  1. I agree with cost and quality is great. But, would you agree that Ron Shapiro and Konior are on par with Docs from Turkey/Europe?
  2. Spanker, Thank your for the reply. I also personally think 2500 conservatively in the frontal third and leaving the crown alone is the best course of action. Im concerned because I can start to see the outline in the crown and the horseshoe. I'd like to think that it will hold up and I'm really not concerned as much with the crown as I am framing my face. If it helps.... My dad, who is the oldest of three, would be a perfect candidate for an HT. He has thick hair everywhere except the frontal third. His younger brothers are full blown nw 5/6. I have my mom's hair texture but my loss seems to be fairly slow, yet steady. My moms brothers are nw 5/6 but her dad had a good head of hair(nw 2/3) when he passed in his early 50's. Thanks again.
  3. Hi Everybody, Im a very longtime lurker looking to get FUE in the near future. I'm looking for advice as to how good of a candidate I am and possibly some Dr suggestions. My biggest question is how good of a candidate am I? I think I have good characteristics, but no propecia. I think I could just do the frontal third/half but have thinning through nw 4/5 area. My sides seem pretty strong and I have good temple points and am looking to go conservative for sure. I always felt strongly about Dr Ron Shapiro because he has such soft hairlines and you look back to normal a week later. But I'm thinking I might need a fairly large procedure but maybe I should just do the frontal third? I've been very impressed recently by Konior, Erdogan, and of course the Maral clinic. I'm thinking it would be nice to stay in the U.S. but I won't let money/travel interfere with the best result for my case. My stats: - 31 yrs old, slowly losing since 19ish - Dirty blond, light brown slightly curly, coarse hair - Can't take Propecia due to strong reaction to sides, do take Minox w additives in it I've loaded some pics with harsh lighting and some with soft lighting. Please let me know if more info or better pics would be helpful. Thanks in advance!
  4. That looks like a lot of area covered for 1176 grafts. What is the density? Im headed towards that kind of pattern and would want my placement/density to be similar to this patient. I have light brown, wavy, and slightly coarse hair that I think, along with my fairly tan skin, offers great coverage. Im looking forward to more updates..
  5. For once I feel proud of a thread Ive started. Im incredibly pleased with all the great insights and opinions and I hope others benefit from this thread. I'm really getting thin in the frontal third and would love to get a conservative yet large fue procedure with Dr Shapiro. I have good hair characteristics but wont ever use fin again. Best case: The beautiful, conservative hairline by dr ron shapiro looks amazing. My hair characteristics and caesar-like hair style compensate for not using fin. Like my father, my loss is pretty much all in the front third. Worst Case: The thinning in the nw4 area increases and the frontal third is bald except for my transplanted hair. The thick hair in the front is thicker and looks unnatural. Its obvious I had an HT and life sucks. Whats more likely?? I'd love to buy 10 years of decent hair with an ht, but I want to look natural if the worst case happens. would pics help???

  7. Everybody wants fue, myself included, because of the option of shaving your head in the future with no linear scar. I for one have seen a fair amount of ht scars with guys with longer hair and think they're much more obvious than people on here want to admit. My question is how would it look with a fue in the frontal third when thats pretty much all the hair you have there? Is it going to look natural if you buzz it down with the healthy, transplanted hair in the front and a nw 4-5. My hope for me and the rest of us is that we could just do another fue for a full, yet less dense look, that still hopefully looks natural.
  8. Would taking hair from the nape area leave fue's trademark "white dot" scarring? How does umar get around this? Im sure you wouldnt want any scarring on the neck where these hairs are being taken from.
  9. looks like it will turn out well. Pleases keep posting w updates. Im very interested in Dr umar and his techniques and may possibly get a procedure w him in the future.
  10. Anybody know if there are docs on the west coast doing PRP? preferably SoCal or AZ
  11. Dr. Feller or Spex, Is Dr. Alexander one of the surgeons that will be learning this new procedure? If I recall he had received training from you in the past and he practices right up the road from me.
  12. are you using anything for the redness? Theres gotta be something out there... it seems like Dr Lindseys patients all seem to have no redness a week after dure to whatever theyre are given to combat redness
  13. I like shaving my head anywhere from 3/8 to 3/4 inch and am looking to get ht with dr umar in the future. Does anyone have an opinion on how a short cut compares to a longer one w regard to looking more or less natural? I think the angle of the grafts plays such a huge part that it is even more important w a shorter cut
