  1. Again I must disagree. The nape hairs are so fine you can't see them in pictures and video. They simply create an optical illusion so to speak. I think many people who haven't seen them in person on the hairline have a misconception about what they really look like. They simply soften the hairline and you really can't tell as much in photos as you can in person.
  2. I read your description a little more closely. You said you think most all of your hairs have grown in. From my experience, I would say that that is not true. I think you may be pleasantly surprised how much it may thicken in the next handful of months. I also assume you are on Rogaine and Propecia now religiously. If so, and I believe you were not on them before, that throws two more variables into the mix that you truely cannot judge until later down the line.
  3. As a former patient of Dr. Umar who drilled him with more questions than you'll ever find on this forum, let me clarify something here. Umar's post ops look "messy" because he doesn't clean them. Every docs procedures look just like this. But most other docs clean the blood off (or most of it) after surgery. Dr. Umar doesn't because he feels that cleaning the surface only increases risks to the new transplanted hairs. Now we can discuss the relative possibilities of that, but lets be clear, the surgery isn't anymore "sloppy" than other surgeons, its just left "as is". Second, and I know I have touched on this on other threads, but I absolutely cannot see the cons of using nape hair. If nape hair did fall out, it would simply leave the non-nape hair. Then the hairline would look like a hairline without nape hair. Which is what some posters are saying is preferrable in the first place. IMO, its worth taking the risk that when I'm 70, I'll have a hairline with no nape hair (the same as I would have gotten with any other surgeon) and enjoy the soft hairline the nape hair provides till then.
  4. TC17, keep an eye out for an upcoming video of a patient with 2600 grafts at the 8 month mark. That video is of me. Look at that video when it comes out and you tell me if there is one thing you can nitpick about my hairline. IMO, its masterful. In fact I told about 10 people I had surgery and they can't tell a thing. My hairstylist has been blown away and everyone who never knew, never knew. I think his use of nape hair makes the hairline extremely natural. And if somehow I lose my nape hair when I'm 70 (most men don't) then my hairline will then look only as good as most other doctors' normal hairlines.
  5. I'm at 10 months post Umar with 2600 in the same general area as you. You look similar to me at the 6 month mark. Next 4 months should see solid improvement. I went from "this is going well" to "this was a massive success". You should see more growth, thickening and a softening of the hairline as the nape hairs continue to grow in. It looks like you got pretty good coverage for 1900. I didn't need side temple work and we took the hairline lower than yours and I had maybe a little more recession on the temples, but its been pretty awesome the results. Best of luck to you on your continued growth.
  6. Everyone who has been to Dr. Umar on this forum, including myself loves him. The only people on here that don't love him are the ones that don't trust his body hair transplants, especially the megasessions. But those of us who have had head hair only transplants love him - if you have and don't please speak up - and I highly recommend him. I had tremendous results and after 10 months can now fully recommend him. He is, in my opinion, one of the best in the world. And, if you can afford him - and you shouldn't decide on price whoever you choose - you are fortunate that he is in your back yard.
  7. At risk of speaking for others, I will say that I believe most if not all of us individuals who have had procedures with Umar know that the thread referenced above and the debate contained in it are outdated. I have personally met with Dr. Umar many times and have had him personally answer every question and/or doubt that was brought up in that thread as I referenced those questions to him again in person. In fact, the founder of this site who met with and viewed Umars procedure live walked out of his office suggesting that Umar be recommended, which started that entire thread. Umar doesn't come on this site anymore. I can tell you its is less personal and much more about the fact that he runs a small boutique operation and doesn't feel it necessary or worth his energy to Q&A on forums. I don't blame him if you actually read that thread. I have never personally recommended Umar to any poster, as I feel everyones situation is different, so I have no agenda. He may or may not be right for the OP. However, that thread is what it is: outdated. And so too, in my opinion is the fact that he is not recommended in this forum. IMO, that thread is full of not-so-hidden agendas and marks a low point of discussion on this forum (a forum that I DO recommend). Umar's skill is world class, imo. And he is definitely worth a visit to compare to other doctors, especially if you live in LA.
  8. I had surgery with Dr. Umar in Redondo Beach and have had very good results. Of course, knowing nothing about your hair transplant needs or desires, I don't know if he would be a good doctor for you. But, I would recommend you research him more fully.
  9. A few points. First, my post was directed the OP who is the topic of this thread. If you had a great result with Bauman, then congratulations. If you are happy, that is ALL that matters. People get emotional on this forum because most of us have had or are considering a HT and realize that the stakes are very high - for the same personal reasons you mentioned and others. We care - that is why we are even on a forum like this. And it just so happens that Bauman has butchered several people and that he is hands down the most expensive doctor many of us have ever heard of. This has nothing to do with you. It has everything to do with Bauman and what his results and prices have made people feel. Its easy to want to stand up for our docs. But Bauman's work overall, in my opinion, is horrible and his prices are a literal JOKE. Moreover, it is common place for doctors to have shills come to forums to defend them. So, if you want to stand up for Bauman's work, that's fine. Nothing wrong with that. If you're happy and compelled, you should stand up for him. But the only way to effectively do it is to post you pictures in a blog on this site and keep them updated. Participate with the forum, give people useful commments and share your documented experiences. In that case, you are more than welcomed here.
