Isn't this silly ...
Now I am worried about Witch Hazel making my existing hairs fail out!!!!
Anyone know if Witch Hazel causes existing hairs to fall out????????? Is rubbing alcohol better to use?????
Gosh -such a nervous Nelly

Thanks Smoothy and Dewayne.
I am taking hot showers and applying witch hazel. Hopefully, this will make them go away.

I am getting pimples on the recipient area -- or at least they look like pimples, after three weeks post op. Is this normal?
I applied a little pressure to two of them and some fluid came with a little blood. This wasn't the graft coming out, do you think? How would I know if a graft has come out??
Thanks.

Dr. Carman,
Thanks for the reply. This makes me feel better.

Well, I finally did it. I had 2300 grafts put in by Dr. Vogel on July 25th. Still very nervous and will be happy once everything heals. All my scabs and crusting are gone -- not much redness on top, I was expecting more.
Questions:
1) I started to have a little serous drainage ( Day 7 ) coming from the donor area incision. It is not much but does put a spot or two on my pillow when sleeping. It seems to happen after the area becomes moist -- either by putting on bacitracin or after taking a shower. Once the area is dry, it does not drain anymore. The incision looks great and there is no swelling and/or pus. Is this normal??
2) I have some shock-loss mostly in the donor area. I am seeing about 7-8 hairs fall out each time when showering so far -- BUMMER!! Is this normal? Is 7-8 hairs a lot?
The only surprise was that Dr. Vogel shaved the top of my head when doing the HT which bummed me out. I was trying to hold on to what I had. It seems more common for docs to shave the recipient area.

Just had a HT yesterday afternoon and I have a few dried blood spots in the recipient area. Will this damage any of transplanted hair and/or existing hair? Will the hair still grow?
I am hoping after a few showers, it will go away but I want to be careful not to rub.
Is there an easier way to clean the spots up without damaging the grafts?
Thanks in advance.

I am new to the forum and considering hair transplant surgery. I am thinking of using Dr. Franklin Weinstein in Maryland and was wondering if anyone had used him before or at least look into using him?
Is he a good doctor for hair transplant surgery or should I seek out others?
Thanks in advance.

Hey instinct1,
In my situation, I originally scheduled the HT in Sept but my doctor had a cancellation in July, so I filled that spot and saved 20%.
Hope this helps.
