I am 27 year old American, and I plan on getting a 3000 graft FUE Procedure with a top European surgeon next year.
One thing which has really concerned me, which I didn't know previously, is that there is a possible risk of permanent numbness/nerve damage to the donor and/or recipient area after a FUE hair transplant.
What is the risk/likelihood of this?

@Portugal25 Oh I see. I didn't see that until after. Thanks.

HDC does stellar work at repair jobs. Check out @Doron Harati
HLC top Docs are the founder Dr. Ozgur and Dr. Akin.
@Portugal25 Thanks. I'm just curious why you don't have Dr. Kyriakos Maras on your list (That's why I asked)
I thought there may have been a reason he is not on there.

@T95goodIf you get a kidney transplant do you also believe it’s just fine if the Doctor only cuts you open and leaves the underpaid techs to do the rest of the surgery?
Like all other surgeries, Hair Transplant is also a surgery and thus it makes the world of difference if it’s conducted by a Surgeon with a lot of experience and proven great results or by unknown Doctors and techs.Eugenix has a Great Doctor named Pradeep Sethi and his wife who is also very good Dr. Arika.
The comprehensive package does not include any of these two Doctors, you will have a unknown Indian doctor doing your surgery with unknown techs. I would never recommend this option.Even with the Exclusive package you don’t have one of the two renowned Doctors at Eugenix doing the whole surgery because there’s still some parts that will be done by techs but at least your surgery will be conducted by Dr. Arika.
It’s for this reason I always advise people looking at the 2-3€/graft price point to go with either Dr. Bruno Ferreira (2.5€/graft), HLC (2.5€/graft) or Dr. Bruno Pinto (2.45€/graft). All of them do surgery on just 1 patient per day using advanced techniques such as DHI (both Bruno’s) or Stick&Place (HLC). This being said, Eugenix is indeed getting amazing result and are in my TOP 3 for combined FUE+BHT.
Check my list below with some of the world best Doctors.Hi @Portugal25,
- What's your opinion on Dr. Kyriakos Maras (HDC Hair Clinic - Cyprus)?
- Which Doctor at HLC (Ankara) would you recommend?

@TomB you should really follow @Doron Haratiand @Melvin-Moderator advise.
Turkey is the world capital of botched hair transplants because it`s mostly all inclusive hairmills or low cost doctors both using underpaid technicians without any medical background (former taxi drivers or dishwashers) to do your surgery.
Ofcourse there are also good options in Turkey but from what we have concluded at HRN only HLC Ankara is a safe bet in Turkey. Here you have a Doctor doing your whole surgery using a highly skilled technique but the price goes to 2.5€/graft.
If you are looking for a low cost option you should consider Dr. Demirsoy at 1.25€/graft but be warned that he does pre-made slits and has technicians do the implating phase. However, he does only have 1 patient per day.
If you really want low cost then go to Esma&Serkan Tetik (they now have 1 real patient results thread at HRN). These are nurses not Doctors or technicians doing all inclusive DHI (also using beard grafts) for 1400€ per 1-2 day surgery. The Adminstrator of the Turkish forum had his surgery with these Nurses.
It`s better to go to nurses with dozens with real patients results on the Turkish forum then going to a hairmill like Cinik or others and have a unknown technician do your surgery.
Hi @Portugal25 - Why is Dr. Maras (HDC Hair Clinic) not on this list you created? What is your opinion of him?

It begs the question: do implanted grafts really dodge the effect of DHT? I believe if one does not halt alopecia, both the implants and native hair will eventually fall out bc that's what the body is prone to doing.
I've heard that it doesn't completely dodge it.
This is because even the donor area miniaturizes.
In other words, it seems like in most people, even the transplanted hairs can become thin and wispy, but they might not completely fall and die out like the native hair does.
This means a hair transplant can become thinner/balder over time, due to the effects of DHT on the donor grafts.
I just want to see examples of what it looks like when you have thick transplanted hair in the front/hairline, and then your midscalp continues to bald.
I haven't really seen too many examples of this.
-
A lot of surgeons will not perform surgery on patients who refuse to use Finasteride, because you will -
"Continue to lose hair behind the transplanted hairs, and it will look odd."
I am a young patient (Age 26) who will not take Finasteride, and I'm having a hair transplant soon.
Yet, I have struggled to find pictures/examples of patients that have gotten hair transplants & did not take Finasteride, and what that looks like in the long term.
I would like to see actual pictures of what this looks like; i.e. Losing hair behind transplanted hairs.
For example, a young patient gets 2500 grafts implanted in his hairline. He continues to lose hair in this mid-scalp, but his transplanted hairs in the front are still there.
Does anyone have any examples of this?