  10. Gabriel, I hope your not a real patient, because if you are, this is very hard to read. Your justification of the 35k is EXACTLY what allows Bauman to charge a RIDICULOUS rate. There are doctors who do FUE and have an impecable reputation that charge about 1/2 of what Bauman charged you. 1/2. For. World. Class. Results. If you really studied like you said, you would have known this. Its not hard to learn. Why are you trying to convince us of Bauman's value? We don't care. We only care about results. That's all we care about. I had 2600 FUE done 6 months ago for half the price you paid. And my results are phenomenal. But I'm not even mentioning the Dr.s name, because I told the doc I didn't want the pics shown and so I don't show them on here either (entertainment career privacy). Post some pics if you want to hype the doctor. And then keep posting. If after 6 months you have a decent result, I will give you props for being the FIRST bauman patient I have EVER seen on a forum with good results.
  11. Well, more specifically, I shower, towel dry. Add foam. Comb back. Brush teeth, shave, get ready for another 5 mintues. Then blow dry. So thats about 5-7 minutes to dry in. Long enough?
  12. I am using Rogaine foam in the frontal third right after I get out of the shower. Then I'm blow drying on a low setting to dry and style my hair. Is this a problem? I don't want to hinder the effectiveness of the foam, but I don't want to wait for my hair to air dry, wet it again and then style it with a blowdryer. I also dont want to dry it. Then add the foam and then wait for it to dry again.
  13. I just ordered some Dirt and tried it last night. Excuse my French but its pretty f***ing awesome!
  14. Question. Do you wash your hair everyday? Because if you don't, what is your routine on days you don't wash it? Cheers
  15. This is an interesting thread. I have wondered about late life hairloss (75+). I noticed in my grandfather who had a lot of hair at 75 (probably NW2), now at 97 he has severe diffuse thinning all over. Not many 95+ guys with a lot of hair. Now I know its called senile alopecia. That makes sense, I suppose.
  16. Unless the "medical supplies" include a free car and full coverage medical insurance for the next 20 years, this is a bit ridiculous. But, actually, I bet they get more VIP customers than you would think. Especially with their office in Dubai. There are a lot of people who prefer to pay extremely high rates for things just because it makes them feel good and they can afford it. But the "one procedure a day" thing is absolutely hysterical.
  17. First of all, Hair_Care I want to apologize to you because you started this thread probably in part looking for encouragement and I probably sounded like just the opposite. You might very well have late growth. And if not, then you can always get another procedure from another doctor and get the thickness you want. So there are options for you and so even worse case scenario you can eventually get the look you are going for. Fortunately, you are actively on these boards and you are or will become educated on all your options. So, if you have any further questions down the road make sure you ask. Cheers.
  18. This is exactly what I am talking about. You are a Feller patient and so you are defending him. Listen. Armani has some patients with great results. Great. But yet his is vilified on these boards. Others too. If this was an Armani result, this thread would be 11 pages long and there would be an uproar. If Pats had said "maybe there are places on his head where grafts don't grow" people would go ballistic. The bias on this board gets old. Every doctor has some poor results. Thats just a fact. They should man up and admit it when they do. But, in actuality, they make excuses. I hope Hair_care has a miraculous turn around. But if he doesn't lets call a spade a spade, ok?
  19. Propecia shouldnt make you tired. If you are tired it might be you're worrying and psychosomatic. Regarding ED, that could be stress related too. I mean if you are already getting blood tests done after two weeks, then you must be really worrying about this. As for your miniaturizing donor hair, well how old are you? Because this probably wouldnt happen until your 60s or 70s if at all. So if you are 40 now, we are talking 30 to 40 years. I am not so sure propecia will work for 30 or 40 years. Most people are lucky to see it work 10-15 years. So I think you're worrying is, in the words of Shakespeare, "much to do about nothing".
  20. Ok. I agree with 85% of your entire post. But lets be fair here. I have to agree with "Where'd It Go" when he says that this could be a poor job by the doctor/staff. To say that "there might be areas on your scalp that do not allow for good growth" and not say "we might have done a poor job on you" is disingenuous, imo. When I see apologists for certain doctors who are more than willing to jump to conclusions and rip other doctors, its not cool. We should treat all alike on this board. At 7 1/2 months, this is not a desirous result. It might improve. Hopefully it does. But if it doesn't, Feller/staff should be held to the same standard as other, less popular doctors on this forum.
  21. I'm confused here. Why is his validity as an Armani patient in question? I and others in the this thread have already said that we've seem these same pictures on a different forum regular size. Is Eurohair being asked to show some documentation that others aren't?
  22. Ok. Fair enough. But I'm pretty sure his pics are on Hair Site with in normal size. I still don't know why Armani patients just dont create blogs on the site like everyone else.
  23. Hey Bill, Did you get the results from your 4th HT that you were hoping for?
  24. Yes you can. He obviously has some hair there. But why does it seem so many Armani patients can't seem to make a blog and just post jpeg after jpeg, one by one post after post? Just make a blog on the site and post your pics. Makes it easier for you and everyone else.
