Have you found your hair growth is much better with oral rather than topical?

Did ask about it but he said it’s not available in turkey so I’d have to sort it out when I get home. Is it something you’ve tried? I’ve seen it’s way more effective but a bit scared about the side effects (heart rate stuff) and much higher dosage.

yes they said that will be in the surgical Report which they send out a few weeks after surgery.

Hi all Currently 2 days post op. Second hair transplant with FueCapilar, went with Dr Turan this time as opposed to Dr Gur first time round. No big reason - I wanted the hairline sorted this time and I’ve liked his work a bit better than Dr Gurs. Anyway, I’ve attached pre and post op pics below. In total went for 2970 grafts - don’t have the post surgery report yet so can’t remember the exact numbers, but hairline was all singles (I think around 1300 were for the hairline), majority of the rest of the grafts extracted were triples and those were mostly in the crown with a few in the mid scalp area (1400 crown and remaining mid scalp). Questions: 1. Does it look like 2970 grafts in total? The hairline is really nicely done imo and should have very nice density. Also got to rebuild the temples which I’m super happy about but a bit more concerned about the crown area, don’t think theres been enough placed to cover it in total. 2. The doctor said a reason for not placing as many in the crown was I’ve been on Fin only a year so more of the crown hairs should stop miniaturising and come back over the next few months and the grafts he’s added in should add density. Does this sound right? 3. In their assessment they reckoned I had 15,000 grafts possible in the donor area. Assuming the hairline comes out fine and crown improves but isn’t completely amazing, how many more of those can I risk before it becomes too depleted? Anyway I’m only 2 days post op so not too worried for now, will post updates over the next few months.

To be honest the doctor I went to see comes highly recommended on here and elsewhere online. Won't be saying his name as had a conversation with him earlier after the negative feedback I received here and he managed to placate most of my fears and the concerns people raised here. I also cant really do anything about it for at least another 6-9 months in terms of getting another procedure so the only thing to do really is wait it out, stick to fin/min and see how it turns out. If it does turn out as bad as people think it will then its a different story but for now I'm just waiting and seeing really.

the clinic has another doctor. Obviously im hoping it all works out fine but i could maybe go to the other doctor if it isnt good enough

Hmmm so I dont have the post op report yet, will post the numbers when I get them but I seem to remember it was getting pretty close to 40 hairs per square cm which I think was pretty good. Will update when I have the actual report though.

Yh so basically the bottom white line is where my original hairline is. The doctor asked if I'm happy to see if fin/min and micro needling will strengthen this area within the next 9-12 months. Idea being if it does get stronger he can then reinforce it with a few graphs rather then the extra 1000 he estimated hed need to cover that area, therefore taking that away from the mid and crown area. So if it does get strengthened over the next few months - great, just straighten out where needed and I'm sorted, if not I guess we'll deal with it as it comes. It seemed to make sense to me at the time but I posted it elsewhere this morning and people were really adamant it was a bad idea, ofc none of them are doctors so yh.

Do you mean the bits in the mid scalp? The mid scalp was the only part of my upper head that still had decent amounts of hair in it tbh so I can see why they'd do it there. Thanks will do so.

So I had my procedure yesterday. To give some context I am a Norwood 5/5A, started microneedling and fin a couple months ago. I had some growth on the hairline but it was very thin and whispy hair - the dermatologist I was seeing said it would grow into thicker hair over time.. When I talked to most clinics they recommended two procedures - one for the hairline/mid scalp/outer crown and then one for the inner crown a year later. The plan was Fin and Min would recover a fair bit of hair in the inner crown so less grafts would be needed and it would give time for the donor area to recover. The original plan was for the Doctor to go to the bottom of this new hairline which is at the white line in the photo - you can see the little white circles are the hairs already growing back. However he decided instead to go a bit higher with a zigzag pattern. This is as he thinks the implanted hair will blend into the existing hair (white circles) and thus make it look much more natural. If that doesn't work out - if the hair in the white circles doesn't grow out properly - then he would do the hairline properly during the second procedure. Tbh I agreed with it at the time as it made sense but looking for second opinions now - what do you guys think of such a strategy? Makes sense or too conservative?

You cant wear a hat for a couple weeks after no? I have dermmatch and will test it to see how it works, hopefully helps. Also have the thickening spray so will try and combine and see what happens.

Thanks for your reply. The clinic say nothing for like 4 months but then im reading online elsewhere its fine after two weeks. Truth be told I get the sense theyre very conservative with their advice after the op and I dont really have a choice but to look half presentable.

Hi all I have a HT booked in 2 weeks time with FueCapilar. Roughly 2 weeks after my HT I have to attend a big party which I have no way to avoid. I was wondering if anyone has pics of their hair and donor area about 2 weeks after? I have found a few results online but cant find any here so if anyone has come across posts or have their own pictures I would appreciate sending them my way. Main reason is to figure out if I need to use some kind of fibres or concealer to hide it as best as possible - I was thinking dermmatch would be a good choice for this as it would hide the redness as well if I get that. Unfortunately the party I am attending is with many people and saying I have had a HT is not an option. Many thanks

Hi all I am going for a HT in about a month with FueCapilar. I am currently a NW4 heading into 5 (dermatologist diagnosed) and as a result have been recommended to have two procedures done - one for the hairline and midscalp, and then a second about a year later for the crown. Now I am not currently using any medication due to another medication I was taking but I have now stopped taking the other medication, I can start Finasteride. However, I recently came across this video on youtube which recommended not starting Finasteride before a HT due to several issues (video linked at the bottom). I am now worried about starting - I was due to start a topical Finasteride/Minoxidil solution about a month after the HT on the clinics recommendation. In the meantime they advised me to start on the tablets as it would help with avoiding shock loss in the months after the HT. I am now a bit confused about whether to start using Finasteride or not in the month I have left before the first procedure. Please let me know what you think and whether I should start from now and use the tablets (micro dosing for a few weeks first to avoid side effects) from now until the first month after the op has elapsed and then switch over to the topical solution, or whether I should wait until after. Does anyone how long after an HT you can use fibres or thickening spray? Just thinking ahead to the shedding phase and how to cover it up for some big social things I have coming up. I assume after 2 weeks should be fine given you can shower normal by then?

Fair enough. I think for now I will wait to see if Dr Bicer or Demirsoy get back into contact but I really want everything booked by mid December so will most likely go with FueCapilar, back on medication by the start of March then see where I am in September next year. if all is good then go back for the next one and would make sense to stick with FueCapilar if they have good results first time round.

Yup another reason why I am more in favour of FueCapilar then Dr Resul. Well I am Asian and had a beard by the time I was 14 🤣 so more than enough there. Is that generally chosen as a last resort or is that something I could ask they use in this first HT too?
