  1. I hope so because it’s very noticeable when the light hits it.
  2. Hi, do you know what’s the process of smoothing out the cobblestones? Is this something I can do with a Dr. Pen (micro needling gun)? Cheers.
  3. Still the same. I am thinking of shaving my head and using a derma pen to smooth down the bumps.
  4. Sorry for the late reply. I went to Silicon Valley Hair Insitute. They are located in the Bay Area.
  5. I seen your photos and I can barely see your bumps. I think you will be good once everything heals. unfortunately for me, I noticed these bumps a few weeks after everything started to heal. I figured it was part of the healing process. I can see the bumps with hair and with a shaved or low cut hair. I am hoping the HT doctor will make good and fix it or he might let his pride and ego get in the way and say it’s not cobblestones. It’s very noticeable and I can catch people looking at my scalp when talking with them. I don’t know what to do as my job doesn’t allow hats
  6. I have been using tretinoin which is not doing anything to the bumps, it’s just fading my SMP. Shouldn't the HT doctor be responsible for fixing this? Isn’t this considered malpractice? I got this done in California so I am sure there’s some kind of laws that protect us I haven’t spoken with a dermatologist but that’s not a bad idea. thanks.
  7. Hi, I have attached some photos I took right after the surgery and the last two will be two weeks after the surgery. Sorry about the clarity of the photos, I used my iPhone. I haven’t been seen another clinic but I might just do that. I had relocated to Montana, do you know of any good ones out here?
  8. I had an FUE done over a year and half ago and notice a bunch of bumps on my head were the follicles where transplanted. I was told the bumps are normal and to use tretinoin which will help flatten them. I am no doctor but I am positive the bumps are not acne as they been there since day one of the transplant and I don’t feel tretinoin will flatten these bumps. It’s very embarrassing as the bumps can be seen with hair or if I shave my head. It looks like something you see on a kids doll or something. From what I read online, the bumps are called cobblestones and it’s an error on the doctor with the puncture incisions not deep enough or excess skin not taking off of the hair follicles. Can someone please confirm these are cobblestone and what can be done to fix the bumps? Should the doctor be responsible to fix these? I got the transplant done in Northern California, US. Thanks.
  9. I guess I need to dig a bit deeper on this. If California covers a sex change, I am sure they cover something small like this. I could of gone back to work a week after and half the surgery but since I can’t wear hats and I work around medical equipment, I didn’t want to risk getting an infection or hitting my head. I know I qualify for SDI through the state of California but wondering about my job.
  10. Hello everyone, I had a HT and was told I can file for STD throughly my employer. I took a month and half off due to healing and the fact that I can’t wear hats at work. I went through the process with UNUM and they denied my claim. I thought in the state of California non elective surgeries were covered? I read somewhere that Unum is notorious for denying claims to save the companies money. Should I fight this or let it go? Cheers.
  11. Dr. Miguel Canales with Silicon Valley Hair Institute.
  12. He says he has seen better results with 2.5mg than with 5mg. I always thought a higher does meant better results if you are able to tolerate it.
  13. I have been taking oral minoxidil for about a year now and not seeing many results with my native hairs thickening up. I started off with 2.5MG then after a couple months I bumped it up to 5MG with no side effects (minus nose and ear hair growth). Do you think it’s safe to take 5MG and use Rogain foam twice a day or maybe bumped it up to 10MG? I feel I am one of those people who metabolizes medication very fast as I don’t respond to many meds. By the way, my HT doctor said 2.5mg is better than 5mg Thanks.
  14. Hi, I am three weeks post fue hair transplant, 3200 graphs. My HT doctor gave me a prescription for betamethasone dipropionate for the donor area due to the pin like sensation, itchiness when hair grows and redness. I found when I shave my head with a foil shaver, I do get some relief. My question is, can I also use the betamethasone dipropionate for the scalp to help reduce the redness? My scalp does not itch, possibly because it’s still numb.
  15. Cheers, Do you know how long that normally takes? I have been shedding a lot. Every time I wash and conditioner my hair, I see about 25-50 hairs. thanks
  16. I have been using saw palmetto, castor oil and peppermint oil on my donor area to help with the itching and healing process, it does help. Can I use saw palmetto and castor oil (Hairmetto oil) on my transplanted area? I had my transplant and two weeks ago.
  17. Thanks brother, I am trying t best. Quick question… I am on day 11, I was able to remove all of the scabs. I did see a bunch of hairs on my hand while shampooing but the hairs seemed to be shaved hairs from when they shaved my head. I noticed my newly transplanted hairs are growing but they seem very diffused. Is this normal? I think I have done much shedding yet, just wondering if this will get thicker or is this what I am to expect in 4-6 months?. The native hairs have already started growing thicker and longer. My hair grows fast. I attached a photo. The photo looks like how my hair looked when I first got my SMP done 2 years ago. Thanks.
  18. I feel they did a good job but only time will tell. I don’t have high expectations and I know I will not be able to get a full set of hair like I had in my teens-20’s. I also know I will need another transplant to cover the crown are and to add some density so hopefully I have enough donor hairs left. I appreciate everyone’s feedback, negative or positive. I will hold off on the PRP for now.
  19. No problem. I’ll take another one at the two week mark.
  20. Before or after? It’s still healing and somewhat red.
  21. From online views (google search) and pictures from his website. I just took a chance and I hope I don’t regret it. For now I won’t stress about it until it’s time to stress. I have attached a before and after photo of the top scalp. I still have a lot of scabbing going on. I had smp done so you will see that as well.
  22. Yeah I feel the same way. I rather save up for another transplant in a year from now if I have enough donor hairs. If not then I might put that money towards SMP which shouldn’t cost that much since I already had it done two years ago. I just need to retouch it up make it darker. All and all from what I see, I think the transplant went well. It’s only 8 days so I know it’s still early but I see so many hairs so far which I know will start to shed. Won’t know until 4-6 months.
  23. I did a search on this doctor before going through with the procedure and didn’t find that many negative comments about him. Your always going to have negative comments regardless because some people are hard to please. If you don’t mind me asking, what did you find? Did you do a search for Miguel Canales with Silicon Valley Hair Institute? Thanks.
  24. Hello everyone, I just had a FUE transplant last week by Dr. Canales located in the Bay Area. They were able to get 3195 graphs and I was told I am a NW5. They recommended I would benefit from PRP or their “Epic PRP” which is Includes medications such as finasteride and minoxidil, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. Do you feel this necessary or even if this would work? I read reviews and seen YouTube videos of people saying they did not have any results. The cost for four session would run at 3K for the epic + PRP or 2K for just PRP, four sessions. Thanks
  25. Please do, I am curious to see what you find. I have a follow up this Wednesday with my hair transplant doctor, I’ll ask him about this and let you know what he says.
