering how exactly it's done. I guess the any grafts from the strip would have to be split into single hair grafts ?

  3. You need to do A LOT OF RESEARCH. Yes the HT will help but you have diffuse thinning which makes it much harder. Even in the best hands you may get some shockloss and in bad hands it could be quite a bit. You are also going to continue to lose hair as you age so you will most likely need multiple proceudre before you are 30. I would not let anyone touch your hair except H+W, Shapiro and Dr Feller As Dakota said you need EVERY GRAFT you can get and IMO FUE is not an option for you
  4. You can't get a HT HOPING that cloning will be out in 5-10 years when there is no reason to believe that whatsoever. In 2000 HM was 5 years away or so we thought. As far as the transplants remember he has dark hair. The NW6's we have seen like Jotronic and Bobman have light hair which makes all the difference in the world when it comes to density. You also have a guy here talking about going to the Dominican to save $$ on his surgery so I doubt he has the 40K to drop for the multiple surgeries he would need.
  5. I would forget it and shave your head. IMO you have way too much hair loss at age 22 to get a transplant
  6. Good Choice. How much are you paying per graft ? From what I have seen strip gives much more density than FUE
  7. Kev, I pointed you to my photos in the Rogaine/Propecia thread. Look at my 12 month and 16 month photos and you will see a big difference. No way all of that was the drugs but more than likely a good amount was my HT growing in from months 12-16. I can honestly say if I had surgery done the day I had the 12 month pics taken and it looked the way it does today I would be 90% satisfied. Instead I waited and the hair filled in itself. I am the guy in the red shirt and my hair is much thicker now at 20 months post op than it the after photo taken at 16 months in this link http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/showthread.php?t=149286
  8. Bill, The only issue I have with him doing multiple surgeries per day is he went put of his way to state he doesn't do them. Dr E said he only does follow ups and consults during the surgery. If he said he did multiple surgeries I would be fine with it. Since he said he did 513 in 2007 obviously more days than not he is performing multiple surgeries. I hope he didn't "misremember" like Roger Clemens said of Andy Petitte, lol
  9. As I said in my post he has stated this 3 times and now has an exact number of 513 which if he worked 5 days a week would involve ~ 2 surgeries a day. I don't care if he does more than one but when he claims he doesn't I have an issue with it.
  10. I find that funny because I have been on HT forums for years and never heard of him so I could not possibly have an issue with him. BTW I find a DR claiming to do 517 procedures in one year at one procedure a day a REAL ISSUE for obvious reasons. Maybe we should let the Dr answer for himself. What do you think ?
  11. Dr E I was going to let this slide as a typo on your part but you have stated in three seperate posts that you perform 500 procedures a year. Now you say you don't perform multiple procedures per day. Could you please explain how it's possible even working 7 days a week in a leap year to perform 500 procedures in a year only doing one procedure per day ?
  12. Why would they be doing surgery on July 4th anyhow ?
  13. Why didn't Epstein inform TTDS this at the time of his surgery then? While the rest of it sounds calm, cool, and level headed....I dunno. Four or so patients who have significant concerns who are all at 6 months+ post op? They should be at 60% growth by now, let alone TTDS 9 month (?)...In addition, while post-op pics would be 'helpful' for TTDS, it really isn't that important, in that he was totally BALD prior to the procedure. We should be able to tell if 2,500 (or however many) grafts are growing out of his BALD head? What does it matter where they were placed? Unless Dr. E put them in his side burns or beard or something, it really doesn't matter---- he was *BALD*... It was previously sited that 4-5 patients w/poor growth a year is a "meager" 5% of his annual clientel; and that the 'x' factor was attributed to be the culprit, in discussions w/other experts in the industry (i.e. Feller & Matt Shapiro's patient educator) they claim there is NO 'x' factor, w/the exception of grafts "thinning" on those patients who have 'quirky' genes. Even still, it is no where near 5% (?)...and the 'thinning' phenomena is SURELY not what is happening w/these patients. they simply are not GROWING the grafts that were placed... Sure, it all sounds level-headed: we want to give him the benefit of the doubt, the patients aren't *fully* matured yet, etc. etc... -BUT- I dunno...four or five patients ALL w/the same problem, that is *no* growth, and one of them is already NINE months out? Most, if not all, of the grafts should already be visible on his scalp, they would merely not be matured yet...too many 'bad' coincedences as far as Im concerned... I'm not defending him but DR E said 3-4 of the 500 patients he works on a year have problems so that would be less than 1% with growth issues not 5%.
  14. Thats EXACTLY how I feel. Im here to help my balding brothers and thats it. Top 2-3 Yea I saw that top 2-3 qoute from DR E. I have been on forums for years and never even heard of the guy
  15. If you post that again with the caps lock off and proper spacing maybe I will read it.
  16. Before you panic check out my pics. The first shots were taken in Dr Shapiros office 12 months post op of 1K grafts with Ivan Cohen. The second pic is taken 16 months post op. I doubt all of the regrowth was from foam and Propecia and also included the HT growing in. I have also thickened up quite a bit since the last photo was taken in Dec of 2007 and will have photos up soon taken from the same angle and lighting conditions http://hair-restoration-info.com/eve/forums/a/albumcomm...861/m/5281051253/p/1
  17. I would use the foam and Propecia for a year while you research Dr's. At that point you will have a much better understanding of what you want and which Dr you want to do it plus you will have all of the regrowth you are going to get from the drugs and that could save you $$ and grafts
  18. You should check out Shapiro in MN, Feller in NY and H+W before making any decisions. Strip will save you a lod of dough. HT's are not fun and take at least a year to grow in fully ( mine took 18 months)so I would get as much work done in one shot as possible. I bet if you try the Propecia/ Rogaine Foam combo you will get some regrowth.
  19. Hey I was just wondering how long a can of foam is lasting you guys ? I'm getting an average of 17 days from a can. It's working great for me and I have quite a bit of hair (need maybe a 1K graft touchup in the hairline area) an there is no way 1/2 capfull would cover my head. I was just thinking some people may not be using enough as I think I'm using exactly what I need to cover my head from hairline to crown. If people could post how long a can lasts, where you apply it, how long you have been on it and your results that would be great. a can lasts me 17 days I apply it from my crown to hairline been using it approx 1 year I have good crown results, great mid scalp results, only been using it on the hairline about 2 months but I'm seeing many small hairs already

  21. Hi Janna I was going to send you an email with these questions but I don't think I have ever seen them addressed on the forums so many members may not even know they exist. On my first two HT's the injections into the back of my head to removed the strip were next to painless however the injections into the top of my head for the grafts hurt beyond belief. For procedure #3 Dr Cohen had a hand held vibrating device (ok no jokes guys, lol) that he used on the top of my head while he gave the shots. I'm not sure exactly how it worked but the vibration on my head made those shots almost painless. My question is does Dr Shapiro offer this ? After my first two procedures I decided not to get the cortisone shot that was offered to me and had a lot of swelling. On my 3rd procedure I got the shot and had very little if any swelling. Does Dr Shapiro offer cortisone shots after the procedure ? I have one more question that I sent you via email. Thanks

  23. Nelly, Do you have any pics of your transplant with Shapiro ? I'm going to have some hairline work done with him late this year, probably about 1200 Fu's
  24. What a read that was. If the blogger omitted the bad language he would be taken much more seriously. Anyway if what he says is true he may get Cole in trouble and get some cash but he will get nothing from the poor results as he signed his life away before surgery no doubt
