Thanks ttaco & phl! I woull like a 3rd, somewhat smaller HT- Dr. Beehner believes I have enough donor hair, but I'll always have to wear my hair somewhat longer to cover sparse areas in back . I am using "Finesse Volumizing Shampoo for Fine, Thin Hair". Seems to work pretty well. AT times I will use Derm Match, which also helps blend sparse areas. I had 860 grafts my 1st HT & 902 my 2nd, the majority FU's with small mini's combined in the central area to give it a fuller density look.

These 2 photos were taken with a professional camera & much better & clearer show the hairline. You can see my before pics - 1st HT, & also 8mos. after, just before my 2nd. HT w/ Dr. Beehner, on "Post Your own HT Photos"-under username "kar", last comment Feb. 10, 2003. You can see from the photos what a positive difference there is. Never dreamed I'de have this much "hair" in front, after only 2 HT's, being an advanced Norwood 6. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

Just took some pics at home - 10 1/2 mos. after my 2nd HT w/Dr. Beehner. Hair came out a little darker than it actually is, but still not bad. You can get my previous posting, explanations, etc. under "Post Your Own Hair Transplant Photos" page 2 under kar for topic starter. To give a small summary, I am 58, an advanced Norwood 6 w/very fine sparse hair, having worn a hairpiece for over 35 years. Dr. Beehner's pleasing personality & candid non-pressure opinion and suggestions were impressive. I can't begin to tell how nice it is to have hair where there wasn't any. Dr. Beehner artistically placed the grafts (860 1st session, 902 2nd session) to give a nice perceived sense of fullness. At times, I will use a little DermMatch, and I also use a good natural non-alcohol hairspray (Jason Thin to Thick), which has body builders in it. There is no derm-match or spray in the photos. I'm going next week to see about a 3rd somewhat smaller HT. A lot depends on my elasticity & donor hair, which I believe is pretty much used up, but I'm not a surgeon, so I'll await Dr. Beehner's opinion. Picture is 10 1/2 mo. after 2nd Ht. dude 1 Thanks! A 3rd HT will depend on many factors, among them my having limited & sparse donor hair & how much density I will acheive from my 2nd HT. I had what is technically called a "frontal- midscalp forelock", which emphasizes density centrally & places follecular units in decreasing density off to the sides and rear. By the way, I forgot to mention on my post that a good portion of what little hair I had on the front of my head was the result of Propecia. Kar

(all my married life), although I never paid very much for a piece, doing my own repair work, etc. Also involved in training & teaching Martial Arts & self-defense for 38 yrs. Approx. 4 yrs. ago, I started propecia &(shock!) I started growing some hair on the vertex, sides (upper) & lower crown sides. Even my dermatologist was surprised because of my age. Found the Hair Transplant Network, contacted Pat, & through careful research, decided on Dr. Michael Beehner, and last year I had a private consultation w/absolutely no pressure. in fact, Dr. Beehner complimented the hairpiece. i decided to have my 1st H.T. on Jan. 4, 2002. Those who have never seen me w/out a hairpiece genuinely complimented me when I told them I got tired of wearing a hairpiece. (The hairpiece also aggravated my Seborrheic Dermatitis) Even my son, who hasn't seen me w/out a piece for many yrs. said I never had that much hair before & it looked good. (That was before I told him of the transplant). All this is said, hopefully, to encourage a person at any age to continue Propecia & no matter how old or advanced you are at hairloss, there is help & hope in whatever you decide if you determine to patiently pursue & persever in choosing what is best for you.
