  1. Congrats Bill. you got it done exactly after one week i got mine done. So you were sitting in my seat. I cant believe its been a week for me and i dont even feel like i have HT done. I had no swelling, slight tightness for first few days and nothing really to complain about. My guess is 1800. Now send me the Amazon card. Will ya?
  2. Thanks Eman. When Dr. Cooley is around, i am or for that matter anyone should be very comfortable. i know he is the best out there and what ever he does will be the best for me. For this reason, i just want my 'babies' to be first washed by him or someone from his office. Even his entire staff is really professional and very cordial. I know Dr. Cooley provides a complementary scab removal after 7 days. This way i can also have him see how things are healing up for me. When it comes to Dr. Cooley, you can be rest assured that things are going to be all well. I saw your pics, wow, that a change in only 6 months!! You must be a very happy man. For the first 3-4 months i am not going to worry too much about my hair shedding or shock loss if there is any. I know after 4 months is the time to get excited. I cant believe i have it done and its already 5 days out. Cheers!
  3. Hi All: I had my HT done last Wednesday with Dr.Cooley, everything has gone on very well. I have no swelling or major discomfort. Just a little discomfort around donor area which goes away after i take tylenol. so far so good. But, i am very cautious about washing on the 7th or 8th day to remove scab myself. I am planning on going to Dr. Cooley's office this Friday to have them wash my head and remove the scabs. It will be the 9th day after my surgery. Do you all recommend getting your head washed and scabs removed from your Doctor? I am sure this will definitely make me feel real better. Thanks for your suggestions as always.

  5. EMan..you are the man!! Wow , what a transformation in only 6 months, i cant wait to see how you will look like at 12 months. You truly must be a very happy man. All the best and happy growing to you.
  6. Thanks Bill. I just called Dr.Cooley's office and they just told me the exact things that you have mentioned here. I will be washing my hair in next few hours. I have been spraying it every hour and taking valium at night really helps. I have little tightness in the donor area and with Tylenol every four hours i have no discomfort. I wish you all the best for your procedure next Wednesday. You will definitely be pampered.

  9. Thanks everyone for the encouraging words and advices. I returned home today after being 'coolified'. It was an amazing experience. I was bit anxious the night before and probably did not sleep as much as i wanted to, since i had to be up at 5:30 and be at Dr.Cooley's office at 7 am. I arrived little before 7 am and did my payment and the paperwork. Stephanie came up with a list of movies and the menus from different restaurants for lunch. By this time, i was feeling much better. Then she gave me valium and some other medicine. Honestly, i do not remember anything after that for next hours or so. So,i dont know when the strip was taken out and stitches were put in. The thing i was nervous about, did see or experience it.Yay! After that, Dr.Cooley started making incisions for next hour or so i think. Then, i was served a nice lunch. By this time, i was already being pampered. It was great experience talking to everyone in the room and watching some of the fun movies. Brandi and Dr.Cooley started planting grafts soon after lunch. It takes a lot of detail and patience and both worked really hard on it at them same time we three were involved in chit chatting too. It was all good fun. Amy also joined for sometime to plant grafts. Dr. Cooley and Brandi worked tirelessly til 7:30. All through this i was texting my wife about the developments. Dr. Cooley was nice enough to offer me the ride to the hotel, but since my wife also was with me. So, she came and picked me up right after the surgery. Special mention and thanks to Brandi, she is God send. She surely took very good care of me and was very meticulous in her work of planting grafts. I returned to the hotel room and had some light dinner. Took valium and pain medicine and all the while i had/have been spraying the spray every hour. Valium is awesome medicine. My wife tells me that i woke up and she sprayed the spray and i tied the surgical cap and went back to sleep. Believe me, i dont recall any of that. I have been taking tylenol every four hours. And it has been helping me. Will take valium and pain medicine again tonite. Dr.Cooley sugested about washing my head tonite, i will probably be doing it tomorrow in the morning. So, to all my mentors here. How soon should i wash my head? Thanks again for the words of encouragement. I cant believe how simple the procedure is. Now,the fun begins...Grow Baby Grow!! I will start making my weblog sometime this weekend after finishing taxes. One more thing that i noticed in Dr. Cooley's office is that, each and every person who works there, loves their work with passion and is extra nice to everyone in a genuine way.
  10. Thanks everyone for responding so fast! I know i have a very good surgeon and he is the best out there. After talking to his patients and the wonderful people who have been very forthcoming on this forum, it has definitely eased in my chosing Dr.Cooley. More than a great surgeon, he is a great human being and that is what i like in any person. Bill, i will be in the hot seat this Wednesday. Wow, and you will be sitting in the same seat a week from my D day. I am excited with my decision and a little nervous, since this is my first time. 'Please Grow Please', i loved that video. I am sure it will be a 'SUPER' day. Kaounis: Thank goodness! its not a heart transplant. Thanks to everyone on this forum. My journey has just begun and i will be keep you all posted on my journey to the hair i am seeking!

  13. Thank you both!! You guys really are a very helpful bunch. I had a consultation with Dr. Cooley last month, he and Ailene went over with me on all the details. I have heard really great things about Dr.Cooley and i have full confidence that he will do a great job on me as well. I will be attaching some pictures of me in my next post. My wife had been working for an orthopedic surgeon and had been removing skin grafts. Do you think she can be handful if i decide to go for normal sutures and have her take them off? I live in Atlanta and Dr.Cooley's office is 4 hours away from me. Thanks for suggesting a web log, which i should be doing to check my progress. And thanks again for replying so fast to my post.
  14. Hi Everyone: After lurking here from almost two years. i am writing my first post here. I have gotten so much information here. so thanks to everyone of you! I have few questions that i need to get cleared before i have my HT done. 1. After HT, how soon can you go out in public without feeling conscious about the scar and the redness? I will be taking two weeks off when i get my HT done. Will that be ok for me to go back to work after two weeks without having to wear a hat as we have a serious dress-code. 2. Which suture is advisable..dis-solvable or stitched? 3. If i am planning to getting about 3300 grafts done and want to pay in cash. How much should be my ball park estimate? Please reply to my post when you get chance and i truly appreciate any feedback! Thank You!
