  1. its true that MY HT didnt give me good density.. its true that Aaron1234's HT didnt give him good density its true that 'john malloys' HT didnt give him good density its truth that TTP's HT didnt even the emperor's hairline in notably thin its also true that the ONLY way to remedy this ever existing problem with HTs is to undergo ANOTHER procedure, all while burning up MORE donor and all while we continue to lose more hair. even for many who DID recieve good density did so at high cost of using a alot of donor. those people will have less options and coverage available for the rest of their heads as the continue to bald.. also thana.. u say there are a large segment of people whom HM is not a "dire need"... i find this a bit funny since HAIRLOSS IS PROGRESSIVE IN ALMOST ALL CASES.....so thana, how many of these guys who arent in "dire need" of the luxury HM would provide WILL need it a WHOLE LOT MORE DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THEY LOSE HAIR AND ARE LEFT WITH A THINNING TRANSPLANT UP FRONT AND ever minaturizing hairs on the rest or their heads.. were NOT talking about dudes with 'mature hairlines' here thana were talking about guys who have MPB and are GOING BALD. i feel this is a valid question since you are the perfect example of someone who will in time not have your crown or midscalp.. your young thana like me..i know you think about this. now tell the people why this procedure is still worth the YEARS of trouble, and the years of maintenance, the potential risks, and the for sure scarring. they listen to you HM is the only hope i have.. any future HTs i have from this point forward SERVE ONE PURPOSE ONLY at this stage... and thats to keep me from looking like a FREAK with a thin patch of hair growing unnaturally in my front third throughout my 30's 40's and 50's. or a freak with a stretched ear to ear jagged scar and minimal pitting in the hairline when shaved down... either way i put myself in a situation where im forced to have more work done, just like the MAJORITY of HT patients.. and thats the reality of it Bill--for the maybe 20,000 time now you have labled me negative during my time here.. while i respect your position i know something that you obviously dont... and thats that im an unbelievable human being.. every day i do good for this world and other people, whether its here or not.. every day i care about other humans. every day i have the goal to impact people lives for the better, and im not simply talking about HERE as this forum is nothing but a TINY portion of my worth.. unlike many of my religious folk out there, i dont live this way because i desire some type of REWARD from god when i die..nope, i could care less about where i go when i die, ill cross that bridge when i get there... I care about others BECAUSE I CHOOSE TO LIVE THIS WAY. because it feels correct at my core to care about MORE than just me... so when i come to this place and speak up what MANY OTHERS FEEL AND KNOW about hair transplants and i am constantly, time and time again labled as a NEGATIVE person by the moderator simply because i dont believe in the procedure he promotes it makes one wonder what the problem REALLY is. i have alot of character, and thats not something a modorators mis guided belief of me can alter.
  2. for real.. the title is a bit dramatic huh..... look the bottom line is once a viable treatment hits via stem cell, cellular matrix, WHATEVER then this forum becomes FAR less needed and in a short time will be obsolete.... while i like spending so much time with you boys and girls this is a dream i hope is realized in the next few years...... because if anyone is REALLY honest with themselves then they know that hair transplants are a flawed procedure, not capable of giving a decent portion of their patients fulfilling results.. anyone who wants even decent density had better have amazing characteristics or minimal loss and pray it stays that way by doing what??? thats right they must pop a daily pill that unnaturally alters their body chemistry and hormones.. all while possessing potential unforseen future ramifications... i pray we all see the day that online hair loss forums die at the hands of a real treatment or procedure.. for 90% of us it will be the ONLY way our hairloss stops being an issue if you ask me
  3. shoot me str8 bill should i throw my hat in the ring or not??? haha...
