  1. I did some more research on this one. Finpecia is manufactured by Cipla, an Indian company. Their patent laws allow for the manufacturing of patent drugs as long as the process is different, if I interpreted the info. correctly. I found prices as low as 100 1mg. tabs for US 45.00. This, of course, raises a lot of questions. Do you really know what you are getting when purchasing meds from another country and over the web? How do their standards for manufacturing drugs compare to the U.S.? I hope we get some more feedback. Terry.
  2. morehairs, I looked at the website on Finpecia. Since Minoxidil is sold in it's generic form, this could be a real savings over buying Propecia, if it's legit. I'll wait and see if we can get more info. Terry.
  3. I saw the Dateline show and was pretty much unimpressed. I think the ht won hands down. JohnH, I believe the lasercomb retails for about $625.00, although you can probably pick one up on e-bay much cheaper. Terry.
  4. Steve, I have to agree with Arfy on his reply to you. There are many things to consider before commiting yourself to a procedure. One of the purposes of this forum is to make you aware of the many pitfalls in the ht industry. I know it sounds redundant, but you need to research and research some more before making a decision. Good luck. Terry.
  5. Steve, Dr's True and Dorin based in NYC. Recommended on this site. Also I believe Dr. Bernstein in NYC. Look on The Hair Restoration Network under "Find a Physician". Terry.
  6. NYCman, I think you got solid advice from the second doctor. Your experience underscores what happens in the ht industry. This should prove to you that research is your first line of defense. Given your age and current hair loss, you have plenty of time to make an informed decision. I would stay on this site and learn from other member's experiences before committing to a surgery. Terry.
  7. Smithy, I had never heard of Advecia until today. I looked at their website. Seems Advecia is an all herbal product designed to do what Propecia does. I would beware of it. I think Propecia is a better bet. Maybe we'll get some member feedback on this one. Terry.
  8. Kansas, listen to these replies. These guys are speaking from experience. Do your research! Terry.
  9. KROME, first of all, yes ht's do work and yes, there are bad ht's being done in the industry. If you navigate this site, you can educate yourself and then make an informed decision. Hair transplantation has come a long way in the last few years. Ht's producing natural results are performed everyday. But beware, not every ht surgeon or clinic is capable of this. Research this site and your every question will be answered. As to your second question, your hair will recede further depending on your age and genetic disposition to male pattern baldness. Look at the men on both sides of your family, and that should give you a rough idea of what to expect. I would also research Minoxidil and Propecia as these can stimulate some hair growth and can possibly let you keep what you have left. Again, it depends on the person. I hope this helps you. Terry.
  10. tkerr, andy: I checked out this website. I thought it to be very interesting. It sounds like there may be some substance to these products, but I'd like to see more feedback, if any, from members who have used them. Terry.
  11. Bill, this swelling may be perfectly normal, but I would get in touch with Dr. True, just to be on the safe side! Terry.
  12. Bill, looks like you picked a winner. I'll bet you're going to have great results. Terry.
  13. kg, your crown work looks great for 7 1/2 months. Regarding your decision to have another ht, I would consult with Dr. Keene and solicit her opinion. I'm sure she would be very up-front with you. Ultimately it's your decision, but it can only benefit you to get another opinion or two. Good luck. Terry.
  14. Hey Bill, good luck and Godspeed tomorrow! You are in my prayers. You'll be fine. Terry.
  15. leborv, welcome to the forums. I have heard of these Drs., but I can't offer an opinion of either of them. Perhaps some other members can. I would suggest that you broaden your research by checking out the Drs. on this site. I would also recommend that you read previous posts by other members under the heading of Hair Transplant Experiences and Surgeon Reviews. Terry.
