  1. I have taken care of the hairline, and midscalp, with a few grafts scattered around the crown, requiring an extra 2000 grafts, for density if I decide on a third procedure. That way, I will have 2000 grafts left over for the future. I have consulted with several doctors, and most of them told me they could not predict my final hair loss pattern, whereas Dr Demirsoy seemed certain I would be a NW 7. I was NW 4, by 21, and even though I have lost hair for the past 9 years, I was only somewhere between NW 5, and 6, before my second transplant. Due to how aggressive my hair loss was, I assume I have reached my final pattern, but it could always get worse.
  2. I was told not to take Dutasteride, mainly because it is much stronger, and I have had some side effects, pertaining to my mood, after taking finasteride. I take it before bed, so by the time I am awake, the side effects are non existent, but with a stronger drug, things could be worse. I have had to plan ahead, mainly because my first transplant was a failure, and I had poor growth, even though I chose, a recommended clinic, so I kind of have to make the best use of the grafts I have left over, and think about how to best use them. I have an additional 2k grafts, which can be extracted from the beard, or so I was told during the consultation. I am also going to consult with Eugenix, and see what they say
  3. If you want to maximize donor, then definitely max out with FUT, then go with FUE. I had a 3300 grafts FUT procedure, and the results were poor, but it allowed me to get a second procedure, via FUE, where over 4000 grafts were extracted. I am being told, that I can obtain an additional 3000 grafts, maybe more, with beard hair, if I go that route. If I had not gotten FUT, initially, I would be in a bad situation, right now, with not enough grafts to fill in the crown. As for the transection rates, it really depends, on the clinic you choose. I have read that some places claim that FUE, has evolved to such an extent, that yield and transaction rates are similar to FUT, so I guess that is something you can ask the clinic, when you have your consultation with them
  4. I have asked the clinic that did my second procedure, for preop pics, once I get those, I will post them, along with the results thus far. As for my first procedure, I have not kept in contact with the clinic that did my transplant, mainly because I was disappointed in the results, since only 800, maybe less of the grafts actually grew.
  5. I have had two prior procedures, one FUT, for 3300 grafts, and a second procedure, for around 4000 grafts, and am looking into a third, and hopefully final procedure, to increase density in the crown. My first procedure was a failure, but I am extremely happy with the results of the second procedure, even though I was initially worried. Before my second procedure, I contacted Dr Wong, HLC clinic, as well as Dr Demirsoy. Dr Wong, suggested an FUT procedure, but mentioned that he may only be able to obtain another 3500 grafts, which unfortunately was not enough, for what I needed. HLC, suggested a FUE, procedure, and gave a similar estimate for 3500 grafts, mentioning, that they could not transplant the crown, and to undergo SMP instead. Dr Demirsoy refused to operate, on me altogether, and mentioned that my donor area, was weak. Going into my second procedure, I was worried about donor depletion, but a year later, my donor area looks really good, and some doctors I have contacted are pretty sure, I can get an extra, 3000 grafts. On the other hand, some other doctors have mentioned that my donor area is depleted, and that further extractions will not be possible, so I am once again a bit confused, about who to believe. I want to maximize my donor area, but at the same time, don't want it to be overharvested. I have had about ten consultations so far, with a 50-50 split either way, so I am not sure how to proceed, from here on.
  6. I had my first transplant a couple of years back at a very young age, but unfortunately the transplant failed and I ended up wasting about 2500 grafts, which did not grow. I had my second procedure back in December and am about 7 months post-op. I went with a different clinic this time and had an additional 4500 grafts transplanted, 3000 in the hairline and midscalp and the remainder in the crown. The hairline seems to be filling in nicely and I would say I am quite happy but unfortunately past the first three or so, cm the density is quite poor. I have been taking pictures and the hair is definitely there, but it is extremely thin and fine and has been like that for two months now. I did read on here that final results become apparent when the hair pops through and matures. I am happy with the first part, but it is taking a long time to mature and hence has me worried. I am currently taking propecia and minoxidil and when I contacted the clinic I was told to wait a year. Is there any reason why the hair is taking such a long time to mature? I am just worried that the transplant failed again since it won't grow past a certain length but I could be wrong and things might continue to improve if I am a slow grower