@Grafts Hello Sir, First of all thank you for considering Eugenix for your hair transplantation. Kindly let me clarify your doubts regarding Premium package.
Cost per Graft is INR 210 plus 18% GST ( €2.88 inclusive tax as on today.
Dr Arika will do designing and planning
100% slits by Dr Arika
100% Extraction by Dr Arika
Hairline implantation ( Upto first two layers) by Dr Arika.
Remaining implantation will be done by senior technicians under the supervision of Dr.
Since we have been doing direct hair Transplant where Extraction and implantation is being done simultaneously it is not possible for one Dr to perform entire surgery.
Thank you Abhinay, for clarifying.
In that case, can Eugenix update the website because this isn't really clear.
As you can see, on the website, it doesn't mention 100% of the extraction being done by the Doctor; It mentions "Crucial parts of the extraction".
Also, there is none of the extra detail you provided regarding the Doctor doing partial implantation, "Up to the first 2 layers"
I think this would really help with clarifying the Premium Package.

Wow 2.9€/grafts and Dr.Arika doesn’t do the whole surgery and has techs doing the surgery...
Then it’s a no brainer go with Dr. BF!
@Portugal25 - Yeah, the below is what is listed on their website for the Premium Package (most expensive package)
Premium Package
Cost of Rs. 210/graft*: (2.9€/graft/tax-inclusive)
Planning, designing, and 100% slits are done by Dr Pradeep Sethi or Dr Arika Bansal.
Complete involvement includes below:
-
Designing the hairline.
-
Crucial parts of extraction.
-
Hairline implantation.
-
Supervision of graft placement assisted by our expertly trained and experienced senior technicians.
Value-added benefits
-
Nitrous oxide anaesthesia (optional) ensures conscious sedation and is extremely safe making anaesthesia step even more painless.
-
Airport transfer, staying, and food for two nights are complimentary.
**In the previous Comprehensive and Exclusive Package, the hairline implantation was not done by the doctors. Complete hairline implantation has been incorporated at the request of many patients thus, introducing Premium Package.

In my opinion, Eugenix all day. Pekiner seems to pick and choose his patients and has canceled the procedure on the day of the surgery more than once.
@Melvin-Moderator - Thanks Melvin.
How recent was the last time Dr. Pekiner done this? (i.e. cancelled procedures on the day of surgery)
My understanding is that this has happened to a couple of people, but that he has changed his approach and it's not likely it will happen again. (But who knows)

@Graftsboth are great choices but I would only reccomend Eugenix if it`s the package in which Dr. Arika does the whole surgery (2.9€/graft w/tax) and I would reccomend Pekiner if you don`t have miniaturized hairs.
@Portugal25 - Is there a reason you don't recommend Pekiner if I have miniaturized hairs?
I've sent him pretty accurate photo's, and he has accepted me as a patient (I think because I have a decent beard, and he is looking to use a decent number of beard grafts in the midscalp region)
Also, I've sent him a pretty accurate video of my donor area, and he has seen all of this.

Then forget Turkey or India and go to Dr.Bruno Ferreira in Europe/Portugal that has a more skilled technique, does the whole surgery on just 1 parpatient per day and charges 2.5€/graft.
@Portugal25 - I'm currently in communication with Dr. Ferreira; If he accepts me as a patient, I will definitely go with him instead of Pekiner/Eugenix.
Also, I think Pekiner does 1 patient per day as well.

@Portugal25 - Yes, the procedure I would look to book with Eugenix is the Premium Package (most expensive package) where Dr. Arika does the "crucial" parts of the surgery. However, just to correct what you mentioned;
In the premium package (2.9€/graft after tax), Dr. Arika Bansal still does not do the entire surgery.
She performs the hairline design, "crucial" parts of the extraction, and implantation of the "hairline" only; The Senior Technicians do the rest.
(i.e. Non crucial parts of the extraction, and implantation other than the hairline)

@JohnAC71 - I'm traveling from the United States (California).

After months of research, I am planning on having a FUE hair transplant in a few months.
I'll probably have to put a deposit down soon, but I wanted some opinions on the below surgeons.
Background -
Age 26
Norwood 3/4 - Diffused
Both doctor's have mentioned they can restore frontal region with 2500 grafts.
Options:
Dr. Pekiner (Turkey) - Doctor performs surgery
Dr. Arika Bansal (India) - Doctor performs the surgery
Who would you personally go with?
-
HLC Ankara is noted to be one of the better clinics in Turkey.
I am thinking about going to them in 2021, however, it seems they don't have any information on who the best surgeon is at the facility.
Do they only have four doctors? Which doctors specialize in beard to head (Body hair transplants)?
Who is the best hair transplant surgeon overall at HLC Ankara?
Thanks.
