  1. OP here, I'll provide a picture update sometime soon. I'm in a place where I don't really think about my hair these days, which I guess is the ideal goal of hair restoration. I take finasteride daily still and my hair seems to be better now than it was when I was in my mid 20s. In hindsight this journey was a big success, and even though there are some multi grafts in the hairline that I was bummed out about back then, I actually don't think they're a big deal cause I just quickly pluck them (takes a minute) as needed every 3-4 months or so
  2. For example these are two pictures immediately post op. What is the difference if there is a white bulb or not? Does one yield better results?
  3. Egy did you have a negative experience with Cinik clinic? Did Cinik do the insertions, or was it techs? Can you point me towards your experience, I would like to see. Also, why wouldn't I be able to buzz my head after an FUE procedure?
  4. Hey yeah I've been researching Turkish clinics for a couple years now. The overwhelming amount of cases from Cinik that I've seen documented on youtube/reddit/here have solid results. The only poor results (of which there aren't many) I've seen are the ones where the technicians were doing the insertions, or they hadn't stabilized their loss before getting the transplant done. I opted for the package with Cinik doing them himself. The other thing is that I don't really consider my case to be a hard one. I am basically just asking for density behind the hairline and then connecting the receded parts of my existing hairline, and so I can't justify paying an exorbitant amount for a top tier surgeon to do the job. If I had to reconstruct the entire hairline and temporal points then yeah I would probably reconsider my option. But for the job that I need done, Cinik seems to be the right mix of quality and price. And honestly worst case if my hair does end up getting botched somehow, which I consider unlikely, I will just buzz my head.
  5. Thanks for the feedback guys. I was teetering on the edge of whether or not it was worth it and ultimately I agree that it's best to leave them as they are. I have been on finasteride for over a year now and it seems to have stabilized my loss. You're right from those angles it is hard to tell, but I've lost a lot of volume all over, especially behind the hairline. Here's some pics that display the extent of my loss and I've also drawn the hairline that I'm going to ask the clinic to do. I am doing it with Dr. Cinik in Turkey (I got the package where he does all of the insertions). I'm basically looking to add density to weak areas and strengthen the hairline. I feel like my proposed hairline is conservative and should end up looking pretty natural, what do you guys think?
  6. Hello, I have a procedure coming up in a week and I've been trying to get an idea of how I want the hairline to be designed. I'm pretty set on the line that I want on top, but the area that I'm mulling over is the temples & temporal points. I have attached pictures of what they looked like when I was 21 and what they look like now at 28. There is a clear recession on the sides. However, this seems to be an area that requires the most expertise to implant naturally, and so this is why I might be hesitant to address it in the procedure. What do you guys think? Is it worth filling in the side temples in a hair transplant? I haven't seen much discussion on this topic on forums. Would be great to get some input.
  7. I too would like to know the answer to this. I have a procedure with Cinik coming up shortly.
  8. Yeah? I can't find much information on Dr. Gupta at Sure Hair but someone posted their results from him not too long ago on this forum and they seemed decent. His youtube has decent results too and his prices are reasonable for Toronto. That's the thing is I'm sorta on a budget, I don't want to spend more than $9000 CAD. I was also looking at flying to Tijuana, MX to the Dr. Cortez brothers, their work seems pristine. I guess Turkey is also an option. Just need flight restrictions to ease up a bit.
  9. Hello, I am 28 and have been on fin for almost 2 years now. I recently had a consultation with Dr. Gupta in Toronto and he said I would need around 2500 grafts. Does this sound about right to achieve good density? My hair loss is diffused, with most loss being concentrated in the temporal regions. I have attached pictures with the desired hairline drawn. I would like to improve density all over though, especially behind the hairline - you can see the mid region is thin. Would be great if you guys could chime in and let me know how many grafts you think would be needed to achieve good density here. I would like to grow my hair out and play around with different styles. Planning on getting a transplant this summer, just really trying to narrow down my options in terms of picking a clinic.
  10. Bump. Who are the most budget friendly surgeons in Toronto? A mix of affordability and quality. I cannot afford the top tier surgeons, and I would travel to another country to get work done but travel is almost impossible these days.
  11. There are lots of personal experiences shared on youtube, that's basically how I found out. Just search up Hair medical restoration or Dr cortez hair transplant, and you'll find them.
  12. Hey, so basically what's happened since I made this thread is I had a massive shed (100+ hairs in the shower/blowdrying every morning) that lasted 4-5 months, and it got to the point where I was doubting the legitimacy of the product I was using (Morr-F from ebay). I decided to switch to oral fin prescribed by a doctor, and my shedding seems to have come to a complete halt. I now only shed around 5-30 hairs in the morning. I'm not sure if this was just a cyclical shed or what. I am still using a bit of Morr-F at night in combination with the oral fin. At the moment my hair seems to be in the same state that it was 2 years ago, and so I'm pretty confident that I will be able to maintain with fin for the foreseeable future. Anyway, my current plan is to go to Mexico this summer for an FUE procedure with the Dr. Cortez brothers at Hair Medical Restoration. They quoted me 1600 grafts to fix up the frontal portion @ $3 CAD per graft all in. I don't really trust the budget clinics here in Canada and the quality ones are way out of my price range. I also don't want to travel all the way to Turkey, and so Mexico is a nice compromise for quality and convenience.
  13. Hi there, This summer I am looking at getting a hair transplant as well as gynecomastia surgery. I want to do them both within the same time frame so I can overlap the recovery periods. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of situation? I am wondering if I should do the gyno surgery first and then the hair transplant after? Or vice versa.
  14. Do you order yours off ebay? Any buyer in particular you buy from?
