  1. Solid, I'd be careful of any activity that causes tension in your donor region. If you can do deadlifts and squats with no "tugging" feeling in your donor area then you should be fine. I found that sprinting, jumping, and bench pressing where I strained with my head pressed into the bench causes alot more donor tension than real heavy deadlifts & squats. Just be careful or any activity that puts noticeable tension on your scar.
  2. Seager does good work. Check ...oh I forgot, no links... But he is good. I think the average person can get about 7500 grafts in total using strip.
  3. Looks awesome for only 3 months! Hell... looks awesome if it was 6 months.
  4. You will be able to tell if you're ready to get back into lifting. If you do an exercise that really tenses your scar area, stop and give it some more time off. Eventually you will be able to lift and won't notice any tension in the donor area.
  5. I should add that I had a strip and had to refrain from exercise due to scar stretching possibilities. If you get FUE then I think you only have to lay back for a week or two.
  6. I was advised to wait 1 month before I could even jog. It wasn't until 3 months that I could lift weights & wrestle while feeling little or no tension in the donor area. So I'd say plan for 1-3 months off from normal exercise.
  7. I had a lot of shedding from around week 8-13 (maybe 60 hairs lost while showering & combing and lots of hairs on pillow). After that the shedding stopped and all was back to normal (maybe 10-20 hairs lost during showering and combing). Another note, I started back on Rogaine5% on day 2 after surgery. Your shedding may have something to do with the 6 week Rogaine layoff too.
  8. I never noticed any side effects on either except MSM giving me some stomach aches. I now use the lignisul version of MSM.
  9. Moises, please be aware that there are versions of minoxidil 5% (certain types of xandrox) that have different ingredients that may not irritate your head. check minoxidil.com You could also look into folligen or tricomin to deal with itch issues.
  10. Regarding the non-irritating Minox, try minoxidil.com They have some different formulations of Minox...I'm not sure which is the "non-irritating" one though
  11. Be ready with Nizoral AD shampoo if the Rogaine causes any itch. You can use the shampoo 2 or 3 times per week. It has been shown to have some benefit to hair growth and it's also a good 'anti-inflammitory' shampoo.
  12. I'd use Rogaine 5% also. I use Kirkland Minox 5% which is alot cheaper (about $8/month). Some people will disagree and say that Rogaine made them shed or makes their scalp itchy. Both of these circumstances are possible but it works great for me. Also, Rogaine is a treatment that you should stay on indefinitely. There are studies that show that if you use Rogaine for a long time and then stop the treatment, you will rapidly lose all the hair you gained with it (often a significant amount) and sometimes more. If this site allowed links to outside information I would provide specific studies. Message me if you need more information. Random info. There are several studies that show that Rogaine 5% grows significantly more hair than Propecia (though Minox technically does nothing to "stop" the progression of hair loss). The 5 year propecia study shows a 277 hair difference (in a 1 inch diameter circle) between the propecia group and the placebo group after 5 years. That seems unbelievable but that's what the study says.
  13. I wouldn't worry about those propecia horror stories. Getting a transplant then not using propecia is rediculous IMO.
  14. Propecia- regrows some hair and prevents or slows future hair loss. Propecia is about $40-$50/month as you know. You can also get Proscar for the same price but divide up each Proscar tab. Proscar is a 5mg version of propecia. Rogaine- promotes hair growth ("an additional offset of growth") but really doesn't prevent future hair loss like Propecia does. Generic Rogaine is about $7-$8 /month. The real stuff is about $25-$30 /month Rogaine does help a HT grow faster. I recommend both. But if nothing else, you should at least stay on propecia. I think some people exaggerate the side effects. Consider a side effect of NOT taking it...you will lose more hair!
  15. Here's another study http://www.geocities.com/bryan50001/fin-minox.htm
  16. I strongly disagree but do what you will. I use Kirkland Minoxidil 5% from minoxidilshop. It's about $30 for 4 bottles. That's $7.50 per month. If you're worried about itching, I'd add Nizoral shampoo every 3 days or even Folligen 1/2ml once per day. Here's that minox link I forgot to post. Just trying to help http://www.geocities.com/bryan50001/quitting-minox.htm
  17. I have also read that Procerin is a sham. Check out hairlosstalk -> discussion forum -> may articles
  18. I'd keep using it for 4 months. Take a photo now and then. If you don't see any benefit then, you can quit.
  19. The only thing I would recommend (other than using the shower stream) is maybe using a different shampoo (Baby shampoo). Maybe some of the buildup is caused by the Pert. I used Johnson's baby shampoo for 4 weeks post-op and had no irritation in the recipient area.
  20. Sweet lord...I would strongly recommend that you stay on rogaine. If you don't, hair loss will probably increase. I can show you a "stopping minox "study but I don't have the link now since I'm at work now. I'll try to post it tonight.
  21. I use Kirkland Minox 5% twice a day. The flaking is probably mostly dry minox. 2% then 5% at night is ok but it would be best if you could get used to 5% twice a day.
  22. I was told to avoid exposing the recipien area to the sun 6 months after my hair transplant. I'm going to the beach this summer and don't want to wear a hat *ALL* the time. Is it ok if I just use some high-spf spray sunscreen on the recipient area and have my head uncovered at times?

  24. dtrojanz, did you use topical or internal MSM?
  25. dtrojanz, I did strip. 2600 FUE would've put me in the poor house. Your 16 week results are a dramatic change from even weeks 8-12.