  4. ok friend. im going to break down every single statment i made, that i deem fact. then you can explain where my logic is flawed... and more importantly WHY these GENERAL rules cannot be useful to someone struggling with their HT decision like the OP has expressed... you should NOT attempt to discredit my accurate post simply because i left out the the often used line "characteristics play a major role".. but your accurate on that point. they do. here are my claims in the order i made them 1..." the vast majority of patients DO have more than one procedure"so going into this decision with that mentaity one is 'likely fooling' themselves------- in my years speaking with guys online,(active posters and quiet lurkers alike) as well as applying COMMON SENSE that in cases of MPB hairloss IS A progressive ailment, meaning that thru time those with native hair making their transplants look "good" LOSE it and to maintain something close to that natural look must and DO undergo future procedures. OR they are ALREADY high NWs in which case evidence STRONGLY suggests that they will and DO have future procedures... 2..."one really needs to look at this procedure big picture"........ what do you think labrat? do you feel one should do their best to factor in their long term potential future loss before making this decision? 3...strip method improves the likelyhood of better yield, but that is also contingent upon what dr you choose, and the overall size of procedure.... this is well known that strip as a whole yields better than FUE, FUE is more difficult, and more time consuming. the extraction method is NOT the same as dividing an excised strip using magnification... 4...'unforseen factors can and do arise'... now i admit this was a geralization so allow me to provide one example of what i meant by it... if you lurk on this site or any for that matter you WILL see cases of poor growth with no apparent reason, even from so called top docs.. in these cases the dr usually chalks it up to the patients "bad physiology" which in and of it self is a HARSH generalization made by the doctor, yet most posters simply agree and move on..while i believe this occurence is much less likely among the HANDFUL of elite drs, its still a possibility that deserves to NOT be pushed aside entirely IMO. 5...' just because the dr your choosing posts on this site frequently does NOT mean you are guaranteed a solid outcome' common sense.. do you disagree? 6..HTs are lifelong commitments, that often result in patients paying MORE attention to their hair and hairloss'..... personally this has been MY experience, i believe aaron1234's experience.. even in the more successful cases like THANA's you will notice HE is not free from his hairloss, infact he is quite cognizant of the state of his thinning crown.. making sure to 'tackle' it via any method available all while knowing he is likely doing nothing more than buying as much time as he can until he sits down in that chair again. Bill has had 4 of them, so i ask you labrat did his hairloss stop being a BIG factor in Bill life after his 1st, 2nd or even 3rd!! procedure?? what do you think?.. these are just 4 tiny examples of my larger point that anyone can feel FREE TO CHALLENGE IF they WOULD LIKE... the point is that HTs(even successful ones) do not free you psychologically from your hairloss they make you more aware of the natural progression of it and i know first hand the LESS SUCCESSFUL HTs put the patient in a state where he wants nothing more than to take back his decision and bald naturally, however my large ear to ear scar and my poorly placed and sparse grafted hairline remind me every day that the option to bald naturally is a LUXURY i can no longer choose... so even if your situation has improved for the time being due to your HT, hairloss is never far from the HTers mind. 7...'the online forums are but a SMALL % of the patients getting this procedure EVERY day. even by these top docs. and you WILL still find unhappy patients/poor outcomes arise. if your paying attention".... feel free to dispute this if you would like, if you ask me the writting is on the wall just as it is with everything else i said.. there is but ONE clinic out there that is EXTREMELY difficult to find mediocre results 8..you simply cannot sugar coat the possibilities and risks involved or you are doing a dis-service to the viewers who come here to learn what IS resulting from the decision to undergo this procedure, both the good and the bad...... well said LMS, well said BTW, labrat i enjoyed reading your post. i like it.. just not the part where you call into question the statments i made as if they do not apply.. they very much do. not just to megatron but alot of others who will find themselves where he is now...
  5. Bill is correct here... the numbers do not lie.. if you want this to be a 'one and done' situation you are likely fooling yourself.. HTs do not stop hairloss from progressing. meds may and often do loose effectivness after time... you really need to look at this decision BIG PICTURE.. the decison to get a HT if not any easy one. i assume your going strip method, which IMO improves your chances of getting good growth, of course that also depends on your dr, the size of your surgery along with other often unforseen factors..of course STRIP will leave a visible liner scar in back limiting your option to BUZZ down should things not go great with your HT.. some scars close and heal tighter tan others so just as with the procedure as a whole you will be taking a risk once your head has been cut and your strip removed. also just because the dr your choosing "posts here all the time" truthfully means JACK SQUAT as to whether of not you recive a good result..i truly hope for your sake, you choosing him had ZERO to do with this. HTs are life time commitments, often times resulting in the patient paying MORE attention to his future hairloss, and hair in general. not forgetting hair loss forever and being care free and happy for the rest of your days.. i believe it is still a very risky procedure and you MUST understand the posters who post results online are BUT A SMALL % of the patients getting HTs, and you will still find a portion that ends up dissatisfied... these are the facts my friend, some cant handle hearing them so they lable my words as 'negative'... but you simply cannot sugar coat the possibilities and risks involved or you are doing a dis service to the forum where people are supposed to come to LEARN facts. be sure before you do this, there are worse things than balding naturally. TRUST ME. especially if your wife, and family love you just the way you are... all the best.
