  1. I've been using Minoxidil for about two years now? (Actually started before that but couldn't get the habit down so it was on again / off again. Finally got habitual. I only use is at night before going to bed - but have to admit even still I forget sometimes. Not that often, though.) To be honest, I can't tell that it's done ANYthing. My hair lost has continued to get worse. Like MUCH worse. Of course I'm WAY too paranoid to quit using it now, afraid of even worse disaster. I've never tried the foam and am wondering if that would make a difference. ??? Glad to hear others have had great results. I wish I could say the same.
  2. Thanks for this discussion. I am planning on going on Propecia sometime soon and would like to give it one year - just to see. I've been using Rogaine for a couple of years and have found my situatin just getting worse and worse, but I'm too paranoid to stop using it for fear that things will REALLY get disastrous. ??? I'm usually wary of drugs - I DON'T aspirin and things like that (maybe a sinus pill if I'm desperate.) But I wanna try everything. Thanks for mentioning sex drive and morning wood. I have a pretty low sex drive as it is, and I've wondered if I'd become some sort of eunich. I HOPE NOT! lol But I have a question: Does finasteride affect body hair at all? Can anyone report their experience?
  3. W O W I'm so thrilled to have found y'all! L O L *whew* And actually, very impressed to see that even with all the negativity and skepticism regarding Bosley that in fact, there's skepticism of overt and weird complaints that don't make sense. YAY. When I start developing some informed questions, I KNOW I've found the right group to answer.
  4. Hi Fox! New, too; you by a couple of days. Howdee.
  5. Of course we'd appreciate photos, before and after, of hair and eyes. Sorry to hear you're disappointed. Have you discussed with your surgeon? I think you need to tell him the honest truth - EXACTLY what you told us. If he's really "top guy" he'll appreciate it and I'm sure he'll have something to offer to make it right. Right? Am I crazy?
  6. I have a VERY expressive face, which people like, and it's funny, and blah blah blah but DAMN I'm going to be one wrinkled old man! I've been thinking about it for right between my brows. Can you still MOVE afterward? lol Do you look stiff and weird or are you very comfortable with the FEELING, not just the look. I'd love to know. 'Coz I kinda think I might be headed that way, but I'm SO SHY about mentioning it to anyone. Ya know?
  7. F*ck! I'm so glad I found this web site. THANK YOU JULIEN, for knowing I needed to find this place. I DID. I was like, I am NOT going to spend $$$ I can not afford and end up looking like one of my former roommates (HORRIBLE HT, poor thing; I felt so bad for him.) But I knew: I'm not ready to give up and say good bye to hair. It's just not me. So I found this site and THANK YOU for being honest, up-front, candid, and oh yeah: telling it like it is. Glad to meetcha guys! (And Mr. B Spot)
  8. I'm around 5'-7" or a little under and I LOVE IT. I LOVE shortness! I am so CUTE! lol Actually, I'm small all around, except in the one area where it really counts *a-hem* but sometimes I'm on the subway or the bus and I look over at the LEGS next to me or whatever, and I'm like, WOW - I am so tiny! *blush* Yikes. But I like being me. I like the fact that I fit ANYwhere!
  9. Forgot to say: that ABSOLUTELY there are others out there with stories like yours, with several months or more of smoking sobriety and then went back. A co-worker here in the office said he quit for six months before and went back. (And he's now at 8 months yet again.) And a guy I knew a few years ago said he'd quit for TEN YEARS only to start again. It REALLY is an addiction, like alcoholism. You need to talk about it, confront it, and just don't loose sight of the goal. And ignore all these people that make light of it - it's A BIG DEAL! Ugh. HUGE. I tried patches, I tried gum. I was prepared to try hypnosis, therapy - ALL of it. And if I relapse I shall continue those efforts. I go through phases of snacking - nuts with no salt, dried cranberries this week, CARROTS have been really useful - try to snack on healthy stuff. Good luck, Sir!
  10. Robert, YES, I have had that experience. Granted, I hadn't made it as far in quitting as you had. Over a three year period I must've 'quit smoking' 20 times. It was starting to drive me crazy. And I discovered, I can't go out drinking with people who smoke. Period. I've now successfully *knock wood* quit again, this time cold turkey. It's been 18+ weeks. I CAN drink. I avoided it entirely for weeks, but then allowed myself to have a glass of wine with dinner and a non-smoking companion. Then worked my way up to be able to have cocktails with non-smokers. Now I've even gone out and had cocktails with smokers BUT, when they go out to have their cigarette, I stay inside! I'm sorry for your lapse, but glad to hear you've not given up hope. Just think of it one step in the struggle. And it will be a life-long thing. I know I'll always be a smoker and always be at risk for going back. One day at a time. This is my first post! I am SO happy to have found this site. Just started doing research this week. Probably over a year away from surgery. Thanks guys!
