  1. #BeforeAndAfterMondays In order to repair a poorly-executed transplant performed by another surgeon, this 30-year-old man underwent a combination of two approaches with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley: 1) a follicular unit extraction (FUE) session in which a total of 2760 grafts (from both scalp and beard) were placed followed by a skin micro pigmentation (SMP) procedure to the donor area. Aspects of our surgical approach can be viewed on our site’s Most Common Questions page. Three elements combined to help improve his experience: graft harvest, graft storage, and patient safety. 2. This 32-year-old man underwent a follicular unit transplantation(FUT) session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 2277 grafts were placed. The patient’s hair follicles were incubated in platelet rich plasma(PRP) throughout the duration of the procedure. This, combined with an ATP-containing storage solution has been shown to enhance survival of transplanted hairs. As with all of Dr. Wesley’s patients, he was NOT required to cut his hair for the procedure. As a result, this patient was able to return comfortably to work and social activities within approximately 7-10 days
  3. This 34-year-old man underwent a follicular unit extraction (FUE) session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 2829 grafts were placed. Three elements combined to help improve his experience: graft harvest, graft storage, and patient safety. Rather than a larger FUE punch used by a robotic approach, Dr. Wesley used a smaller caliber hand-held motorized punch to performed the donor harvest. This approach better enabled the capture of donor intact hair roots that are slightly curved beneath the skin surface. Upon completion of the harvest, the patient’s donor area was treated wi
  4. This 36-year-old man underwent a follicular unit transplantation FUT session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 2455 grafts were placed. Three unique elements combined to help improve his experience: no-shave requirement for optimal discretion, enhanced graft storage measures, and rigid patient safety standards. As with all of Dr. Wesley’s patients, he was NOT required to cut his hair for the procedure. As a result, this patient was able to return comfortably to work and social activities within approximately 7-10 days of his procedure. Video conferences can take place

  6. Dr. Carlos Wesley describes the questions that patients should ask prior to selecting a practice to perform their FUE procedure. The 5 Ps are described in detail: Punch, Pick-Ups, Preservation Media, Performing Surgeon, and Placement Aspects. https://vimeo.com/462322863

  9. #BeforeAndAfterMonday This 35-year-old man underwent a follicular unit extraction (FUE) session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 1228 grafts were placed. Upon completion of the harvest, the patient’s