  6. hey aaron.. it looks to me like the growth is just starting, which is of course to be expected... i really like the wet spiked up pic man, things are looking good and to me it looks like your already SLIGHTLY fuller than you were pre op.. i believe if you get the kind of growth that we all expect from SMG you just might come out the victor in this hair loss battle we are all in..... your front will hopefully be done for a good long time, if not for good after this... and if your lucky enough to pull 1.5 to 2 k later in life it seems you will be able to tackle the potential of further crown loss... bottom line is I WANT TIME TO FLY cause i already cant wait for your 5 and 6 month progress... as for your scar(s).. i think they both look good honestly... id kill for a scar situation like that... my scar is plain as day stretched and wide, jagged, bumpy and not a single hair growing thru.. thats at a 6 guard too... in your scar pic looking downward they are visible but not overly noticable at all IMO... i would think in everyday situations the typical person wouldnt think twice looking at you..... thanks for the updates man.. your an asset here plain and simple
  7. thanks for the reply aaron, id give one of my nuts to be able to pull of a 4 guard in back....
  8. and one other comment-- his pre op hair is wet, making his forlock look thinner that it really is and OBV the strength of his native hair when DRY is helpin out the right side alot... i mean look how much thicker AREAS WHERE GRAFTS WERENT EVEN PLACED look in the afters.
  9. its odd, that is just such a small number of grafts for the area covered... and when i look close at the GRAFT PLACEMENT pics it does NOT appear to be packed very dense... this leads me also to believe that the FLASH is adding a false look of density that would not be present in person... my hairline looks pretty damn thick too with flash.. but to see me in person tells a very different story.. just my opinion, overall even if is IS thinner in person for the # of grafts it should be considered a success... would love to see the video Dr.
  10. oh boy..... i should have worded this part a little better!
  11. ----- i guess the question i should have asked this whole time is 'whats that WHITE crap ive been stuffing down my throat this whole thing! anyway spex my pill does not even look like yours either its looong and blue.. imagine a thin long rectangle but with rounded edges(if that makes sense)... anyone else have proscar shaped like that?? i dont know much about Rx so i dont know if its common to have different variations of the same medication i guess.
  12. i have a perscription for 5MG proscar, perscribed BY A DR, which i cut into 4s.. i pick it up at wal-mart... my pills have ALWAYS been circular and white...i just got back with a refill and i open my bottle to see these LOOOONG oval shaped BLUE pills..... there BLUE!... what the hell... im pretty sure i can rely on a phamacy to NOT give me fakes but im curious. what color are your guys PROSCAR??? has anyone has a similar experience?? thanks
  13. hey Aaron, any chance your 4 month updates are on the way!! sorry if im pushy but im extremely interested in your case man... our loss is similar, our HT history is similar also... im dying to see what SMG does for you... plus your real, and have always given honest assessments.......... k, now that im done kissin your..... ... let me ask you a couple questions if i may..... 1.. how many grafts did you use up in your 1st, less than stellar, procedure?.. 2.. has dr S informed you about your laxity.. how is it after your latest strip? 3..how is your SMG scar overall at this point, would you say you are able to buzz to atleast a 4guard? 4.. did dr S comment on how approx how many grafts he believes you still have via strip method.... thanks man, im glad the first 3 months are done, im truly hoping the next 6 or so are great growing months for you
  14. you want to know something about body hair transplants huh??......ok 1..if you have any TRUE hairloss BHT will be of no help to you as well as producing an UNNATURAL look if attempted... your back hair will grow out of your head LIKE BACK HAIR.. and thats IF it even grows, as YIELD is something of a debate with BHT anyway 2... dr umar, who sparky mentions has ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED LIVES and disfigured men with his experemental BHT a few years back... he claimed that he could restore full NW7s with 15,000 BHT grafts from chest, beard, leg, etc, etc.... the patients he tried this on ALL were unsatisfied and disfigured... sure enough the threads were erased, and UMAR has sadly, successfully ERASED what he did to those men from the history books.. with help of course.. and now he