The transplanted hairs are not actually growing in the weeks following surgery. They have shed from the follicle and are being pushed out, so they appear to be getting longer. Hair will shed at different times. Dr Lorenzo explained this to me.

I think you need to be on Finasteride in case you have DUPA, which also affects the donor area. Also, oral minoxidil may help as it shortens the telogen phase of the hair cycle.

Hi Mister_25, I actually think that you have got significant improvement. Dealing with a hair transplant is an emotional roller coaster at any age, so I can't imagine what it's like at 22. Give it the full 12 months. Dr Hasson is one of the World's best surgeons. H&W are a reputable clinic and will always stand by their work. Also, you were an evolving NW5, so 3800 grafts isn't going to give you total coverage. You will need a second procedure. It may also be worth considering switching from finasteride to dutasteride, as you have an aggressive type of hair loss at a young age. Good luck!

Hi All, Apologies that I have not updated sooner! Been very busy with work and family etc. I have just passed the 12 month mark and I am pleased to say that I am very happy with my results. My new hairline frames my face perfectly and I really like the temple points. I am able to style my hair in ways that I have been unable to style it for years! People have commented that my hair looks nice and that is always a confidence booster! However, hair greed is real lol. I would like a bit more density and will be heading back to Madrid soon to put the finishing touches on this! Please see my 12 month photo's below. PS - I forgot to add that I added in 1 dose of Avodart per week a few months ago, in addition to 6 doses of Propecia per week. I discussed this with Dr Lorenzo, too. It was mainly for my own piece of mind, as I have been on Propecia for 15 years and worry about continued hair loss.

Post op looks fine. Hopefully it all grows in for you.

Do you have any immediate post-op pics? And 1 week post op pics, please? Just want to see if there were any signs of a haematoma etc in that area.

4 month update. Happy with how things are progressing. I'm going to Madrid in a few weeks for my 5 month check-up with Dr Lorenzo.

Personally, I was advised not to cut my hair for at least 4 weeks before, so that they could see the hair quality and coverage. It's possible that your hair may look a bit better when it is longer. However, it's best to speak to your surgeon about your concerns on the day and which areas you want him to pay particular attention to.
