  1. I would consult with Dr Yaman and Dr Bicer first and see how many grafts they can extract from scalp donor area. That being said Dr Yaman quoted me 150-400 maximum, with 600 being upper end of what they use from the beard. Dr Bicer prefers using chest hair over beard but that could have changed since my consultation with her. If she stills prefer the former, over the latter I would consider other BHT surgeons
  2. Dr Bicer is recommended on here and she does great work. That being said, there does seem to be a communication issue so I would clear things up before committing. I had to bring almost 6k for my procedure, so it is not out of the ordinary for Turkish clinics. 9k is a lot, but still cheaper than most clinics out there. If you think it is too much avoid getting a transplant until you feel financially secure. That being said most clinics don't offer pickup/dropoffs and hotel stays so if you went to USA or Canada you would likely pay for everything yourself. As for COVID if you are worried about catching it then get vaccinated first and plan your transplant around that.
  3. Not yet, but I will be getting the second dose of the vaccine soon and was thinking of going to Hasson and Wong, since I live quite close to Vancouver. I saw Dr Gillespie since I live in Alberta, but he did not think scalp issue were the cause and prescribed me propecia when I last went to him. I was not taking it then, and my hair loss was quite aggressive, although it stopped once I started taking it two yrs ago
  4. I went to quite a few doctors and none of them suggested a biopsy, they thought it was a surgical error. I ended up asking for it myself and was told there was evidence of frontal fivrosing alopecia and genetic hair loss. Anyway they wrote that the results were inconclusive, so it just left me and the doctor confused. We did another biopsy and this time it just said inconclusive without the additional comments. Unfortunately I have had issues with the medical system here, my brother who is 18 was told he had arthritis because the doctor analysing it did a poor job. Similarly my sinus issues were left undiagbosed for the same reason of misreading xrays and was only diagnosed by going to my dentist, so I do have issues trusting what the doctors are telling me. My hair has grown after the second procedure, so hopefully things will turn out okay.
  5. I won't rush into any procedure, made that mistake the first time. I just wanted to plan ahead, so the earliest I will undergo a transplant is January 2022. I have a 50/50 success rate when it comes to HTs, so I am going to take thing slow. While budget is not an issue, I did pay over 20k for my first procedure which ended up failing and leaving me in a bad situation, which is why I chose Turkey for my second procedure and likely will for the third as well. While I am happy with the results, I would like the type of results someone like Erdogan has produced with countless patients, so only then will I be truly satisfied. I know its risky, because of some of the past results I have seen. I would have preferred Hasson and Wong, truth be told, but like I mentioned they did not think my donor was suitable for even a second procedure
  6. I guess growth guarantee was not the appropriate term to use in this case, since I know a few clinics that advertise this, mainly hair mills. I guess what I should have said that if a repair procedure would be possible, and I believe that is what some clinics will offer if the transplant does not turn out to what me, as a patient and the doctor expected. The main issue I am having is getting a true estimate for my donor capacity. Before my second procedure I consulted with several doctors, such as Hasson and Wong, and was told a procedure of even 3500 grafts FUT+FUE would be pushing my donor to the limit. After another 4300 grafts, procedure my donor area still looks good, so I was just curious what would happen, if I maxed out my donor for the third and hopefully last procedure, if it ended up failing. I went with a world renowed surgeon for the first procedure and to this day, still have no idea why it failed, so I have to prepare for the worst, just in case.
  7. I am looking into getting a procedure for the crown area, within the next six months. I have narrowed it down to Dr Bicer and Dr Erdogan. I am leaning towards the latter because I want the temples reconstructed as well. Dr Bicer also does temple work, but I have not found many examples of her work, in that area online and was told it is a case by case thing. I am having trouble deciding because of some of the past negative Asmed reviews. I have already undergone a failed procedure before, so can't afford it again, because I have quite a large area to cover. Both clinics offer growth guarantees but if my donor is used up, how will they carry out a repair procedure. I don't know if anyone else has been in this position, so any help would be appreciated.
  8. You can't go wrong with any of the three. As for scar revision, I think Dr Bicer would be the best option for that, since she also does FUT, but it would be best to reach out first and ask. I have not consulted with Pekiner, but he does have some great results. I will also add that when I consulted HLC before my procedure, they underestimated my donor and said I can only get 3500 grafts, and no further surgeries would be possible, unless I went with body hair. They were quite conservative which is good, if you don't want your donor depleted but bad, if you want to maximize the donor capacity. I am still in talks with Dr Bicer but the experience has been positive, thus far. I personally want to get my temples filled in, but I was not able to find many results showcasing that. I am not sure how important temple restoration is for you, though. Other than that, if you needed body hair, for midscalp or crown, she won't provide a guarantee for those areas. I don't think it applies for your case, but it might help others that are considering it
  9. I think as far as Asmed is concerned, they are doing multiple patients a day. That being said he does have two other individuals performing the surgery. One is a doctor and the other is an assistant, which is why you might have heard that they do multiple procedures. They have three packages, one for €1.50, €1.90 and 2.50, with only the latter one guaranteeing you involvement from Dr Erdogan. I think he does 1-2 patients a day, with the other doctor doing more, but don't quote me on that. As others have mentioned he does have some very impressive results, and I considered him as well, but some of the negative results and how they were dealt with, kind of put me off. I am unsure how things are now though Dr Biçer, is a good option, and I am leaning towards her for my next procedure. She usually schedules face to face consults via skype or whatsapp which can give you a better picture of the Doctor's surgical plan
  10. I would go with Dr Biçer. I have been in contact with her for a hair transplant for the crown, and she has been excellent, in answering my questions. Most of the other doctors I consulted with communicate through their assistants, but Dr Biçer's clinic arranged a video call with the doctor, which I thought was a nice gesture.
  11. I was also quite young, when I started losing my hair. Like others have mentioned hair loss at a young age is usually more aggressive and without meds, you might not have enough donor grafts if you progress to NW 6 or 7. First thing you should do is consult with a hair transplant surgeon and get their advice. Also just curious, did you get a biopsy done? Hairloss can sometimes be caused by lichen planopilaris or other forms of scarring alopecia, so if you don't have any family history it might be worth it to get one done by a dermatologist.
  12. I was thinking along the same lines. I have consulted with three doctors, thus far, and was told 1000-1500 grafts were required for the midscalp, since the area still appears quite thin. If the area continues maturing, which it likely will, seeing as how I am going slower than average. Then I would like to use the additional 1500 grafts to lower my hairline, instead, of wasting grafts on the midscalp. I have about 3000 grafts left, and thus far the doctors and myself have not agreed on what the best use of grafts will be, which is why I was wondering if I should wait a few more months, reevaluate where I am, and then proceed with the procedure.
  13. I don't see why you can't ask them to go below 2000 grafts. Contact them, and mention to them that you need lower density in the middle of the hairline, and see what they say. It would also be a good idea to contact other clinics and get their opinion, and see if the work can be done with less grafts
  14. I had my second procedure, a little over fourteen months ago, for 4400 grafts. I was disappointed with the results, up until 11 months post op and felt as if the second transplant also failed. However I have since had significant growth and fall into the slow growing category. I am looking into a third procedure for my crown, since the doctor only placed 1500 grafts in an area of 75 cm². Since I am growing slower than average are the full results unlikely to be apparent until 18 months post op? Also should I wait until I have gotten past the 18 month mark, before consulting with doctors for a third procedure, since they might overestimate the grafts required, in case there is additional maturation or growth, or will their estimate take into account that there may be further growth