has build his image back up with the help of taylor made youtube vids and a few agenda driven posters... its scary how easy DRS REPUTATIONS CAN BE MANIPULATED on these forums, but those of us who have been around long enough remember very well the BHT cases im speaking of.. BHT is simply not a viable option in ANYTHING other than beard hair scar repair or EXTREMELY minor filling in SMALL areas where plenty of HEAD hair is already present.. the 'good' dr UMAR showed us all what over use of BHT will cause if used to restore heads of hair... remeber there are GOOD reasons you dont see cases of any true resoration from BHT, it simply does not exist.. one must tred the TYPICAL HAIR TRANSPLANT water with great skepticisim, and caution... this goes atleast TRIPLE when your looking into body hair transplants... best of luck
  15. raphael its spelled "Genius"........ nice rebuttal tho... your real genious came to light:0
  16. Raphael84-- i believe very much the same of the majority of your above quote.. it seems as though we both believe that in a circumstance like TTPs the dr should feel a certain obligation to "assist" the unsatisfied patient, as you put it.... the main difference i suppose is that you "place no blame"... well that is just sweet of you, and extremely diplomatic. good for you.. and your education.. however, as you attempt to disect my posts and feel compelled to state that "i fail to assist anybody", while you very well may be right, please allow me to ask what benifit your above post has brought to the table. you have simply commended TTP on his handling of the situation(something myself, Bill, and NEAR EVERY SINGLE OTHER POSTER has made note of already)after your justifiable praise for TTP you simply 'wish him luck with whichever path' he ends up having to go down......... BRAVO!! RAPHAEL!..you have no doubt showed TTP the "light at the end of the tunnel" with your well educated insight. as a result you are more than qualified, apparently, to criticize other posters contibutions and methods.. your damn right i believe that the DR in this case FAILED his patient.. the question is what should be done from the drs end when situations like this occur.. and they DO occur, no matter how many of you wish to turn a blind eye.. TTP has accepted responsibility and the DR should be man enough to do the same.. that seems little to ask considering its the PATIENT who takes the risks. its the PATIENT who forks over thousands and thousands of dollars.. the patient does so ONLY under the impression that he will be better for it..... i GUARANTEE that TTP did not expect a result like the one he currenty has, and i GUARANTEE that the 'good' doc did NOT tell TTP he should expect a result like the one he currently has... AGAIN, I EXPRESS THAT ONLY ONE PERSON IN THIS DR/PATIENT RELATIONSHIP FORKED OVER THOUSANDS.. likewise only ONE person got benifit from this transaction... IMO it was the wrong side.. so be diplomatic and sit comfortably right on the fence my friend. thats your choice, afterall its not your head that the unfavorable result sits.
  17. thana-- why bring armani into it lets stay on topic here man all seriousness i agree and while i personally dont see how johns density is going to improve to something he or most would consider accepable in the coming 2-5 months i could be wrong. if so john will be the 1st on to show us all i believe. now thana, i wont bring up john again in this thread and we can move on.. im wanting atomic and freakin to chime im but if we bury my previous post yappin about dr feller how will they find it!!!
  18. there are very few ways unhappy patients gain any "benifit" after the fact..... 1.they get money back(highly unlikely and they are STILL left with an unnatural look) or 2 they get fixed for free or greatly discount pricing, but ACTUALLY get fixed this time around.. the 2nd option pretty much never happens(ask john malloy if dr feller is gonna fix him at no cost after leaving him with crap density).. and truthfully its very difficult for a patient to even WANT to get back in the chair with a dr who has already let him down once. the dr in this case, and with other cases just like this.. did NOT deliver.. he failed his patient. period.. even though alot of you posters and most all docs do there best to SPIN it when cases like TTP's pop up... so yeah 'freakin', your right TTP is not benifiting from this thread but i ask you, HOW WAS HE EVER GOING TO ANYWAY? enlighten me. the people than benifit from TTP's experience are ALL THE REST OF US... he shared his experience for our benifit... i hope his next decision whatever it is, ends with the satisfaction we all as patients deserve... its our heads at stake here, its our appearances at stake. not these drs...
