  1. I was wondering if anyone who has taken, or is taking finasteride has experienced random heart palpitations. If so, I would be very interested in hearing your story. I am somewhat new this type of information but apparently Finasteride has the ability to decrease levels of allopregnanolone in the human brain. This protein complex is located in the central nervous system and helps modulate chemicals travelling to the brain that assist in modulating certain human behaviors. One of which being anxiety. I am wondering, if there has been any further study into this. As we all know, DHT not only plays a role in causing androgenic allopecia, but also travels through the central nervous system and aids in the functioning of every part of our body. If any of you, have at all felt random heart palpitations, pleas let me know!
  2. Hello to all, I recently recieved an online consultation from a doctor that had recommended 2000 grafts via fue. This would be my first transplant, i'm a norwood 4 -5, and am 33 years old. After reading some information about fue I'm a bit curious how a doctor can do 2000 grafts via fue. I thought for a standard fue procedure the max a doctor could yeild in one session would be around 800 grafts. If anyone has any comments to this post it would be greatly appreciated. I'm very close to considering a transplant and one of my main concerns is the scarring left from the procedure. I would like to have the ability to shave my head in the future. Thank you,

  4. hello, a question about long term effects of finasteride. i read an fda talk paper from 1997 that stated the fda has approved finasteride for men's hairloss. in that same paper it suggests that pregnant women should not come in contact with finasteride. how can the same drug that is "safe" for men be unsafe for pregnant women? is there any information on the long term effects of this drug. ten year period, twenty?

  6. for example, i went to a consultation last night with doctor fienberg. he stated that he would transplant 800 fu's. i asked how large a strip it would take to get 800. i understand that the strip is magnefied and dissected. what i want to know is if doctors can give an exact size of the strip that they remove from the back of your head. or is that something that is calculated the day of surgery? as far as follicular unit extraction, if i'm in need of 1400 fu's (as an example), would it be possible to get that many. which doctors are have enough experience in fue transplantation?
  7. just wondering if anyone new about a convention next month (october), in new york.

  9. hello to all. its been a while since i have posted on this site. your responses are professional and that is why i'm posting again. my concern is how to get a doctor to give an accurate description of the size (measurement)of the graft and an amount of grafts that they can extract from that strip. could this then be a way to evaluate the different doctors, in terms of their efficiency with the strip?
