The first and third pic are from mid 11/20. That’s right before my first 1mg Finasteride pill. The second and forth pic are just now. It’s been three months on Minoxidil 5% now. My left temple was always more receded. It filled in a lot and that area gradually going into the middle is no more. I have so many little 1/2”-1” hairs. It’s probably similar to around 5-6 months into a transplant, lol. Also my hair thickness is pretty apparent too.

Thanks for the compliment. Due to me responding very well to the meds, and not wanting to shave my head due to the type of work I do, I’m still holding off a transplant. Plus a little Toppik and it works like a charm. No Toppik in the pics though.

I’ve been on the forum since my early 20’s mostly behind the scenes reading and learning. I almost got a H/T a few times but still am a little nervous of surgery. I’ve had a few in person consultations too. I’m 38 now. I’ve been on 1mg Finasteride daily since 11/20 and 5% minoxidil foam since 3/29/21 twice a day. I am an NW3 that was looking to stabilize my current hair, but also strengthen my temples and hairline. My crowns always been good. My right side temple is stronger than my left, and it even has many new little 1/2”-1” hairs growing now. My left side was slightly going further into the middle, but now I can’t find thinning there anymore, and my hairline has lots of 1/2 to 1” new hairs growing. I’ll keep taking it. I use Toppik to really give a full head appearance when I work. The pics have no Toppik. I did have shedding from minoxidil at one month in, but rarely lose a hair anymore. first photo was before Finasteride & Minoxidil. The second is just under 3 months after Minxodil and about 7 months Finasteride. What do you guys think?

I’ve been using Fin 1mg for 4 months now. I’m looking to add Kirkland Minoxidil 5% to my routine. Is foam or liquid more convenient for a receding hairline? I might be slightly losing hair bridging in to the middle from the left temple as well. I was thinking it might be best to use the liquid on all areas and foam at the hairline so it doesn’t drip over my face? I keep my hair about a 3-4 on the side and a little longer on top. Thank you!

Hi I’ve been on 1 mg Fin for 3 months. I take a pill each night. No side effects. But I feel like my hair is thinner and receding more in these three months than it has in 10 years. Is this normal? I’m a NW3. Thanks

Yes they both coincidentally said 2k grafts. I don’t need a hairline lowering. Just being conservative. I do have a lot of donor though. Thanks guys for your advice. I have no clue where Dr Cooleys facts come from for Fin, or its his personal opinion. I know Dr Konior is like a god on here too, haha. Probably the highest priced surgeon there is, but he’s an artist.

Tried Finasteride about 2 years in my 20’s. I stopped until about 3 weeks ago. I’m taking 1mg fin per day prescribed by Dr Konior. But Dr Cooley recommended 5mg cut in quarters to take Mon, Wed, Friday. He said who makes the 5mg in Israel is better quality than India for the 1mg. So I might switch to that. I was thinking of starting minoxidil.

Hi I’ve been on the forum for over 10 years, but always read up instead of posted. I’m about ready to finally get a HT for my temples. I didn’t receded much since I got a consultation from Dr Konior back in 2007 (I was 24). I am 37 (almost 38 now) and I am receeding just a touch more in the temples. I’m still an NW 2 I believe or maybe a touch more on the left side. I had an online consultation from Dr Cooley and Konior recently. I am a big fan of both of their work (as the entire forum is too), but I always had a fear of the V scar. Especially since watching Joe Rogan and a buddy of mine who shaved off his HT hair and sports a bald cut with the scar showing. I’d prefer to keep my hair at a 1 or 2 if possible. I’m a 3 right now. Dr Konior recommenced 2k grafts of FUE, but Dr Cooley didn’t due to my family history of MPB. He said it’s best to do FUT and later on FUE if needed. I’m not sure how to proceed??
