  1. T.C, Thanks for the interesting information. This is the type of information many people would like to hear (including myself) rather than getting bashed from a simple question. Although I do respect Spex opinion. My apologies if I have offended someone with the wrong choice of words. Having said that, I didn't meant to say "shave my head" (skin type) but rather than cut it short (like a buzz cut) as MusoInOz pointed out. Doesn't know ultra refined hair transplantation is the same as FUE. I am interested getting a consultation with ultra refined hair transplantation specialist Dr. Thomas Nakatsui.
  2. I have been thinking for awhile to get HT FUE roughly around 2500 graft on my hairline and top area. I was wondering if I decided to shave my head later on, would my donor area show any scars?
  3. All Minoxidil is the same. Different company bought the rights to put their names in front of the label. Yes, this is the same product as Rogain. It contained 5% Minoxidil. I am interested why would you want to order it online when you just can go to Costco and buy it from there. Save your self some hassle from getting rip off, shipping fee, etc.
  4. Hi, I have been following this forum for awhile and I still haven't seen alot of post for Dr. Nakatsui in Alberta, Canada. So far i see one or two that had transplant by Dr Nakatsui and the pictures look like they are back in the 80's. If you recently had your hair transplant by Dr. Nakatsui, please post your comments and pictures. I would like to gather as much as information before driving 400km to see him. Does anyone know if the price has changed recently especially with the economy?
  5. I am in Alberta, Canada. Pakitan is a long way but i will be looking into the standby stuff. first time I heard of it but never hurt to ask. I am sure with the economy right now, bargain the price is the way to go. "Ask to be put on standby, if somebody cancels, they will offer you their spot at a reduced rate."
  6. i still think its a good idea to compare last year price and this year especially with the recession. Please let me know who got it done by Thomas Chung Wai Nakatsui
  7. After reading all these comments about Dermmatch, i have decided to add my 2 cents. I have been using Dermmatch for two months now and its not what I expected. According to the product, you can swim or play sport with it. Well, guess what? Took a swim today and decided to test out the product. After few lap in the pool, the color disappeared from my head. Also I have tested the product playing basketball. When I started to sweat, I am getting few streaks running down my forehead. Pretty embrassing I would say. Not sure what I do wrong but I thought this product shouldn't do that. I am going to test courve and maybe nanogen after I used up all Dermmatch.
  8. I have been wanting to get hair transplant for awhile now but the only thing that is stopping me is the cost. With the recession, any chances these doctors will lower their price? Someone here must have some influences.
  9. Maxxy - I have ordered my first toppik two months ago and I love it. I use it mostly everyday to work or going out. I apply a small portion of toppik with some hair spay and you are good to go. Took me 2mins only. The only issue i have is if you sweat alot or if its your hari get wet then you are screwed. I am planning to try out Couvre. I heard good review about it and resists water. 10. Agio, I live in Calgary and i have been reading up on Dr Nakatsui. Can you update your blog with your recent picture? did you say 12k for 4212 Grafts? what does it mean by single, doubles and triples. Grafts:4312 Singles-1002. Doubles-2905. Triples-405.
  11. Fal & MrJB...Thanks for your responses. Without guys like you and this type of forum, we wouldn't be able to get gain the true knowledge of Hair loss and HT. I thank you. As for searching previous patient of Dr. Natatsui. I was not able to get any result or maybe i am not searching at the right place. Any way, I will continue my search and my journal toward freedom. Well different type of freedom (no more hat).
  12. Hello, 1. I have read some of the threads from Pat regarding Dr. Nakatsui. He spoke highly of him. I saw his website and look like his work is very good. Again, every doctor would post their best work/patient on their website. I was wondering if anyone from this forum was a patient of Dr. Nakatsui or know a patient of Dr. Nakatsui. If you can provide some feed back that would be appreciated. 2. I have a brief consultation from his clinic over email. I have sent my pictures to them and so far they think I should have 2000 grafts which will cost me $9000. I am thinking of going to the next step by driving 3hrs to see him. My second question is hair loss drugs (propecia, rogaine, etc). We all know it's not very cheap to be on those drugs and many people have their HT but still taking the drug(s). I several reasons to get HT, one of them is getting away from those drugs. If HT is the solution for the hair loss then why some of you stay and continue paying for those drugs? Some doctors claims your hair donor from the back of your head will/probably last your life time. So do you really need to stay on those drugs after your hair is fully grown from HT?
  13. So i got some information from both doctors and they both claimed that their method is one of the best in the world. Dr. Nakatsui gave me a rough price for $2-$6 per graft - He said i need to 2000 = around $9000 Dr. John Gillespie quoted me "Price is dependent on the number of grafts you receive and ranges between $4000 - $10,000". Let me know how much you guys pay for your and who is your doctor. My other location that i can go are bay area or san jose. My sister leave there so i can stay there for couple of weeks. Any suggestions?
  14. Do you have any pictures and who is your surgeon>
