  1. Day 6 pictures are here. The only difference I see is that the redness on the scalp has subsided. http://picasaweb.google.com/avin701/Day6?authkey=wiuVPDeB3LA Two more days and I will be able to shower normally !!.
  2. Hi Guys, Thank you all for the advise and support. This forum is simply amazing. I got my HT done on the 15th by Dr. Keene. 2100 grafts were placed in the frontal and temple regions. The whole experience was fantastic. I am now 4 days post-op and here are the pics. http://picasaweb.google.com/avin701/Day4?authkey=QyZ60OUYlqo I have been misting my graphs with the saline solution and I was wondering if thats the reason for the purplish color on my scalp. As far as medications go, Dr. Keene advised me to get on Propecia, she did not mention anything about Rogaine / minoxidil. This is the first time that I am taking finastride and I am very nervous. Also I would like to know your opinions on the work done on temples and my hair line. Thanks for dropping by !
  3. I had my HT on the 15th of May. I took 12 days off from work for my HT. Thanks to Memorial Weekend . At this point I dont know how my frontal area is gonna be but because I have long hair at the back, I can hide my scar. I will try to remember to drop you a line on the day I go to work if I come up with a strategy. Advise...If you have empty conference rooms in your office go there and work if you can so that you can take your hat off and minimize sweating. We are all in this together Bro...Best of luck with your planning ! I just got done with my blog. Below is the link http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=766
  4. Hey HairToday... I will follow your advise on taking my stures of at day 10....My native hair at the back is pretty long and the sutures are undetectable. I got the saline solution from Walgreens the ones they use for contact lenses and poured the solution in a spray bottle. I am misting my grafts every hour religiously...Apart from keeping the scalp moist it is also cleaning the blood left around the area. Though I made the decision to take Propecia, I am still nervous at the side affects...So in the two years you have used Propecia did you have any side affects initially or now ?..... My blog is up....let me know what you think.... http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=766
  5. Hey HairTodayGoneTmrw... I also got my HT done yesterday the 15th of May at Dr.Keene's. I had my shower this morning and heading over to the airport. I am from LA and she also offered me a 500$ discount. She placed around 2100 grafts on the frontal region ( I am Norwood 2A). I dont have any pain on the recepient area but some mild pain on the donor area. I have a suture removal date on the 22nd ...one week from surgery and I plan to do it in a walk-in clinic. Are you getting on propecia and minoxidil???...Dr. Keene did write me a prescription for propecia.......and I will start propecia from tomorrow and thr rogaine foam.... I will be kicking off my blog soon..
  6. hey guys...after hours of research in the forums and outside I finally decided to go with Dr. Keene. Apart from her excellent credentials and patient testimonies, it was also her fantastic work on hairlines which solidified my decision to get my HT done with her. I am scheduled for May 15th 2008 at her clinic in Tucson. I must admit I am feeling a little nervous, never had any sort of surgery in my life so far ..this is the first !!!...I hope everything goes by smoothly. If any of you had a HT done with Dr. Keene, I would really appreciate your inputs !! Thanks.

  8. Hi folks...I added one more addition to my list of potential docs. Here is the list below ...It would be great if someone can add the cost / graft for each doctor. <UL TYPE=SQUARE> H&W, Dr.Feller, Dr.Shapiro, Dr.Alexander (phoenix), Dr.Meshkin (SoCal) Dr.Keene
  9. hey guys I have been researching the docs on the website and also checked out their personal pages. H&W, Feller, Shapiro, Alexander (phoenix), Meshkin (SoCal) are the ones which caught my attention. I like Dr. Alexander's emphasis on natural hair line in the front that really interested me in his work because of my case ...Do any of you know what his rates are and how busy his clinic is ? I am looking to get this procedure done ASAP because I just heard from my Boss last nite that I might go on a international assignment in a couple of months. Appreciate your inputs.
  10. One day...and 5 amazing responses..I am in love with this forum !! dakota3 : I have checked the Consult a physician section and researching all the docs now. Thanks for you advise on looking at other states. hairthere: Thanks. I will definitely look up Alexander and others also thanks for the estimate that is the number I came up too. I am more interested in fixing my hair line on the front because the hair around the crown is not a concern for me now but I will chew on your suggestion a bit more Dewayne : Thanks...thats a interesting thing you did there @ stitches, something I might consider too if I decide to fly out for HT because of my busy work schedule Dr. Carman: Thanks for the detailed reply. Lot of good stuff in there. Appreciate all your replies guys. This week I will research the docs and planning to set up consultations in the SoCal area first. You all have a great week !
  11. Hi Guys, Firstly, thank you very much for putting up such a great website. In my research I haven't come across any website like yours which is loaded with so much information, it definitely helps someone like me who is new to HT. I appreciate your efforts a lot ! So, here is my story. I am a 25 year old Project Engineer from California. I was born with a very high hair line and on top of it the size of my head is considered to be big. I was never happy with my hair line and really had a tough time in high school and early twenties. The last four years were very tough on me. The pressures of graduate school and proving yourself on a job straight out of school really took a toll on me. It was during this time that my hair loss started accelerating. I can no longer use the excuse of "Its my hair line" anymore, it is now pretty apparent that my hair line has started receding and if I dont take care of it I will be having a runway on my head soon. I have seen and read a number of articles on the website. It looks like my case on the Norwood Scale is of Type 2. As far as finances are concerned thats not a problem for me, I can afford it. I am mostly looking at the surgeons around Southern California. I am attaching some of my pictures and I would really appreciate your advise on things like approx number of grafts, recommended surgeons, your view of my case etc. Thanks for reading my post. P.S: Here are some pics http://picasaweb.google.com/avin701/Pics?authkey=3X19OTWFz3c
