  1. So I've been lurking these forums for probably about 2 and a half years... other than taking Propecia for the last three and a half years, I haven't had much advice to offer, but it's nice to read others' experiences... so now I have it set in my mind, no doubt, one year from now I going to get a hair transplant. There I said it.. you know people laugh at me when I tell them... but it's no joke to me. I am an entertainer, and image has always been important in my field... I haven't gone without a hat but twice in public in the last year. I'm not into concealers, though maybe I should have tried them, but playing the kind of music I do doesn't require me to look all that formal. More than anything, I have lost a lot of confidence.. and I sometimes wonder what people are thinking because I always wear a hat... I wore hats all the time as a kid, but from like 19 - 28, I hardly ever wore them... and here we are with my lack of self esteem and wanting to be "free" again... I don't need to look 20, I just want to look good in the mirror... even if it's only for me. So I have narrowed down my list of doctors to: 1. Hasson & Wong 2. Shapiro 3. Rahal All of these doctors continually post excellent results and I think if they charged 5 times the normal doctor, I would still go. But you know, price wise, they all seem pretty damn reasonable... how much would you pay for your life back?? So as I take this journey, I will start posting some pics once I figure out how to make a blog... I just thought it was time to come out of the closet and say.. here I am, I'm balding and I'm gonna do something about it finally. Thanks for listening.. and let me say, a ton of you have been very inspirational over the years... I appreciate this forum very much and it has kept my spirits up for a long time. Regards, DiggityDoc
  2. Just my experience but I have been on Propecia for over three years (yeah I still buy it at 3 dollars a pill, i am hoping to talk my doctor into something generic this week to make it cheaper.. I've probably spent way more than I needed to supporting the major drug company.) Anyhow, I have never noticed any loss in libido.. I really think it's in some people's head... Just my opinion though... stick with it! I wake with a boner EVERY day and I think the older I get the more I am trying to knock down the ladies..
  3. I gotta be honest.... some of those photos don't even look like the same guy. Look at the slope of his forehead in the before/after shots....
  4. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I just finally got home from Iraq last month. So... no photos, but I have been steadily reading the forums and I wanted to say a few things about my experience since starting July 1st this year. I was losing hair at a pretty rapid rate. Since getting on propecia, my hair loss has halted almost completely. Instead of seeing hundreds of hairs per day in my hand when I shower, it's down to 10-20 which is probably normal. My hair changed. It got really thin for a while, and then it has begun to thicken. I did go through a pretty good shed, but it was mostly in areas I was already losing hair. This happened around month 2 through month 4. Yes, a long time, but I knew it was working for me. I have had no side effects. My sex drive is great. My penis has not shrunk, actually in all honesty, I think it may have gotten bigger, but probably not from this drug. I think if you are interested in taking a drug, you should come in with the mindset that you wont develop side effects. The mind can play tricks on you. Other than that, I am taking a daily multi-vitamin and a something called MSM. I hope this makes some of you feel better. I am waiting til I have been on this drug for a year before I make any consultations to a doctor for a HT. I'm not sure what my Norwood level is, but I'd have to say that I was losing hair on the crown. I'd call it diffuse thinning and I lost hair on the hairline. I am a 29 y/o male and I noticed my hairloss about 3-4 years ago. I did about 6 months research on here and other forums before seeing a doctor. Do I wish I had started earlier? I'm sure we all do. But, this is the course I'd like to take. In the end, I plan to restore my hairline and continue using propecia to help limit my hairloss. Hope this helps some of you interested in starting some type of hair loss prevention. If you have any questions, don't hestitate to ask. My regimen - 1mg Propecia daily 1500mg MSM daily Multivitamin daily

  6. Great title... sit back... this question wasn't easy to ask this forum. Ok.... I can transplant a kidney to my brother or some other relative generally. Now a relative who has a full head of hair. Can that relative donate hair to another relative? Has this ever been experimented?? Just curious.... I was just thinking about it while sitting here doing nothing... would like to hear some feedback.

  8. It's an expensive process to test for drugs in hair and urine. So most companies only test for certain types of drugs such as narcotics. And if you have a prescription for a drug, then you can't be held liable for that paticular drug. I imagine most companies would not test for it, as it would be an added expense.
  9. I'm a month and week in.... I have noticed no effect on my erections. (Thank god)... but I think when I first started, I may have noticed a slight change, but overall, I have noticed less and less hair in the sink, no regrowth yet... I'm not expecting to grow hair like a CHIA pet, just as long as it slows it down. I think that when you first start a drug, some of the things you experience are part psychological... all I can say is that I stopped looking in the mirror every morning and just "know" in my head that it is working. I think as with anything, if you don't have a positive outlook with it, it won't work. The mind is a powerful thing.
  10. I have been reading this forum for the last few months and have just started on Propecia since July 1st. I think I am a NW 2 maybe 2.5... not really sure. I plan on uploading some pics and hopefully getting a HT this fall when I return to the states. Mainly, I just wanted to say that I think the support here is really good as there is no one you can really talk about this stuff with that understands what you are going through. The common response is "why you think you need that?... etc..etc.." People just don't understand or is it just me?

  12. I have to shave everyday (job requirement). I could only wish it slowed down my facial hair growth, but I haven't noticed any effect on that although it would be nice...
