Hello everyone, I was a silent reader on this forum for few years and finally decided to take the plunge. I contacted Dr. Madhu Pathuri online and booked an HT with his clinic for Dec 3rd 2011. I was scared of a lot of things around HT especially scar, no growth, shockloss etc. I waited almost 2 years before deciding to go ahead with the HT transplant. My experience with Dr Madhu was awesome. He is a very nice and humble guy. Explained everything in detail. The procedure took around 8 hrs (maybe a little less). I got around 2800 grafts and around 6700 hair. Dr Madhu asked me how much hair would I like to be transplanted. I told me the max that can be extracted. I came back to US and last few months I have not been able to post much on the forum. Its 5 months now and I would like to post some pictures on this forum. After 5 months, I am thrilled to see my hair grow. I believe if things progress the way it is now, I would have a thick and excellent hair growth in next 6-8 months. So far it looks really nice. I get lot of compliments from my friends. I would like to thank this forum for all the information that helped me choose the best option for my HT. Thanks Wild

Hi, I took the plunge and got my HT surgery done with Dr. Madhu on 12/03/2011. Dr. Madhu did an excellent job. I will post my HT pics soon.I would like to know if anyone know of any good clinic in Mumbai that can remove Nylon suture from the donor area? Thanks

I know its too early to comment, but I do see some growth. I compared your pre HT pics with the current pics and I see improvement. next 2-3 months, you should see substantial growth... good luck.

What would cause the final results at maturity to not match what is being shown in the video? I am reading a lot about folks with no growth after 12-13 months. I was really planning to get an HT from a recommended doctor in india. I am a little worried after reading all the nogrowers posts.

I am interested in the question posted by jacksonbrowne. Donor scar is one of my biggest HT worry. We would appreciate if you could post the details of the sutures that were used and the "tried and tested" ones? Thanks

ok., I have been on these forums for 2-3 years and was always skeptical of HT surgery. But now I feel, I should go for it. I have few questions. 1. How much difference is there in the quality of surgery among different coalition doctors. Say Dr Madhu, Dr Feller, Dr H&W. If the difference is marginal, I would like to save some money and go to Dr Madhu (since I have that option). The cost difference for 3000 - 3500 grafts would be about $10,000. That is big saving. Since all coalition Dr are considered to be top notch, does the quality of surgery differ a lot? . I believe the hairline creation, inserting grafts would be quite standard amongs docs. 2. If I elect to be on stand by for a surgery (In case of a cancellation), how much discount do the doctors usually provide? 3. The thing I am worried about and which held me from going for the surgery is the scar. Does the scar size/width differ between Dr or is it a standard procedure and the scar size would be the same no matter which Dr performs the surgery? 4. Would a trichophytic closure show a scar on a razor shaved head? 5. I have been trying to find a razor shave head after HT, but could not find one. Can somebody post some pics? I would believe that people who perform HT want their head full as quick as possible and would never want to do a razor shave of their head. That might be the reason for me not finding a pic 6. Can the Hair loss progress after HT and start showing the scar area? That would be really bad to look at. What options do people have if a thing like that happens?
