  1. I had 1,240 grafts. It has been 3 weeks last fri and i went for my first haircut since the surgery. My hairdresser forgot and didn't even notice until i reminded her. She was amazed and noticed what i had not, that where i was concerned that it looked sparse and was afraid the grafts might not have been properly spaced, she noticed that those were just places where fallout had occured and i hadn't noticed. and, although it still feels like a burr:), a lot of the grafts have started growing out and i am excited. she remarked that she has several hair transplant clients and mine was very natural looking. you have to know that i am female and am incredibly sensitive about my hair. someday, i want a man to run his hands thru my hair and i will not jerk back -- i will just relax and enjoy it. i waited 12 years to do it and i am so glad i finally bit the bullet and you will be too once you get over the poka dot scalp phase:)
  2. Thank you for apologizing. I guess the kind of people who forge ahead and solve their balding problems are also the kind of people who stand up and take charge. lol Darnold, honey, we aren't fighting, just debating and defending. We are all in this for the same thing - normal hair just like the people you see running their hands thru their hair at the mall or at work and not worrying that if they do, they will be showing the world their scalp. I hope and pray that my hair comes in the way I want. And I hope that everything we write, good and bad on this forum helps someone else make an informed decision. And you are right about something Arfy, you MUST make sure you are getting the best care and expertise. I have always been lucky and I take chances I wouldn't recommend to others, but, I would also never recommend anyone on here who I did not feel did a good job for me. I am not recommending the Tulsa clinic as the perfect place, just noting that SO FAR, I am pleased with both my care and my results. Time will definitely tell, it has only been 3 weeks. NOTE: my hairdresser has several clients from Bosley and another clinic and she remarked that she thought my grafts looked wonderful and very natural already and she really thinks they should give me at least double the amount of hair I had before and wonderful results if all of the grafts come in. I will hope for the best.
  3. I am female and 41yo. I have level 2 of the female version of the Norwood scale. Forgive me, I do not recall the name of the scale used on women. I had 1,240 grafts - micro and mini. It is 3 weeks now and I am completely healed and it is growing. I had very little fallout. The Tulsa clinic charges $3 a graft and they compensate for travel expenses up to $600.
  4. I wrote about my experience there and got blasted by some jerk on here, but I had a great experience. I am 3 weeks away now and had very little fallout and they are growing. I am happy I did it.
  5. Well Arfy. Thank you for you kind comments about my ability to determine the results of my surgery on my own hair. I am a woman and I have male pattern baldness. NO, I am not physician, but I was not aware that everyone who posted to this forum had to hold a PhD. I wanted the person who asked about Dr. Frayser to know my opinion of my treatment at the clinic. Contrary to your belief, I did not arrive singing out "oh honey, do whatever the hell you want to my head". I discussed what I wanted and how I wanted my hair to look and what kind of results they thought they could give me. They were professional and worked for quite a long time to make sure the area I was concerned about was covered as thickly as possible - I had 1,240 grafts. You know Arfy dear, they work with what you have. I also intended to come back often to update the forum of my results, so didn't feel the need to wait a year to post. So, dont' worry dear, if it sucks, you will be informed. Although, everyone needs to be aware that you take a risk of failure every time you choose a surgeon - and the chance of success. I have had very little fallout and the grafts are growing and I hold out hope that long-term, I made a good decision. I checked out Dr. Frayser's credentials with the Oklahoma medical board and the clinic's past history through the BBB. And after many hours spent collecting data online. I decided to go with the Tulsa clinic. I would call you a sanctimonious ass, but I don't know you well enough, just as you dont' know me. I am neither ignorant nor stupid. Perhaps you should take a deep breath next time before you bust someone else's chops. 6. Honey, my friend told me i looked like a hooker who had been beated up and was in a police lineup 3 days after surgery. lol but within a week, swelling was gone and redness gone within a week and a half. I retained at least 95% of my grafts and they are growing, very little fallout at all. I am amazed and the clinic too. So, it does get better. Although, I took my meds too late after surgery and that nite was horrible, I got thru it. Good luck.
  7. I had a transplant of 1243 grafts done by Dr. Frayser at Hair Transplant Center in Tulsa and I sailed right thru it. Now that was a painfilled nite. Mostly my own fault. Didn't take pain meds until too late. No pain since that first nite. They were wonderful. Booked my hotel for me, picked me up at hotel, took me to clinic, took me after to pharmacy and then back to hotel. Have called to check on me since. My scabs healed close to the middle of the second week and had stitches out on 11th day. Transplanted hair is still there, but expect them to fallout anyday, but I just feel so good about myself now. Can't wait to see it fill in. I have to say that I looked around for a good while and chose them because of both price and Tom Campbell, spokesman for the Clinic. They were so kind to me during my surgery, before and after.

  9. I just had a transplant by Dr. Frayser in Tulsa and they were terrific to me. They booked my hotel room, Tom Campbell came to the hotel and picked me up and after surgery, drove me to the pharmacy and back to my hotel. I had some pain the same day hours afterwards when my pain meds wore off, but no pain since. It has been 2 weeks and so far have had no new hair fallout. Although it would grow back in regardless of fallout. Good luck.