  19. thanks Bill, care to name any of these things you feel may have some "marginal benefit"... im not looking for miracles believe me, im smarter than that... and i dont plan on dropping the fin OR minox... just looking to add something that MAY help... so marginal benefit works for me
  20. oh please, what a silly statment...i dont want to create a mob mentality trust me...but what i see is this forum becoming deviod of ANY true healthy skepticisim... in fact, if you ask me anytime ANYONE tries to bring any to the table the are shot down, while posters prefer to come to the defense of the DR simply because that dr has posted good results in the past..therefor even though THE PATIENT AT HAND got screwed we forgive and we DEF FORGET....fast.. really id just hate to see this place become more about the dr than about the PATIENTS AND THEIR TRUE STORIES.... I BELIEVE THE COLLECTIVE ONESIDEDNESS OF THE POSTERS HERE CREATE AN ENVORNMENT WHERE THOSE WHO WENT TO THE "TOP" CLINICS AND RECIEVED A LUKE WARM OR POOR RESULT DONT FEEL COMFORTABLE SHARING...dont believe me??? search.. pull up one of fellers unhappy patients hes had recently for example and see how he is met with both support AND hostility, then everyone decides the dr at hand is in the right, while the unhappy patient is s*** out of luck i guess. and we dont get to hear the details of IF/how it was even resolved for said patient COLLECTIVLY WE TREAT OUR UNHAPPY ARMANI PATIENTS DIFFERENTLY THAN WE DO OUR UNHAPPY FELLER PATIENTS FOR EXAMPLE..CRAZY HOW YOU ALL DONT SEEM TO SEE THIS now adays the shills, and the snake oil salesmen are EASILY pointed out ESPECIALLY on this site ill tell you who i think the "good" guys are Bill HONEST posters who come and share their honest experience GOOD OR BAD...it would be nice if BOTH experiences were met with the same amount of support by the posters here.. we only support our unhappy armani patients cause its ACCEPTABLE to cricize him right? we all have decided that right? like i said in my last post, dr Alexander did NOTHING except call all those who were hash with him "misinformed" then post a couple BLURRY best case sinerio pics, and BAM! presto! case closed, name cleared and reputation saved... still i wonder how dr A would feel had HE personally gotten a result like this from dr feller.... im not a leader looking to start a revolt Bill no matter what you say or what you think... but just like most areas in life you cant grow and you cant learn if you dont approach things ASKING QUESTIONS.... or you can just accept everything you hear as if it were truth... i would not recommend that approach in life as you WILL be manipulated. just as i feel so many are in the hairloss world and on this site are manipulated.
  21. um, yeah... the drs photos, KEEP IN MIND THEY ARE BEST CASE SCENARIO pics show to ME a result that the patient cant do much IF ANYTHING with. other than grown looong and combed to the side... by the way the camera resolution is BLURRY and does not do a good job showing just how sparse i bet it is, in real life. in fact if anything the not so clear pics will add a FALSE look of a thicker result.... honestly a dr throws out a few words claiming WE are simply "misinformed" then posts some blurry 'best case' after photos and you all retract your more than valid criticisms?? this is a coalition dr right?? right. i swear the bulk of you let these guys off the hook sooo easy it actually makes me sad... yet you all have no problem touting the coalition(as a whole) as the best of the best... do you all accept THIS result from the best of the best?? ive NOT ONCE seen such a weak result from H@W... so either H@W is just extremely good at keeping their poor result patients off the internet forums OR dr alexander is not on par with H@W... they both share the same "list" tho dont they. seriously, i wonder how dr ALEXANDER would HONESTLY feel if DR FELLER produced a thin result on HIM when dr alexander got his HT would he take it like a MAN, the same way that 'takingThePlunge' has done? id bet you all that if dr feller had produced something like this on dr alexanders head dr A would be disappointed as hell... what else need be discussed other than what dr A, the supposed best of the best, is gonna do to make his patient happy... and is he gonna do so without taking more of TTPs money?? i doubt it... that does not seem to be how these guys do things... even when they dont live up to the patients expectations. the very expectations that THEY, themselves set along side the patient PROIOR to the patient electing to put faith in them........ TTP is 10 months in... say whatever you want, but the bottom line is that IS PLENTY of time to evaluate a HT result... all the comments about drastic improvements at this stage are simply wishful thinking, wishful thinking is something to many of you posters have zero problem adopting when it comes to this HT field as a whole IMO. blah!... im reminded again of why i visit this place less and less these days its to much on me...
  22. thanks jo..but how do i know your not some newbie, steering me toward your own hidden agenda???.. just kidding buddy. with that being the case is there ANY... ANY shampoo that has been proven to help reduce SCALP DHT OR type2 5 ALPHA REDUCTASE? if not a shampoo, than any topical out there..... im afraid i already know the answer but if there is somethin out there that can buy my crown a little more time if/when the fin/minox success begins to decline been on fin/minox right now and for the past 3 to 4 years and im 25 now.. ive had good results with both..
  23. im looking for someone who knows what what they are talking about to comment on this.. below is a link to a ridiculously EXPENSIVE, IMO, shampoo.... please have a look at the ingredients and tell me straight up if you feel it can have any positive effect on hairloss... im simply looking for another shampoo to work in with my nizoral take note of the sites description of the benifits of the nettle root extract and its inhibition of TYPE2 5-ALPHA REDUCTASE and the saw pawmetto. are their claims drastically overstated or do they have SOME validity?? i KNOW the site is exaggerating what it can do. and if you read the site further their supposed before and after pics are ridiulous.. all that aside i simply want to know if you all feel(those who might ACTUALLY know) that a shampoo consisting of sawP and nettle root extract can be benifical to reducing DHT on the scalp..i assume its only thru systemic absorption that it may be effective..... thanks http://www.herbalhairshampoo.com/ingredients.html
