1. Man, this is incredible! Your donor density must have been out of scale! You said you're planning to have some more procedures. Do you think you have enough donor left for those? Besides, I personally don't think you need more procedures. I think the shaved look really looks good on you because hairloss is not immediately visible. Well, looking GREAT so far! Good luck, mate! Keep us posted!
2. That's an interesting point. Why is that the case? Any opinions? I experienced the same while on Proscar. I quit for about 2 month and I was losing so much hair that my hair loss became noticable to almost everyone in a matter of weeks. THAT was horrifying! Wish I had never started it. Anyways, I've been on Propecia/Proscar now for 5.5 years and it helped stopping/lessening my hair loss. But I'm quite concerned about side effects and I'm planning on consulting an urologist in the near future just to make sure everything's in order.
3. Thanks alot, very informative! Should have known that earlier! Damn! If I imagine how I'd be looking right now without having stopped...
4. Bob C, sorry, but I think YOU should show a little respect for other poster's opinions. Why don't you let him explain why he thinks that Shapiro's (if he's talking about him at all) conservative instead of attacking him for no reason at all?
5.
quote:
Re: minox it only confirms what all studies show: once you start it, don't ever stop. The exact reason why I never started it. hairworthy, could you please point me to some of those studies? That'd be really interesting to read, because I experienced the same thing as gunner: I stopped minox for about 2 month and hell broke loose!! I wish I'd had your insight and had never even begun... well, too late... now it's for life...
6.
quote:
Also, DO NOT shave your head. My hairloss wasnt so muych a shedding process as it was a not-growing-back-in-after-shaving-my-head process. I was losing hair in the crown and hairline, sure, but after shaving (by this I mean to the skin) my head, the amount that never showed back up that was there in the first place was horrifying. socialdrinker, just out of curiousity... why would shaving your head prevent hairs from growing back?
7. thanks socialdrinker, that really helped to clear alot of questions... but one thing's still bothering me: can you run your fingers through your hair without rubbing it all off? As I said I buzzed my hair to 3mm and alot of people, especially girls , seem to fancy short hair 'cause they just won't stop running their hands all over my head...
8. thanks! I was just curious because I'm thinking about giving toppik a try, and I really'd like to see photos with toppik applied. Well, but I've got really short hair... buzzed to 3mm because I just couldn't stand the look of my hair anymore. And now I'm not sure if it even stays on with such short hair. I have got some fine hair left in my temples so I could be lucky...
9. HairBeThere, sorry, but where've you posted your pics? Can't find 'em...
10. Hmm... yeah... true! I've just been relying on his accounts in the FAQ section. But you're right, 7000+ grafts implanted just in the front half of your head should give you decent results by itself
11. Thanks for the link, socialdrinker... very interesting... guess I have to be more careful. Well, he's not a friend of mine. I think he was on this forum some time ago and perhaps still is and I just looked up his really impressive pictures on his website. He says that he's travelling alot and buying his stuff in India (at least the Proscar generic) and by judging his pics it's really helping him... at least to maintain his hair. Well, that's my guess and I might be wrong about that... Just take a look at the FAQ section of his website: http://www.whoops.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/index.htm p.s.: seems this guy doesn't use Fincar but something called Finast. Haven't heard about that before, but it's apparently from India as well...
12. Ok, I haven't read any of these articles about Fincar and didn't know about these claims of metals and arsenic being in there or other generics. If that's really true then you're right of course. I just read on Whoops's webpage that he's been on Fincar for a while now and that it seems to be helping after all. So I thought if it's helping him than I could as well give it a try. But after what you've said I'm probably gonna do some research on that as well You don't happen to have links to these articles?
13. MDM, why don't trust India? Fincar's the same as proscar. 5g finasteride as the active ingredient. Indian law makes it possible to actually copy Proscar if it's manufactured differently. Well, personally I don't see a danger to this. And btw you get a year's supply for the cost of 3 month on proscar.
quote:
putting your health into the hands of some foriegn pharmacy. What makes you think that "some foreign pharmacy" is not capable of producing clean & effective medicine?
14. I've been on proscar for 5 years and it really helped me maintaing my hair or at least slow the loss considerably down. But around March/April I decided to quit because I was getting worried about side effects. In the beginning I cut it back to every other day and after a while stopped taking it. Results were disastrous!!!! I lost so much hair in these 2 month that I'm considering a hair transplant now. Before that my loss was quite bearable. I got immediately back on and since then my loss steadied again. So, do NOT stop taking proscar/propecia! You will lose your hair in about no time! Believe me! cheers, M-J
