I had 1500 fit back in Oct. 2003. Recipient area was smooth and the Ht was to fill in receding hairline for framing of the face. I had a concern prior to surgery regarding the impact of shock loss in this area because i really didn't want to chase a recession with additional procedures. I quickly noticed that shedding or balding started to take place throuhgout the crown area and particularly in the front behind the HT. I am on proscar [1/4 tablets] Up until the surgery My hair pretty much was stabilized except for front recession. I felt that at age 55 some additional thinning would naturally occur over time but this is ridiculous. Anybody experience this after HT? I do notice small hairs in the balding area behind the HT but it has been almost 6 months and I am very concerned that my worse fears are coming true. That I will have to chase this first HT back with addtional surgeries. Is this an option that makes sense or will additional surgeries just accelerate the recession? I am more self conscious with my present state than before the HT. It creates a very unnatural look and is very unsettling. Any ideas about this concern?

Placed an order for proscar on 11/04. never received product and contacted the company several times with no success. In fact they were very rude replies in their e-mail and continued to make the point that terms of their agreement would fight any credit card disputes which they believe are waived when doing business with them. i have found another source for this product. BE VERY AWARE OF DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS RIPOFF COMPANY

i have been taking proscar for 2 months on a daily basis. Recently I have numb sensation feeling in my lips, sort of similar to cold sore. At first, in fact, i thought it was the beginnings of a cold/fever sore but nothing has developed and the sensation continues Could this be a side affect of propecia/proscar? Anyone out there experience similar side affects after a period of time?

I received a HT by Dr. Feller on 10/16 1500 grafts on hairline with strip surgery. I have posted photos of the surgery on this site. take a look. I found Feller open to showing previous HT and providing a list of people to contact. In fact I met personally with one referral and inspected the scar area and the front hairline. It was 1 year after procedure and the scar was nearly impossible to detect when looking at the raised hair. The front was extemely dense and the best comment I can offer was that the HT was not noticeable, very natural. I decided to go with Dr. Feller based on this research. I have never had a previous procedure and found this website very informative in prepping for an HT. About 3 weeks and life is back to normal.

Luckily I had the opportunity to wear a baseball cap. Yankees were in the series and I used it to wear cap to work. After the following weekend i went back to work with no hat, hair a haircut to help the ceasar look and feather in the donor area. All went well, really no one noticed..never heard a comment or question. It probably was more self conscious for me than others being interested in how I look. Kind of amazing really. you think it stands out but it really didn't. Since I had only small area in front hairline I'm sure the impact is different with major HT. I even have shaved the front peak to reduce what i thought would be a too perfect line of stubble. ready to see the new growth down the line. Will keep it combed forward while new hairline becomes established. thanks for asking

10 days post op. stitches are out. scabs pretty much gone. some redness remains. I wonder, Do i let it grow in in the next couple of months or do you guys think buzzing my head when hair starts is the way to go? any comments appreciated

Probably the way i will deal with it. It will be curious if any of my contemporaries will ask about the HT, seeing as how most could use benefit from one.

Maybe a hat will do the trick or maybe i can say I had an unfortunate experience with my bee keeper headgear. Or maybe i volunteered for some special gov't project involving mosquito repellent. I was in the placebo group. The truth... they can't handle the TRUTH!
